JSF - mask URL to protect content

Is it possible to mask an URL in JSF such that the server (knows)refers to the actual file while the client is aware of a temporary generated URL?
Let's say, the client requests URL:
www.mydomain.com/temporary_generated_non_existent_folder/file1.flv
The server knows that the requested file is actually located in
www.mydomain.com/real_location/file1.flv
And provides that correct file, while hiding from the client the real URL.
So, if the client tries again that URL, this time the server knows that the URL has been used and is not valid anymore, it provides www.mydomain.com/url_not_valid.htm
Also, on the server side, I cannot load the FLV file into memory and then feed the bytes to the output stream of the http request since the file could be really large.
Thanks

Just a wild guess....
Can't you do that with a filter or so?
Best Regards, Martijn

  • Flash Player 10.3 video playback protected content Error #3343?

I have been streaming videos and movies I have purchased without problems until yesterday when Amazon wouldn't load the video and suggest upgrading Flash Player.
I have an iMac G5 with Intel Core Duo 2 processor and OS X 10.5, so Flash Player 10.3.183.29 is the most up-to-date version my computer can have.
I went to Adobe site and followed instructions for removing the bad Adobe Flash Access DRM module, deployed in 2011. Replaced it with the corrected DRM module. When I ran the test for protected content through the Adobe demo video player, no video played and received message: Error #3343. IV check failed.
What is error #3343? How can this be resolved?
Would greatly appreciate anyone's help on this.
    Thanks.

I have the exact same problem as everyone above. "error #3343 IV check failed".
    OS: OS X 10.5.8
    Flash Version: 10.3.183.29
I wanted to watch a show I bought on Amazon Video, and it told me I need to upgrade my Flash Player. I'm running OS X 10.5.8 so the newest for me is 10.3.183.29. It sucessfully installs and low and behold, Amazon Video tells me that I need to upgrade my Flash Player. I followed all the necessary protocol according to Adobe, deleting all the files in the Native Cash folder, going to the protected video test page, and loading the correct URL into the player. It did put the folder in Native Cache that Adobe said it would, but clearly it doesn't work.
This is clearly a bug in the newest verion of Flash Player for OS X 10.5 users.
Seriously anyone from Adobe or any moderator bring attention to this problem so that it can be fixed. Don't alienate your customers just because they're using an OS that's 5 years old.

  • Unable to install the adobe protected content module

I'm getting an unable to install the adobe protected content module error while trying to watch video on a website I've used millions of times (http://video.citytv.com/video/ ).    I've checked on your link to find that I'm running  version 10.3.183.29 on mac os x 10.5.8 which is the most current flash I can have with my operating system.  I've changed from Chrome, to firefox to safari to watch this site with no luck on any browsers.  I'm getting pretty frustrated.  Please Help.

    Hi Justine,
We're looking into citytv.com and the brightcove setup there.
In the meantime, could you see if "known good" content plays using the Mac OSX setup and player you have?
    1.  Open the Adobe test player http://drmtest2.adobe.com:8080/TVP/TestVideoPlayer_FP.html
    2.  In the URL field, enter http://drmtest2.adobe.com:8080/Content/anonymous.f4v     (case-sensitive)
    3.  Press the [Update Adobe CP] button.  It should log "AdobeCP update Complete. Updating time: xxxx milliseconds" at the right.
    4.  Press the [Play] button and see if you see the Getty Train video playing.
For our internal testing, we were using the 30Rock episode 6, season 7:
    http://video.citytv.com/video/detail/1971593280001.000000/aunt-phatso-vs-jack-donaghy/
What error are you getting during attempted playback?
We assume you're from Canada since CityTV is from Canada.
What we see is:  if we try to play this content from the U.S, it fails to play on any platform (Windows 7, Windows XP, Mac OSX 10.8, 10.5.7 with various browsers & players) but we see no error - just blank video area.
When we use a system in our Canada office, playback works and it also works when we use VPN.   Is it possible there is some issue with checking geo-location?   (are you perhaps inadvertently logged into a VPN to the US during your playback tests?   or traveling?)
    Thanks.

  • Short of dismantling and recreating a page how do i find out whats causing [Error: Invalid URL for Web Content Overlay]

    Hi,
i received an indesign file to include in a folio that had links to the creators desktop where they had the assets for the web content overlay. When i try to update the folio i get the error message:
    "Content generation error.
[Error: Invalid URL for Web Content Overlay]"
    Which is fair enough.
The problem is, i have gone through and changed all URLs that I can see, but there is one somewhere, that I just can't find.
Is there a way to get a list of all web content overlays in a particular file? otherwise i will need to recreate the whole page again, and it has some pretty complex interactions which i rather wouldn't do.
I also cannot ask the original doc creator to just change the links as i'm sure he'll have the same issues as me, at not being able to track down the erroneous link.
The problem I have with DPS is that its not very transparent. you'll have to click on everything, and into every group to see what actions are on it, which can be extremely time consuming and frustrating when complex interactions are included.
thanks in advance for any assistance

I’ve found watching the process helpful to narrow down the page.
Working off a duplicate of the file, delete one layer at a time until you figure out what layer the problem is on.
From there it’s a bit easier to narrow down.

  • Invalid URL for Web Content Overlay. Help?

I am doing a french tranlation to an existing folio app that someone else created.
There is one page in my folio that is comprised of garbage and a trash can. You touch the garbage and drag it into the trash, and things change, etc.
I have an index.html file and a bunch of other images.
I can't even successfully add the article to my folio, I get this warning: Content Generator Error. Invalid URL for Web Content Overlay.
Can you walk me through how to get this to work?
Attached is a screen shot of my file structure...

When you specify the .html file, all the content in that folder is uploaded automatically. Here's an article about Web Content overlays:

  • Password Protected Content - Zen Visio

Hi I recently bought a zen vision m which was described as new. However it appears that someone has already set the password for the protected show / hide protected content functionality. Is there anyway of unlocking / resetting this without knowing the password Cheers

  • Wont play protected content

My A-TV won't play any protected content. Anyone else having this problem?

I can stream perfectly well as long as it is stuff that I loaded off a CD or other MP3 file. Anything purchased from Apple won't work. Even when I try to sync instead of stream, it won't load any of the drm protected songs onto A-TV. Everything else works though and since the unit is clearly communicating with the network (because the other songs play etc.) and is operatiing on other songs, there must be some sort of protection communication problem and that's why I'm so concerned about the response from customer service.

  • How can URL links in Content Area be periodically checked ??

Is there an automated way an to check for bad URL links in Content Areas??

    Guy,
You should be able to browse through Oracle9iAS Portal with any link checker available on the market. Some products may only let you check public content.
We have plans to add this functionality to the product directly in a future release.
    Good luck,
    Rich

The question is why do you want to show the URL?
Faces apps don't change the url with each click (as the click might be going into a region).
Can you give us a use case? Do you use bounded task flows?
    JDev version?

  • Creating DRM-Protected Content for Playback in Quicktime

I would like to create some protected audio content, not for sale, but so that only authorized persons can listen to it. Since I have had problems with Windows Media DRM, I am wondering whether a private person can create DRM-protected content that Quicktime can play back. I don't know how authorizations would work and I am not intending to stream the content, just to make it available for download.
Does anyone know about this? Any ideas? A series of Google searches on Apple's website produced nothing relevant.

Sorry, but there is no scheme for creating copy protection in a QuickTime file, at least none that are practical. There was Media Keys, but that was only supported by the SorensonVideo 3 codec. Apple has not made the DRM they use for the iTunes Store available to other users.
The only way I can think of to copy-protect a QuickTime file for a web site would be to either put the download on a password-protected web page or wrap the QuickTime file in a password-protected archive of some format (Stuffit can password-protect an archive and there are probably other solutions as well).

Well, if you have everything saved onto your computer, things transfered onto your player are already backed up. If not, sync your player to tranfer everything onto your computer using Creative's sync manager.

  • ZEN Xtra 40G has problems with protected content bought from MSN Mu

I bought a few albums from MSN Music. These songs are the only ones I have ever had problems with.
Basically When I am playing one of these songs and try to Fast Forward through the song I get a Playback error and the player locks up. Also If am playing one of these songs and shut off the player, when I turn it back on It says the song is playing and there is no music (It is locked up).
Also I have another issue, although it may be by design it is pretty annoying.. If I try to play these songs through media source when I have my Zen extra connected with a USB cable media source returns with. "The selected file is protected and cannot be played in media source".
Anyone else having similar issues with protected content?
I have already upgraded my firmware and driver..
    Thanks,

I've never used WMAs, let alone those with DRM. At a guess the license probably prevents you from copying back to the PC i.e. it's a one way only transfer.
I think you need to check with the music store you bought from as to whether you can download the tracks again to your PC. This is one of the irritating things about WMA and DRM, although perhaps there are methods to back the files and the licenses up. I don't know enough about the technology, but suffice to say for the moment I'm steering clear, buying CDs, and using MP3 to encode them.

  • Cannot play Adobe Access Protected Content in Chrome (version 30 and higher); Error 3321/3322?

    Symptom:
An end-user cannot play Adobe Access protected content.  The client application returns a persistent 3321 (Individualization Error) or 3322 (Device Binding Failure) error code.
    Root Cause in Chrome Browser:
Adobe Access DRM must create a unique machine identifier (I.e. "token") to identify the the device.  This token is provided to the Adobe Access license server during a license request to view DRM protected content.  If Chrome Browser disables the ability for Adobe Access DRM to create a unique machine identifier, playback of Protected Content will fail with a 3321 or 3322 error code.  By default, this setting is enabled and available to toggle in Chrome Browser version 30 and higher.  Unchecking this option will prevent Adobe Access DRM from properly functioning. A 3321 or 3322 error that persists after a call to resetDRMVouchers is an indicator that this setting may need to be changed.
    Resolution:
    In your Chrome settings:
    •             Click on "Show advanced settings…"
    •             In the subsequent "Privacy" section, click on "Content settings…"
    •             In the subsequent "Protected Content" section, make sure that the following box is checked "Allow identifiers for protected content (computer restart may be required)".
We are working with Google to allow better detection of this condition, so that the client will return a 3368 (User cancelled or user settings disallow operation) error code when the box is unchecked.

  • IWeb url fine but masked url fails W3 validator

    the iWeb site is http://web.mac.com/aardvarkvideo/iWeb/thisis_a_scienceproject/
    the masked site is http://thisisascienceproject.com
in safari, both urls show up fine.
but in firefox and some PCs, only the header shows up for the MASK url. The original works fine.
Is this a problem with the host of my mask url? or iWeb?
Holding my breath for some advice...
    Thanks

The code being used to forward to your .Mac url appears to be wrong, in particular the "head" section. Ask the people who made it to run it through the w3c validator and fix it.
