JS menus not working in site.

hello,
A friend of mine has asked me to setup the following website
which was once hosted on another site and owned by someone else.
Webiste
here
He gave me a disc with all the files which I uploaded to his
server. However I seem to have a problem with the navigation menus
on the left hand side. When I click on one of the links I get a NOT
FOUND error although the page in question is on the server as I
have checked. Also the strange things is that last night for some
reason the links started working and I was able to get to these
pages for the first time. I dont know why as I didnt do anything
different. But then this morning the links wouldnt work again.
I cant check exactly where the nav menu thinks the pages it
links to are as its a js menu which I know nothing about. However I
uploaded the site exactly as the folder structure was on the other
server.
Can someone please point me in the right direction with this?
I need to get these menus working properly. Thanks in
advance.

> Am I looking in the wrong spot?
Yes. Look in the head section of the index page.
this kind of nonsense:
function mmLoadMenus() {
if (window.mm_menu_0903175038_0) return;
window.mm_menu_0903175038_0 = new
Menu("root",77,16,"Verdana, Arial,
Helvetica,
sans-serif",10,"#000000","#1c697a","#e1d7b8","#ffffcc","left","middle",3,0,1
000,-5,7,true,true,true,0,true,true);
mm_menu_0903175038_0.addMenuItem("Introduction","window.open('../fr_lifestyl
e.htm', '_parent');");
mm_menu_0903175038_0.addMenuItem("Location","window.open('../fr_aerial.htm',
'_parent');");
You can hand edit the paths in code view, or use the Dw
popout menu behavior
dialog box to fix them. Or do a find and replace in code of
just that index
homepage file-
find:
window.open('../
replace:
window.open('/code/
Something to watch for possibly- I'm guessing you didn't
build this site?
The links on the homepage should open framesets, the internal
pages seem to
all be in frames.
the links on the code/menu4/menu4.htm menu used IN the
framesets should be
opening specific files into a targeted frame. I think the
menu on the
homepage is a copy of the menu4 one. You may wind up opening
pages not in
the proper frameset- or possibly creating the wonderful hall
of mirrors
effect.
Or- consider getting rid of them or replacing them with a
better menu
system. And the frames also. This looks like a nice little
ten page or so
site that was made way to complicated by designing the pages
totally in
fireworks with minimal real text- then using frames and js
menus. and all of
those design choices have repercussions in the site's search
engine
listings.

  • Safari hierarchical menus not working correctly

    Hello all,
    I'm having a problem with Safari's hierarchical menus not working correctly. They pop out in odd positions, and--worst of all--the big ones (for folders that contain lots of bookmarks) pop out right on top of the main bookmarks menu, making it all but impossible to navigate that main menu. I've tried all the usual tricks: log out/restart the system, restart Safari, reset Safari, boot in safe boot mode, repair permissions, yank Safari's bookmarks prefs file, even reinstall Safari, and nothing worked. I've also noticed the same behavior in Camino. My system hierarchical menus work fine, though, so I'm thinking I have a corrupt prefs file somewhere. I'm using Safari 4.04 with no extra plugins beyond what come with it on 10.5.8. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix this?

    AFAIK, the submenu will pop on either side, depending on available space and if there are further subfolders, allowing them to continue in the same direction.
    Since the new account doesn't exhibit the issue, there are two ways to attack the problem. One is to log into your new account, make a list of the preference files (plists) located in /username/Library/Preferences/, including any in the ByHost subfolder, log back into the original account, move everything not on that list into a newly created folder on the Desktop, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can copy the ones in the Desktop folder (one at time) back into /Preferences/, restart, and see if the problem returns. If so, you've identified the corrupt/conflicting one. Continue with all of them until isolating the bad ones. That'll save you the trouble of resetting preferences.
    The second way is much more detailed and I'll not burden you with the steps unless the above doesn't fix the issue.

  • Alerts are not working for Site collections in a content database

    Hi,
    We have been into a strange issue that alerts are not working for site collections from a particular content database. When user subscribed for the alerts, they are getting mail about their subscription but not after that for any new items/documents added
    or changes happen in the list/document library.
    We have tried with Immediate as well as scheduled alerts both are not working.
    FYI, Alerts for all other site collections from different content database for the same web application are working without any issues.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Help menus not working for CS5 Production Premium

    I have installed the trial version of CS5 Production Premium on a Windows 7 64-bit PC. I canot get the Help menus to work for any of the applications.
    Is this a limitation of the CS5 trial version?
    I recently purchased Premiere Elements, but I did not deactivate it before installing Windows 7 on my PC. Would this interfere with the help menus for CS5?

    I think the Adobe site was down for maintenance a few days ago. My CS5 Help menus are working fine today.

  • Dropdown menus not working on website.

    I have created a wonderful new website for a client using Muse and he has seen the site via Business Catalyst and is thrilled with it. However, when I uploaded it to his web server none of the drop-down submenus are appearing - but they do in Business Catalyst. I have noticed they do not appear in preview mode either (I didn't pay much heed at the time). All of the links to the pages are set at either 'include page with hyperlink' or 'include page without hyperlink' - depending on what was required by the client. Can anyone give me a clue as to why the submenu's aren't showing up?

    Hi Gaurav
    Thank you so much for taking the trouble to help me but I seem to have solved it. The client has an account with 'Clicky Analytics' and I had  put a html code to the site within the master page of the site I was building. This was (somehow) preventing the drop down menus from working. I took the master page to pieces and then added each element back in - and when I added 'Clicky' the menu stopped working again.
    So I hope that this solution helps anyone else who has a problem. It could be caused by a code to another site.
    Thank you again for all your help
    Regards
    Jayne

  • Activate button not working in Site Collection features

    I just created a new web application and then Site Collection with "Team Site" template. Now when I want to activate "Publishing infrastructure" the "ACTIVATE" button is not working ..even not any button is working..whenever
    click on any button the page scrolls on the top.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you could not activate the “Publishing infrastructure” feature.
    To narrow the issue, you can check with the following steps.
    Did the issue occur in other browsers? You can use other browsers, such as Firefox or Chrome, to check whether it works.
    Did the issue occur in other site collections? You can create a new site collection or use other site collections in other web applications to check whether it works.
    You can also check the event log and ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
    To check event log, click the Start button and type “Event Viewer” in the Search box.
    For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS

  • Drop down menus not working in IE

    I am working on a site with and have implemented a drop down
    menu. The menu works in Safari, however it does not work in IE on
    Windows. The menu was created using Web Assist CSS Menu Writer.
    Below is the URL for the test home page I created.

    Below is a link to a seperate page inside the site.

    I hope someone can help?
    Thank you,
    Rich

    Hi
    I don't know about Web Assist so can't help directly.
    I you need another alternative, lots of people use:
    http://htmldog.com/articles/suckerfish/dropdowns/
    I've also found DynamicDrive to be useful:
    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/index.html
    In fact I implemented a custom version of their Chrome Menu (

    on a project so I know it works.
    Hope this helps

  • Acrobat X 10.1.1 - Colors picker drop down menus not working

    Colours picker drop down menus are not working stuck on default in all selections - Is there any work around / any other way to bring in or select an exact RGB / HEX etc colour besides using this picker if it doesn't work?
    - Chris

    You can programmatically set the various field colors (text, background, border) using JavaScript. For more information:
    Color arrays: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.260.html
    textColor property: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.726.html
    So you could set up a temporary button and use the following script in the Mouse Up event:
    // Set the text color to the RGB color (237,121,5),
    // which is a nice pumpkin color
    getField("text1").textColor = ["RGB", 237/255, 121/255, 5/255];

  • Why are moving menus not working in build?

    Recently, whenever I've tried creating a moving menu by putting tracks into drop zones, the project simulates fine, but the menus don't work when they're built. I've checked the VOB files and the problem is definitely there – it's nothing to do with the player.
    Today I created a simple project by automatically creating chapter menus and using several of the Apple templates, to create three menus for three tracks. The only elements I imported were three video tracks and their accompanying audio tracks. None of the menus works when built: one of them (using the 'City' template) is completely blank, in one ('Leader') the template's moving background doesn't work, but the clips in the buttons work, and in the third ('Filmstrip') the button highlights work, but the buttons are blank where the clips should be.
    I've also tried creating my own moving menu design, using drop zones that I've made, and the same thing happens. Yet in a previous version of DVD Studio Pro I've created similar menus that work perfectly.
    Has something broken in vsn 4.1.0? Anybody any ideas why this is happening.

  • Xp home and IE already installed. Added firefox and javascript dropdown menus not working at all. Help please

    I installed firefox on my laptop, vista and IE installed, and as yet have no problems. I decided to install firefox on my desktop with XP home and IE installed and it has created a problem. Before installing firefox I had javascript dropdown menus on my web site which I build and upload to my isp. Now I cannot get the dropdown menus to run at all on my desktop. I tried uninstalling firefox but it still doesn't work. Help would be appreciated even to get back to how it was before installing firefox.

    Yes, there is a work around by doing a forced restore to a "new iPhone", and manually synching the apps, one by one. You still can't update or delete any of them without going through this again. The only real fix will be from Apple - hopefully in 2.1 which is rumored to be released later today...
    If you read though these threads, you'll find some really excellent posts that will remind you of a 5 year old when he finds out that his new Batman suit doesn't make him fly.

  • Menus not working when flash movie is added

    We have some menus on our portal and if we add a flash movie, the submenus under the menus will not work on IE6, however in IE7 and firefox it works fine. When we remove the flash movie all the submenus will work on IE6, IE7 and firefox.
    Any help on this?
    Thanks
    Here is the code for our flash stuff
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://dddd.swf" id="FlowPlayer" height="270" width="360">
    <param name="movie" value="http://ddd.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="scale" value="noScale" />
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
    <param name="flashvars" value="config={videoFile: 'http://dd/1/134263.FLV', autoPlay: false, loop: false, showMenu: false, initialScale: 'orig' }" /></object>

    You can try 3 things :
    - use full urls in your menu : http://your_portal:your_porta/portal/page/portal/... instead of just "/portal/page/portal/...."
    - embed" your menu code as well as your flash code with a complete html code (<html><head></head><body>...</body></html>
    - spceify some <base url=...> in the head section of each. There can be conflicts about this. When you say your menu does not work, you mean the links are wrong when you click on a submenu ? What is the url of the link and what is the url you're getting at ?
