JSF Complete Tutorial Required

I want to learn JSF from NOTICE to MASTER and want to learn event driven web development in it. I searched many tutorials,but i am not satisfied with them. Please help me.

1. Which Adobe product are you using Acrobat or Adobe reader- what is the complete version?
2. How are you opening and saving the PDF, the exact workflow?
Are you doing it from within Adobe Reader/Acrobat application or opening it from browser, doing changes and saving it using browser itself.
3. Can you try to save a PDF to library with Custom template and managed metadata columns using browser directly.
4. Please verify that columns name do not contain spaces or some other special characters.

Catch 22: Learning JDeveloper without a db (tutorial requires connection)

I'm trying to build a database model, to use with XE, to create a web-based application with Apex.
I'm on a Mac. I do not have a windows partition so I cannot run XE. I've ordered a windows based laptop but won't have it for several weeks.
Since I don't have a database on my computer to connect to, I cannot use SQL*Developer.
So, someone suggested I use JDeveloper, to create my tables and database model - on my mac. Fine. After several days, I figured out how to get it running, and I'm trying to go thru the Tutorials.
Particularly, the one titled: Database Development with JDeveloper seemed appropriate.
However, the tutorial requires that I've installed the Oracle Fusion schema, FOD Fusion Order Demo Schema. And, of course, the FOD schema requires - you guessed it - access to an Oracle database!!!
Is there a tutorial around for learning JDeveloper that does NOT required being connected to a database????

1 way would be to use a placeholder data control. You can create a placeholder data control, with the same structure of your original table, feed in the data, and use it temporarily. However, this has certain limitation (not many data types, manual data entry etc).

Have got a Windows Vista basic and had run a a trial version of LR4 on it - just purchased an LR5 without checking out the complete system requirements. Can I get a complete download of LR4 so that the money I've spent is not wasted. I am not interested in upgrading to Windows 7 currently.

There are still retail packs of LR 4 to be found out there - for example, on EBay. It's just important to be careful whether it's a full version, an upgrade, or a student + teacher version. And to be certain it's genuine, and has a serial number which has never been activated before. The serial number that you get with that, should work with any 4.x version of LR, on either MacOS or Windows. And it will almost certainly be heavily discounted compared with the previous price direct from Adobe.
Of course the other way is to upgrade to Windows 7 SP1, which should also be available discounted, and thus eke out the life of an older PC (I personally would not go to Win8 in such a case). Maybe pick up some RAM also, if that's a problem, provided you can do so cheaply (since that will be simply thrown away in due course, when you get a newer PC),
Using LR4 instead of LR5 you do miss out on a few nice features, as well as potentially the Raw support and lens profiles for more recent camera equipment.
LR 4 is obsolete as far as Adobe is concerned. They will not sell a Serial Number for it.

Illustrator CC 2014 - Message - "Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the required operation."

We have 3 Macs OS 10.7.5, 16Gb and are all using Illustrator CC 2014. Since the Macs upgraded to CC 2014 all are exhibiting the same message, at random during deisgn, "Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the required operation.". At this point clicking on the "OK" button causes the screen graphics to appear in outline mode and unable to access / select any further commands, apart from "close".
Reverting back to the initial CC (which is still installed on the systems) shows no problems in completing the designs. Hence it appears that all the above issues seem apparent only since the latest CC upgrade.
Does anyone have any ideas as to this issue and any possible resolutions.

For the last few months, I've been having the exact same problem and it is driving me CRAZY. I finally contacted Adobe a few weeks ago regarding the issue and they had me clear out my preferences. Where Can I Find a Simple and Complete Tutorial?

I am new to the CS5 SDK. The PDF guide that comes with it is USELESS - no full tutorial or complete project.
I found an on-line tutorial by Maria Guiterez at http://my.adobe.acrobat.com/p48386410/?launcher=false&fcsContent=true&pbMode=normal , but even with an excellent Initernet connection the audio is hopelessly choppy.
All I want is to be shown how from scratch to write something like a simple InDesign or Photoshop panel which opens a new doc - I'll figure out the rest from there.
I'd really appreciate help with this.

I am trying to complete the Integrating EJB 3.0 into Web Dynpro Using the EJB Model Importer tutorial that goes with SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 SP3 Developer Studio.
Does anyone ever completed this tutorial because I have problems completing it. The result is very important for me because I need to use this technology for my essay.
In this tutorial you create a button that calls the method StudsBean.getStudent(String). In this method the object student is created and it will be returned. In several labels the information of the returned student should be displayed. But that doesnt happen, when I push the button no error occurs but the labels are still empty. When I try to debug the Enterprise Bean and Web Dynpro application I see that the method StudsBean.getStudent(String) is called and the propertys are set and the student object is returned, but still it isnt displayed.
After discussing this with a colleague I tried to search for a solution on the SDN and of course Google. First I thought I would be a bug but I only found 2 people with the same problem. I found it remarkable because its one of the key subjects of Java EE 5 and its a tutorial displayed in the welcome page of the Developer Studio.
So do you people think its a bug in WebDynpro? Because I am sure that I followed all the steps mentioned (a colleague checked it even).

I guess, it's not a bug in Web Dynpro, maybe it's a bug in the tutorial
I tried something similar, but not following the tutorial and it works. I wasn't able to call the model from the view controller and I guess that's the problem. Take the code from the init-method of the view controller and put it to the component controller's init -method and the code inside the onActionGetStudent and put it into a method you create in the component controller, too. From onActionGetStudent just call this method in the component controller with some code like this:
wdThis.wdGet<your component controller's name>.<your method's name>;

JSF 1.2 required message problem

I got the following code in my jsf 1.2 application:

But although #{messages.username}" is defined and is displayed correctly when using it in an <h:outputText>-Tag, it does not work in the requiredMessage-attribute. If entering a String literal to the requiredMessage-Attribute the literal is shown.

Why does the Measurement Studio C Tutorial require a SHSQL.DLL?

Running the Measurement Studio C++ Tutorial the first time, I get a "requires SHSQL.DLL" error message on execution. I'm under NT 4.0, SP6. Visual Studio 6, SP5. Looking at the Microsoft site, they say SHSQL.DLL is a symbol handler for SQL. Why would a graphical control of a sine wave generator require SQL code at all? And if its truly required, where do I obtain this file?

This DLL must be required by MFC projects and should be installed with Visual Studio. I have no idea why you don't have it on your system, but it should be in the Visual Studio folder under Common\MSDev98\Bin. I attached my copy to this message (I'm using WinXP), but if that DLL is missing there is likely other missing files and issues. I would recommend reinstalling Visual Studio.

Completed Form requires Asian Language Pack w/ no visible Asian characters

Why do Reader users receive a notification requiring them to install the "Asian Language Pack" after I fill out a form and send it? The form has no visible Asian characters.

Fonts listed under Document Properties of the completed form are: TimesNewRomanPSMT (TrueType) & TimeNewRomanPS-BoldMT(Embedded) TrueType.
I neglected to mention that the original form (incomplete) does not require the Language Pack. What settings/preferences can be changed in Acrobat to prevent Unicode (or other unwanted Fonts) from being used when completing the form?

How to lookup what datatype JSF tag component requires?

Kinda beginner question following on my part and not sure I'm asking this in the correct web-page speak?
I just happen to know if I have a tag such as <af:tree>, I know its value attribute requires an instance of oracle.adf.view.faces.model.TreeModel at runtime.
However how do I determine specifically the datatype that the tag-attribute requires at design time? For the majority of tags in JSF/ADF Faces this will be strings, but for tricky tags like <af:tree> how can I work this out?
The tag doco doesn't mention this. Do I need to go to the tag libraries? How would I do this in JDeveloper? Does JDeveloper provide any other help on looking this up?

"the hierarchy of tree data - must be of type oracle.adf.view.faces.model.TreeModel"
As to how I found that? Google. I find ADF documentation very hard to find any other way and often end up googling things like:

JSF 2 : dynamic required validation for different buttons ?

I'm currently learning about jsf 2.0 from core jsf 2.0 book + glassfish + cdi.
I have a question about the validation feature of JSF.
Let's say i have a very simple login application, which has a very simple layout like :
userid : (input field for userid - using required="true")
password : (input secret for password - using required="true")
loginButton + registerButton(using immediate="true") + checkUserIdAvailabilityButton
Now, let's say the loginButton is pressed, and the userid and password are left empty, validation error would occur on both of the fields, and that's working as what i intended.
And when the registerButton is pressed, it doesnt care whether the userid or password is filled by the user, since it's using immediate="true", thus bypassing validation and the command gets executed at the apply request value phase, and that's still working as what i intended.
And here comes my problem .. When the checkUserIdAvailabilityButton is pressed, i only expect the userid to be filled, and i dont need to care about whether the password field is filled or not, but the password field will throw error saying that it's a required field.
Is there anyway to resolve this kind of problem ? I know this could be a very simple application, but in my working place, i think they design lots of screens like this, like the save button along with refresh button with different required fields but the buttons are in the same page.

I agree with the server side approach. I also find it not easy to maintain lots of uncentralized validations on many jsf pages.
For example, validation on the my CustomerName's length could get replicated on hundreds of pages, and when the requirement changes, i have to update many pages.
But doing this on the serverside is not easy either, i suppose, got to have a custom framework to fill the needs. Im thinking of a general validator that could validate when supplied the variable's name, and the validator will know whether the field needs validating on the correctness of the date value, or the length of the fieldname, etc, based on some external configuration that says this variable is a type of date, with max length of this, min value of that, etc.
If i dont have this kind of tools, i'll also replicate all the validations like the CustomerName's case on many bean methods, which i think is not maintainable too.
Do you happen to know whether this kind of validation tools exist somewhere ? I dont think that bean validation framework from jsr 303 would fill my need, am i correct ?
