JSAM - Java Secure Application Manager won't Launch

JSAM doesn't wish to launch in Lion, even though it did in 10.6.  The dialog complains the Java for Cocoa Plug-in is not available. I've been looking around for it but can't find it. Any tips? Anyone else see this?

On Snow Leopard you don’t need to downgrade.
Get a copy of Safari 5.0.5 for Snow Leopard from another machine or possibly by Googling it (…I couldn’t find it on the Apple Downloads site, but theoretically it should also be contained in the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo).
Mount the DMG image on your Desktop and use Pacifist to browse the PKG contents: find and extract (say, on your Desktop) Safari.app (edit: you can’t just install the PKG in the normal way even if you trash Safari 5.1 first, at least on 10.6.8).
Via the Terminal rename Safari to, say, "Safari 5.0.5", e.g. (assuming you did extract Safari onto your Desktop):
$ cd ~/Desktop
$ sudo mv Safari.app/ Safari\ 5.0.5.app
[enter your admin password to rename the folder].
Now drop your Safari 5.0.5 into your Applications folder. You should now be able to use it alongside Safari 5.1: use Safari 5.0.5 for JSAM and Safari 5.1 (which is better) for everything else.
Hope this helps.

  • Java secure application manager won't start

    hi,
I want to get a webaccess to the intranet of my company.
Herofore I got a token and an adress to go to.
The first part is doing ok.
But, and a given point there comes a small window (in safari) and an error saying: " Could not launch the Java Serure Application Manager. Please shut down the application and try again." Doing so does not make any difference.
Anyone has got a clue how to solve this????

  • Juniper Java Secure Application Manager does not work with Snow Leopard

Anyone else having issues as well? I'm not using a client - its basically the Java based application manager for VPN connections to work (so I can remote desktop to my work PC).
Once logged in, it gives a "Restart your browser" error.
    Thanks for your help

OK - so I got it to work. Here's what I did. Let me know if it works for you:
I wasn't able to follow the instructions exactly as noted in the original link I posted above.
The terminal command, specifically wget would not work - there is no wget.
I manually downloaded the Java 1.5 version, by following the link (just clicked on it). I 'unzipped' it and moved it into the library/frameworks/JavaVM.framework/versions folder.
So now the 1.5.0 is not an alias (as it is by default in SL), but the older version of Java.
I then followed the instruction related to changing the order in JAVA PREFERENCES.
The final stop - and I think this is key, is that I forced Safari to start in 32 bit mode. You can do this by going to Applications, highlighting Safari and hitting CMD-I. Then check the 32 bit option.
Start Safari, go to the appropriate URL and login. The Java Secure Application Manager should then start as it used to do in Leopard. You should be all set.
Hope this helps - let me know if someone has questions.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't launch

Running Mac OSX Lion on Macbook Pro with Adobe Creative Cloud. When  I try to launch Acrobat Pro, Application Manager tries to launch, but no options come up. Happens every time I try to launch Acrobat, so Acrobat won't work. Suggestions? I noticed there is no uninstall for Application Manager. Can I just trash it and try to reinstall?

    Hi Dave,
Has Acrobat X ever worked? I wouid try running the uninstaller for Acrobat from  Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers if avaiable, rebooting, and then launching the Adobe Application Manager first from within Applications and then reinstalling Acrobat.

  • Application Manager won't launch

I am trying to download the apps, but the Application Manager keeps unexpectedly quitting, everytime I try.  I am using a 4 year old Mac laptop OSX is 10.5.8.

Hi Panic1409, minimum requirements for AAM is 10.6.8
You need to upgrade your MAC.

  • Adobe application manager won't open

I just subscribed to Adobe Cloud CC , but my download won't work because Adobe application Manager won't launch.
    Any suggestions ?

The Adobe Application Manager is normally started from Photoshop menu Help>Updates.  Is this what you referring  to or are you referring to the Creative Cloud desktop application?

  • Juniper Secure App Manager doesn't launch

Does anyone know if JSAM still requires Java 5.0 and Safari 4.0.3?
I had been looking at the below thread, as Juniper's plugin won't load for me (running Java 6 and 4.0.4, tried running in 32-bit), still saying "secure app manager could not launch"
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2155339&tstart=117

The Juniper SAM still requires Java 5.0 for me. I upgraded Java last week, and JSAM failed, so I went back to using the old version of Java and it works fine again.

  • Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install on my computer after I signed up for Adobe CC tonight. I am currently using the CS5 suite (perpetual license) and do not want to uninstall any of the programs until I am successfully running the Adobe CC versions. The AAM gives me an error message saying that it failed to open when I select it, and the creative cloud installer fails to install. I have tried restarting my computer. Help? This is very frustrating. I am a student and use this software on a daily basis, and can't afford to not have these programs available when I need them.

  • Application manager won't install and freezes almost immediately.

I am on a Mac OSX Lion. I just bought creative cloud and the Application Manager won't start. I am connected to the internet. Every time I start it up it initializes and then begins download but nothing happens. I have tried redownloading several times but end up having to Force Quit.
Would love some help! What do I do?
    Thanks

No error messages are appearing. It literally just looks like the below image for hours. When I click quit it doesn't shut down. When I into Force Quit it does not say "not responding", but forcing it to quit is the only way to get rid of it. And my internet connection is stable as far as I can see.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop frozen/spinning wheel after updated version April 22,2015; Adobe Application Manager won't sign in either - Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3

I cannot update any apps via Creative Cloud Desktop Application just prior to nor after the April 2015 updated.
I've tried everything listed in support forums, including:
    uninstallation
removal of the AAMUpdater and OOBE folders in both the user and system libraries
use of the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
enabling the root user and cleaning everything out there and reinstallation from the root account
and reinstallation of both the Application Manager as well as Creative Cloud Desktop...multiple times.
I've also tried out the instructions to uninstall Java and reinstall the latest version of Java.  I have looked through every iteration of these issues on several support forums, and tried everything that has supposedly "worked" to get Creative Cloud Desktop back up and running.
I am on Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3.
I also can't sign in via the Application Manager, with message that I am not connected to the internet.  I can launch the versions of Photoshop CC 2014, Illustrator CC 2014, Lightroom 5, etc., but when I try to sign in to any of those applications, the Adobe Application Manager launches, asking for a sign in, and then won't connect...no matter what.  I have tried doing this from the root account with the firewall temporarily disabled as well.  I do not have internet connection problems whatsoever, and all other applications, browsers, etc., can reach all aspects of the internet just fine.
The most peculiar thing: I have another Creative Cloud installation on my MacBook Pro with the same version of Yosemite, and everything is loading and working just fine, with all the latest updates.  Duplicate installation for my laptop, and yet my iMac with the same installation won't work at all.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I've attempted to repair permissions the usual way, as well as through a complete cleanup via Onyx.  Still no dice.
Creative Cloud Desktop was working previously, for quite a few months (with the occasional "can't connect" and inability to load the App Update panel, which seems to plague the software constantly anyway...but at least it worked intermittently) well after I installed Yosemite.
This is a more recent issue...just a few days ago...before installing the update, as well as after.

  • Application Manager won't allow me to open programs

I uninstalled and reinstalled everything per Adobe's suggestion.  I am still having the problem.  I bought a hard copy of the software and installed it after uninstalling Creative Cloud.  This worked fine for a few months.  Now, however, when I try to launch an Adobe program, the Application Manager opens and asks me to renew my subscription.  If I close that window, my program won't open.
Adobe tech help suggested I try uninstalling App Manager, and if that didn't work to reinstall CS6.  So I uninstalled App Manager, but when I went to uninstall CS6..... guess what program I needed?  So I had to download App Manager again in order to uninstall and reinstall CS6.  But now I'm right back in the same situation.
Does anyone know a fix for this?

  • Application Manager won't open

I have had Creative Cloud for over a year, today I tried to open an INDD file I brought home from my work computer, but it wouldn't open as it had been created with a newer version on INDD. Went to the CCC desktop application but it wouldn't open, then it completely quit. I tried to open Appplication manager but it just won't launch at all.
    Please help!

    Hi HollyRocc,
Kindly provide the version of OS that you are using so that we can help you appropriately.
Meanwhile, I would suggent the below mentioned steps
Uninstall Creative Cloud desktop App and application manager using Cleaner tool.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
    Re-install Creative cloud.
Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps
If there are any issues installing creative cloud, try: Troubleshoot Creative Cloud download and install issues
Once your issue with Creative Cloud would resolve we would try to help you with INDD file as well.

  • Adobe app manager won't launch

    Hi there,
I'm trying to download additional software from the creative cloud.  When the adobe site launchers the app manager on my mac, two red icons bounce - as if loading - then disappear.
How to do i get the app manager to launch correctly, or is there another way i can download the software.
    thanks

Install the latest version of Adobe Application Manager 6.2 from the below link and try downloading the applications.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
In case of same issue, Go To adobe.com and Download the trial version of the software you are attempting to install. Once installed, sign in using the Adobe ID assigned to your Creative Cloud Membership.
