I am new to Photoshop, any recommended book to follow to learn?  Or what's the best way to learn how to use Photoshop?

The "CLassroom in a Book" is a pretty good start. Also be sure to download the PDF of the User Guide (not sure if it's up for CS6 yet).
A lot depends on what your background is, and what you mainly want to use Photoshop for - design, retouching, animation, etc.

Media Manager (available from the File menu bar item) will consolidate all elements of your project together with a linked copy of the project file to a single folder in a location of your choice. There are various options to leave out unused footage, include handles etc. Safest way is to copy the files. Delete the originals when you are sure the copy works.

  • Recommended Books to learn Labview?

I want to write a Labview program that controls an HP 4277A LCZ
meter over an HPIB from a PC. It is a simple program, and I'd like
to put off the NI Labview classes because I'm just too busy right
    now.
The program should be very simple. It will let the user enter a
voltage range, then tell the HP4277A to output each voltage
looping through the voltage range. At each voltage point it will
wait for things to settle, take capacitance and conductance
readings of the DUT, store these values in arrays. When the loop
is completed, it will graph the C vs V, Cond. vs. V, and so ther
result of some math on the C vs. V curve, and store the array data
    to a disk file.
Can anyone recommend books that would help me pick up Labvie
    w
programming? I have 5 yrs. VB experience.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Question:
How well do these books apply to LabView 5.1? That is the version I have
.... I am an experienced programmer (C++, VB) but a LabView 'newbie', and
have a few 'version specific' books on my shelf that become obsolete as the
    next language revision comes out.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Recommended books on Compositing?

    Hi there,
I am beginning to feel very comfortable with most of the basics in FCE, but am still having a hard time grasping compositing. I have Tom Wolsky's great book and that really did wonders for my understanding. Are there any other recommended books out there that go into depth on compositing and the more advanced techniques?
    Really appreciate your help!
    Thanks!
    Karen

    Hi Karen,
You may want to check this book called "50 fast FCE techniques by tim meehan", I think you can find it on Amazon and browse some first pages before buying (or have a look at it in your local bookstore, if available). Good Luck.

  • Recommended  book on EBP

    Hi all,
Got to know about you through your valuable inputs in Knowledge management regarding SRM. Currently I am working on SRM 5.0 Configuration. I am trying to replicate vendor and material data from IDES R/3 system. However, when I employ the transaction "BBPGETVD" for getting the vendor data, the system does not identify the vendor root organization I have created. I have put in all the needed attributes settings for the vendor root thru the transaction "PPOMA_BBP"..
Regarding the material download, are there a sequence of pre-requisite steps which I would need to employ to replicate the data from R/3?
I am also looking for the EBP configuration guide (latest). Can anyone tell me any recommended  book on this?
    Regards,
    Sonali

    Hi Sonali,
In SRM5.0, YOU NEED TO CREATE A SEPERATE ROOT ORGANIZATION for VENDOR in PPOCV_BBP.
    After creating vendor root organization.
Run: BBPGETVD, this will ask for org.unit, put the org.unit of ROOT VENDOR.
Then you can see your vendor in PPOMV_BBP.
Before replication pls ensure vendors are not blocked in R/3, and IMP. you have maintained Purchasing data for that vendor in R/3.
    Best Regards,
    ANIL RAJPAL.

  • Recommended books for Oracle 10g

I'm new to this group, so my apologies in advance if this is not the appropriate group for this question. If it is not, please steer me in the right direction. Thanks!
Here's my situation: I'm currently a Microsoft SQL Server developer and have been for about 6 years, so I'm fairly conversant with SQL. Our company is in the process of purchasing an application that runs under Oracle 10g, and I need to learn as much as I can as quickly as I can about 1) being the Oracle DBA for our (small) company, and 2) developing in Oracle SQL.
Are there any specific books some of you would recommend for my particular situation (beginning level Oracle user, intermediate/advanced in SQL)? Any and all advice/suggestions/help will be gratefully accepted.
    Thanks in advance --
    Carl

First thing I would recommend is going in the OTN and download the 2 day dba article
and the top 20 Oracle 10g features

  • NEWBIE QUESTION: Recommended Books or Videos?

know nothing about logic, just purchased express... can anyone recommend a great book, site, video for learning? thanks!

Vtc has excellent tutorials, you can buy the cd or pay 30.00 a month for unlimited video tutorials in over 300 software programs, I learned how to use Sonar, Ableton, and A few Adobe and Macromedia prgrams. Now I am using logic now that I have an Apple G5 (5 days new) , which I find to be a lot easier to learn after taking the other tutorials, I was able to start recording from day 1 with Logic. I am not trying ro make this a DAW debate, but I prefer some of the features in Logic and some of the features in Sonar, either one will get the job done, but checkout VTC, you can even try out the first 5 or more lesson for free.

What books do you recommend me except that from Steve O'Hearn? I saw there are quite a lot of advanced SQL books on Amazon. Which one a must have without PL/SQL or other programming language?

  • Recommended book for SCWCD

    Hi,
Can any one suggest me the best book to refer to give the SCWCD certification. I searched the forums but did not find any. I posted in certifications group but I thought posting here might give me quick and accurate reply with most of the java enthus in this group.
SUN recommends SCWCD by Hanumant Deshmukh. I have seen the reviews on this book and are really very bad. Which if these 3 is the best: Book from WROX publications or O'Reilly publications or the above by Hanumant Deshmukh.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks in Advance.

I'd try posting in a few more forums as three is not enough.

  • Can Anyone Recommend Books About Mac and Tiger?

    Hello,
I'm heading back to the homeland for a short visit in a week's time. I'd like to buy a book that can explain a few things about Tiger so I don't always have to visit the Apple Store and bother the Geniuses there.
Can anyone recommend any good books about Mac and Tiger? I know of "Mac For Dummies" but I've never been a big fan of that series. Cheers and thanks.

    Hi, jasperboy.
My "Learning About Mac OS X" FAQ has a number of resources that you will find helpful including books, online training, and more.

  • 1z0-144 PL/SQL Programming Recommended books

    Hello everybody,
I am studying for the 1z0-144 exam, and I need a few suggestions on the study materials.
I have already downloaded the PL/SQL Language Reference guide and Matthew Morris certification guide, and I am wondering whether it is worth investing on one of these two books:
    1) Oracle PL/SQL Programming by Steven Feuerstein and Bill Pribyl (It has very good reviews on Amazon)
    2) Oracle Database 11g PL/SQL Programming (Oracle Press) by Michael McLaughlin  (It does not have good reviews as many readers complain about typos and redundant content)
Alternatively I have also seen the Oracle Database 12c PL/SQL Programming book also by Michael McLaughlin.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
    Michele

    Good Luck,
Well I have both at  McLaughlin(11g) and Feuerstein (5th edition) .... my  Feuerstein is more ragged from use.  Neither of these are exam oriented but are more for learning the language; which is actually what in the end you need to do even more than learning the exam.  McLaughlin has stuff in it which usually at any point in time I really don't what to know.  I'm reluctant to recommend Mclaughim over Feuerstein for the versions I have if for no other reason than the font, layout and structure works better from Feuerstein for me.
Both of these books have editions are out for 12cR1 and consider getting the latest.  Getting an earlier edition cheap second hand might work as well.  At present on Amazon UK the latest Feuerstein on kindle is just over half the price of the paperback ... sometimes I find some books are not on good on kindle etc but Feuerstein is a lump to cart around.
Don't discount putting funnel's the concise expert guide to PL/SQL on your kindle either.
    See what others say anyway.

  • Recommend Books, Helping Material for Adobe Flash CS3 ACE

    Hi fellas
Please recommend me some books, helping material, blogs, links which could be helpful in the preparation of the Adobe Flash CS3 Ace Exam.
    Thanks in advance.

Here is the official Adobe ACE prep resources page.
It lists out each product exam, and gives a link to download a pdf regarding that exam.  The pdf details the breakdown of questions, the number of questions there are, the percentage necessary to pass, and approx 10 sample questions.

  • Recommended Books

Hello, I'm looking for some recommendations on a good
follow-up to the Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 book,
    ISBN: 1418839221.
A book that would follow-up well with the few database, media
and other projects near the end of the Macromedia book. The more
    projects the better.

I think the "Missing Manuals" series offers the most useful
information. I got the one for DW8 and it explained so much for me
    that the DW Help didn't.

Why do you expect us to create duplicate replies, replying to you, when we know they already exist in these forums? There seems to be a strange believe in many people asking this kind of question that "personal opinions" are somehow more useful if they are posted in response to a newly posted question and not posted in response to another identically phrased question.
Or, they could simply be egocentrical douche bags who don't care if they ask the same question that's already been asked a thousand times before.
