JScrollBar track not taking Windows system color

When a Scroll Bar appears in a JScrollPane, the track color of the Scrollbar does not always take the Windows system track color when the windows background color is changed. Try setting the Scheme in Control Panel to 'Rose'. When Scheme setting changed to 'Spruce' it just works fine.
Note: Thumb color gets changed appropriately in all cases.

Maybe best to restore the hard disk in that new computer to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. See the section Recovering the Internal Storage Drive, which begins on p. 53 of the User's Guide.

Subtitle track turns monitor window into color noise?!

As soon as I added a subtitle track to my encore 1.5 project, the monitor window turns into colored noise.

The video noise seems to be an upside down image (of a performer on stage).
If I play the video, it turns normal, but the audio track sometimes play normal, sometimes it becomes a constant sine wave.
What's going on?

A work around is to remove the transcode. However, as I add more subtitle into the track, I run into a "out of memory" pop up. Subsequently, the cursor (red line) redraw leaves behind some un-erased lines, and the bottom border of the subtitle track sometimes is not drawn. Drag-resizing the subtitle also does not redraw until the mouse is released.
Did I really run out of memory? I have 2G on this machine. Or is this an encore config issue? I looked but did not find any memory configuration options.

I've been having trouble with my Satellite C855-1EL lately and now can't even boot up Windows.

For successful OS installation HDD must be recognized by BIOS and listed there. If I understand you right HDD is not listed in BIOS settings.
Is this correct?
Try to set BIOS to default settings and check it again. If there is no some hardware related issue HDD must be recognized. In case that HDD is not visible for BIOS your next step could be HDD exchange and test with new HDD inside.
By the same result Im afraid you need professional help. It is possible that HDD controller is defective.

SRM's WDJ application is not taking custom theme

Hi All,
I'm working on the Portal branding. We have SRM BP deployed in our portal. I've created custom theme and desktop for the user.
I'm able to see the portal's different section as per custom theme. WDA/WDJ application's UI which is opening in the content area of portal is also showing as per theme.
When I'm trying to access the SRM BP portal content which is the collection WDA/WDJ application, inside portal content area showing as per theme. But one WDJ Iview related to MDM catlog data is opening in new window, in that WDJ UI is not taking custom theme color. UI is showing default theme "tradeshow".
I tried few SAP note(Note 1446099 - Web Dynpro application not displayed in customer theme) to synch the patch of portal and WDJ stylsheet but no luck.
Pl share your input to solve the issue.

Installation of SAP Netweaver trial on not englisch windows OS

I'm trying to install SAP Netweaver Portal trial on a not english version of Windows XP (German version). I get following warn message from the installation checker:
Checking the names of selected well-known groups. The following names were expected: "everyone, users, guests, power users". The following names were found: "jeder, benutzer, gäste, hauptbenutzer". If they do not match, it is most probably because you are not using an English international version of Windows but a localized one instead. Only English international versions of Windows are supported. See also SAP Note 362379. (Updated 2005-06-24)
Is that not possible to install the trial on a not english windows system ?

I think before you install, you have to change your winows language set to English at control panel.
In my case, I've installed trial version ABAP and JAVA on Japanese Windows, and it works perfect.

Firefox 3.6.13 not changing themes, taking a forced color scheme.

I've got two issues that I have a hunch are tied together -
#1:
Firefox 3.6.13 won't accept a new theme - any theme. I've done a full uninstall/reinstall, launch in admin mode, uninstall the themes, uninstall the themes from safe mode, and done a complete nuke (deleting profile directories, all info under appdata/programdata, etc) and reload, and see the same problem. It's always on the default theme.
#2:
Color overrides aren't working. I use a modified high-contrast theme in Windows 7 (not using Aero Glass) with black window backgrounds. Even though I've turned on "Allow pages to choose their own colors" and turned off "Use system colors" (and tried every combination thereof), and tried specifying background colors within FF, I get no results. It still uses the system background and font colors.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's certainly saving most other preferences, just not activating themes or using assigned colors.
I closed FF, deleted prefs.js, and tried again but got the same results. I know it deleted the prefs as when I reopened firefox it took me to the default start page, which is not what was configured previously. I have no user.js file to test. I'm also not running any of the mentioned AV software.
Ultimately the problem remains. Look forward to any more suggestions -

Why is my gradient window well colors not showing up when I go to change some of the colors in my text face?

I get this behavior when there are multiple settings applied to the characters in the text object (knowingly set or not).
Quick fix, select all the characters, and chose a gradient from the drop down menu. This will apply the same gradient to all the characters and thus enable you to edit the gradient when all characters are selected.
Or, you can try selecting individual characters while watching the gradient editor to try and track down which character (or characters) is set to a different gradient setting.

Instant Client on 64-bit Windows 7: Driver does not appear in System DSN

Instant Client on 64-bit Windows 7: Driver does not appear in System DSN tab when creating a new Data source.
What I did so far:
I downloaded the basic and odbc zips for Window 64-bit.
Unzipped the basic zip.
Unzipped the odbc zip to the same directory.
Added the dir path to the System Environment Variable called Path.
Double-clicked on the odbc_install.exe to run it from Windows Explorer.
Then I tried to add the driver to create a new data source but it does not appear in the list of drivers.
From a cmd window, I navigated to the instant client directory and tried to run odbc_install again.
I got the message: Oracle ODBC Driver with same name already exists.
What am I missing?

Does not start windows and just show me the HP System recovery window

I have a HP G60-445DX Notebook PC. When I start the PC just open the Recovery Manager and does not open windows.
I have an upgrated Windows Vista to Windows 7 version and do not have any installation CD just the ones which were send for the upgrade (HP Upgrade Manager and Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Media).
I do not want to run the System Recovery since I need to recover some files. How can I run windows? I do not have any installation CD and if I need which one Vista or Windows 7? Could you please advise me?

Java daemon on boot: "This user is not allowed access to the window system right now."

The daemon is located in /Library/LaunchDaemons/ and launches successfully on most occasions. However, it sometimes fails to start with this error:

I have the server command running as a background daemon using its "nogui" option (the developers claim to have written it to not display a gui). However, it seems that somewhere along the line, Java is trying to display something. As the daemon is running before users log in, it gives this error. Once a user is logged in to the system, it runs fine; however, logging in a user to run the server is not an option. It needs to run on boot.
Any ideas for how to solve this? I'm going to contact the developers to see if it may be something they can fix, but I want to be able to force the issue in case the problem ever occurs in the future.

Irrespective of any claims by the developer, this certainly appears to be a test case that shows that the tool is not working as expected, and that the application has a bug. This test case would be better if there was some evidence around why only some of the startups fail, but in general this will involve what's been suggested earlier: "Contact the application developer."
As some general background on what's involved, see daemons and agents and related; processes that are not allowed to connect to the GUI for reasons of security.
I'd also suggest testing your DNS, as seeing "server.local" can imply local DNS configuration errors. Launch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and issue the following harmless diagnostic command and see if it reports no changes, or if it detects network or DNS errors:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
If this is OS X Server and a NAT'd network, you do not want to reference any DNS servers located off of your NAT'd network.
Why DNS? Because DNS errors can cause only some operations to fail, particularly if there's more than one DNS server selected (and where some subset of the DNS servers are malfunctioning or misconfigured).

When trying to save the budget of any unit a BSP page is opening with following error.

We have a problem related search help of Preferred supplier. When the preffered supplier is selected, inturn we will get another screen with lot of other options.
When the search help for Purchasing org ID is selected, we are getting the error as "Sending of dynpro SAPLSDH4 0200 not possible: No window system type specified".
I have debugged, but did not get any clue. Could any one please let us know if any one have any idea.
We are using SRM 6.0, Web dynpro ABAP.

Upon clicking dictionary search help PREM tagged to "Personnel Number" input field in Web Dynpro ABAP application, error message "Sending of dynpro SAPLSPRI 0100 not possible: No window system type is specified." is encountered. This error message is displayed within the message area and not a short dump. This error message is only occuring for some users.
Does anyone knows how to resolve this error message?

I thnk the search help exit is implemented in search help PREM in your system. If the code in exit in written in such a way that under some conditions it is calling any ABAP screen, it will throw error in webdynpro ABAP environment. Condition in the exit might be reaching for some users under certain cases.
Open the PREM help in SE11 and check the function module mentioned in Search help exit section. It might also contain another call to F.M which might be calling a ABAP screen. If this is the case, this error cannot be fixed as WD ABAP dont support ABAP screen call.
