JSF problem Session Scoped and dialog

Hello All! i have one problem with using ajax and session scoped .
I'm using JSF 2.0 and Primefaces for build 2 dialog.
I have one icon to click on it dialog 1 will display and show all list of customers and when i click details of customer on dialog 1, dialog 2 will display , and details of customer show base on <h:form>
but my problem is when i click details of customer with id #1 it not show details of customer it return null, i must refresh this page and click on customer #1 and it display, but when i click on customer with id #3 it still display customer with id #1,and i must refresh page again to view customer with id #3 and after that if i want see details of other customer such as customer with id #5 i must click and refresh page, after refresh page i click on any id of customer if always show the last id of customer before refresh page, it mean because i use p:commandButton with ajax and 2 dialog inside one page, i know , if using session scoped i must pass value from one page to another page. But i want get id in the same page with session scoped this mean when i use p:commandButton call dialog 2 for pass id value from dialog one to dialog two it will get value don't refresh page . How can i do it? or can i call dialog from another show on the same page contain dialog 1?

For Example, i need to no.of times handleApplyShippingGroups is being called by a User (Session scoped) and write a condition based on that value whose effect is to that User only? But, ShippingGroupFormHandler's scope is "Request"? How to get through this?

Hi,
You can use the below logic.
In ShippingGroupFormHandler.properties
$class = your.custom.Shippinggroup.fomhandler
profile=/path/to/your/profile/component
In YourShippingGroupFormHandler.java
Inside handleApplyShippingGroups(),
//increment the value
getProfile.setApplySgCallCount(getApplySgCallCount()++);
Before that, add the property - applySgCallCount - to your profile with getter and setters.

Problem with Frameset and page session

All,
I am having a problem with Framesets and page session attributes. I
have a client who's application uses a three frame frameset. They
have a requirement on several pages that when a button is pushed two
different pages load into the right and left frames. The way they
are accomplishing this is that on the pages were this is required,
they are adding target="_top" to the form declaration in their JSP.
Then they store the page names they want to display in session,
forward the request to the frameset, the frameset then determines
which pages to display based on the session variables. This works
exactly how they want it to.
Here is our problem. We need to store some information in page
session attributes. We have tried to get a handle to the desired
view bean and call the setPageSessionAttribute method. However,
since we are forwarding to the frame and the frame handles displaying
the desired JSP, that view bean we had the handle to is not the one
that is created to hand the display of the JSP.
The next thing I tried was to use the request object. In the
handleBtnRequest method, I set an attribute in the request object. I
then query the request object in the beginDisplay event of the view
bean. When the frame is reset the request object does not contain
the attribute that I have set. I'm confused by this because I
thought the request object would be available to me throughout the
life of the request.
Given the above information, does anyone have any suggestions? Also,
am I going about this in the wrong manner.
The client had been storing this information in user session, which
seemed to work. However, since the data being stored dealt
specifically with data for the requested page, we felt that storing
it as page session was more appropriate.

Session state and browser cache - Back button problem

Hi all,
I have a problem (and unless I'm missing something I think we all do) with session state and use of the browser's Back button. I really hope I'm just being dumb...
Background scenario:
Page P has a sidebar list allowing the user to select what content is displayed (e.g. 'stuff relating to X, Y or Z' where X, Y and Z are rows in, say, a table of projects). When a list entry is clicked, we branch to page P with the value of the list item placed in an application-level item (call it G_PROJECT). Reports on page P use G_PROJECT in their WHERE clauses.
So, click list entry X and G_PROJECT is set to X and page P shows reports for project X.
Page P also has a set of buttons which branch to various edit pages which allow attributes of page P's current project to be updated. These pages similarly use G_PROJECT in their WHERE clauses.
Problem scenario:
1. The user goes to page P and picks project X off the list. Project X's stuff is displayed (G_PROJECT = X).
2. The user then picks project Y off the list. Project Y's stuff is displayed (G_PROJECT = Y).
3. The user then clicks the browser's Back button. The page is served from browser cache, so project X's stuff is displayed, but G_PROJECT still = Y.
4. The user clicks an 'Edit' button; we submit, and branch to an edit page which displays (and will edit) data for project Y because G_PROJECT still = Y.
This is SERIOUSLY BAD NEWS - apart from being confusing, the user's edit permissions on projects X and Y may differ, and so the user may be able to perform 'illegal' updates.
I've read what I can on this forum and the rest of the web looking for ways to a) inhibit browsers' 'Back' functions and/or b) prevent pages being cached by the browser, but none of them have worked for me.
Short of waiting for browser manufacturers to recognise that the web is now full of applications as well as static pages, and enable robust programmatic control of cache behaviour, does anybody know how the problem can be avoided - or at least detected?

I may be being dumb here but I don't see how that would help...
P250_PROJECT and G_PROJECT are currently kept in sync by app logic. Whichever is used to drive, if the page is rendered from cache then the app logic is not executed, so the rendered page contents are not those keyed by P250_PROJECT, as illustrated in steps 1-4 of the problem above.
The user sees X, the session items say Y. The engine doesn't know what the user is seeing.
when page P is POSTed, its hidden item P250_PROJECT should always be used to derive the application item G_PROJECT. Then whether the page was pulled from cache or rendered anew via a click from the sidebar link, the project ID is determined by the contents of that page.
As I said above I tried this, with the 'Edit' branch set to:
Set these items: G_PROJECT
With these values: &P250_PROJECT.
but it makes no difference. The project ID is not determined by the rendered page contents - the engine gets the value of P250_PROJECT from session state.
I can code the 'Edit' pages such that they check permissions and if necessary redirect back to p250 (conditional before-header branch), but that's a clunky cure rather than the prevention I was hoping for.
Please tell me if my understanding is incorrect.

Problems with URLConnection and sessions

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with some applet - php communication. We have a website that you log in to. The website is in php, and I have no idea what it does, because another guy is handling it. My applet takes in information about the session id and stuff like that, and whenever I want to communicate with a page, I send the id and the requests using a post method. I've got a simple post method which writes a string to a url, then opens an input stream from that connection. Here's the code:

I was hoping that some of you might have some insight as to what the problem is, and if there is something on the applet side I should change to make it work. If it is the php side, then sorry for wasting your time, and hopefully the other guy will catch it.

Your are logged in to the site in PHP.
On the site is an applet.
When the applet connects back to the site (and you are not using the session or login here) the BROWSER loses it's session.
Is this correct?
If so the problem is some shoddy PHP coding. A session or whatever it is that they are actually doing is maintained using HTTP cookies. The browser's cookies are not being wiped by the Applet. What I suspect is happening is that the PHP is doing something with IP addresses and is wiping the browser session when the applet connects from the same address. Which is a mistake for a bunch of reasons.
If it's something else then please explain what.

Using Query String Parameters with Session Scoped bean

I would like to pass query string parameters from a product page (user clicks on a specific product commandLink) that is request scope to a details page that is session scoped.
The problem is that the session scoped page only handles the first request. If you view the details of a product and then navigate back to the product page and choose another product ... the details page will not handle the new query string parameters and display the details for the first product chosen.
Is there a way to make the session scoped bean recognize the query string parameters past the first request?

I was able to replicate this problem with a very simple app that performs a redirection... just like the real app. Here's the simple app that I put together:
From request scope page:

Are session-scoped beans singleton

Hi all, I miss something in the bean lifecycle within JSF. Assume that a page action navigates toward another page, linked to a session-scoped bean: this is created for the duration of this session. Then a button leads back to the original page, so that another action will lead to another page with its associated bean. Is this a new bean or the previous one ?
This question is linked to the topic of bean dependencies through managed properties: it works fine, but since a bean is declared per class and not per instance, I miss the overall instantiation philosophy.

Once the bean is created the first time in session, it will not be created again (until the session dies and you attempt to access the bean again of course).
So in your scenario, the first time you access the page the bean gets created. When you go back and then go forward to the page again, a new bean is not created. The originally created one is re-used. Which means the constructor is not called again.

Session Scoped obSSOCookie

Hi all,
In my application if the user clicks on the "Sign Out" link, the obSSOCookie is removed. Later when the user logs into the site with the same browser, every thing work perfectly. But if the user closes the browser without properly signing off, I see some strange results when the user logs in next time in the same browser.
How can I configure the webgate to create a Session scoped obSSOCookie? I mean the obSSOCookie has to be removed when the user close the browser (without siging off properly).

Hi Rajesh,
By default, the ObSSOCookie is a session cookie. The problem might be your browser - in Firefox and other such tabbed browsers, browser instances share cookies and even closing the browser does not get rid of it. You can try using a HTTP tracing tool to verify that the ObSSOCookie is still there even when you "close" the browser and try logging in the next time.

It is basic Expression Language (EL) functionality, it isn't even specific to JSF. And it isn't specific to the session scope either, you can put beans in any scope (page, request, session, application, flash, conversation, whatever custom scope you create) and reference it using EL by only its name. The thing that you have to take care of is that the bean lives in SOME scope, which can be achieved using JSF specific annotations or configuration files, through CDI or by manually putting the bean in a specific scope through Java code. It's flexible, which is the nature of the Java platform.

We call the transaction FB01 2000 times (once for each record posting) and if the processing fails in record no 3 it can be captured and start with reocord 4.
Eg: Loop at itab.

In the session method.
We do not explicity call the transaction 2000 times, but all the records are appeneded into a session and this session is stored. The processinf of the session is done wwhenever the user wants it to be done. Hence the errors cannot be captured in the program itself

Batch Input Session method is asynchronous as told by others here. But the advantage of this is that you have all the error messages and the data for each transaction held persistantly. You don't have to code anything for processing them or writing the logs.
But at the same time, the same feature can be disadvantageous if you need to react to an error or if there are too many errors to manually correct in a session. Since the session are created in the program and its execution is done seperately, you loose the trackability of such transactions.
With a call transaction, what was a disadvantage above will become an advantage. Call transaction immediately gives you messages back and you can react to it in your program. But the disadvantage is that, if you have several hundreds of transactions to run, running them from within the program can be resource crunching affair. It will hamper the system performance and you cannot really distribute the load. Of course, you have some mechanisms with which you can overcome this, but you will have to code for it. Also, storing the messages and storing the errored transaction data etc will have to be handled by you in the program. Whereas, in batch input session, your program's job is to just create the session, after that everything is standard SAP system's responsibility.
Ideally, you should do a call transaction if the resources are not a problem and if it fails, put the errored transaction into a session.
You can decide based on the data volume that your BDC is processing. If data volume is high go for session else call transaction will do.The call transaction updates will be instantaneous where as session needs to be processed explictly after creation.
Session Method
1) Session method supports both small amount of data aswell as large amount of data
2) data processing is asynchronus and data updation is synchronus.
3) it process multiple apllication while perfomaning validations.

Problem with item and/or data during page-processing-PS/SQL

On my page I have a custom report (from 2 tables) and a small form-field, that adds and edits data in the report. After generating the form with the wizard I added an extra item, to store the id from one of the tables from the report data.
Now, on submit a calculation should take place, that updates data according user input with a procedure in Page-Prosseses:

As I understand, that process should also run, when I submit a chance, but nothing happens then.
But when I try to save a new record (which worked without any problems before adding that process), I get this error message:
ORA-06550: line 1, column 64: PL/SQL: ORA-00957: duplicate column name ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
Error Unable to process row of table TBL_TURNIERSIEGER.
Then, when I go back into the app-builder and try to run the page again, I get this message:
ORA-01403: no data found
Error Unable to fetch row.
I am not sure, if you guys have all the information you need, to know whats going on. Maybe this has to do with session-id and the whay, items are updated. I hope you can help me.

1. You may try to just register 'dts.dll' using regsvr32.exe, but this error may indicate a bigger problem with setup.
If you are running SQL Server 64bit then try running this at the command prompt: %windir%\syswow64\regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\dts\binn\dts.dll"
2. You can try reinstall from start (In this case you have to make sure that you un-install all)

Problem with trigger and entity in JHeadsart, JBO-25019

I am using JDeveloper 10.1.2 and developing an application using ADF Business Components and JheadStart 10.1.2.27
I have a problem with trigger and entity in JHeadsart
I have 3 entity and 3 views
DsitTelephoneView based on DsitTelephone entity based on DSIT_TELEPHONE database table.
TelUoView based on TelUo entity based on TEL_UO database table.
NewAnnuaireView based on NewAnnuaire entity based on NEW_ANNUAIRE database view.
I am using JHS to create :
A JHS table-form based on DsitTelephoneView
A JHS table based on TelUoView
A JHS table based on NewAnnuaireView
LIB_POSTE is a :
DSIT_TELEPHONE column
TEL_UO column
NEW_ANNUAIRE column
NEW_ANNUAIRE database view is built from DSIT_TELEPHONE database table.
Lib_poste is an updatable attribut in TelUo entity, DsitTelephone entity, NewAnnuaire entity.
Lib_poste is upadated in JHS table based on TelUoView
I added a trigger on my database shema « IAN » to upadate LIB_POSTE in DSIT_TELEPHONE database table :

- but in JHS table-form based on DsitTelephoneView the lib_poste is not updated. If I do a quicksearch it is updated.
- in JHS table based on NewAnnuaireView the lib_poste is not updated. if I do a quicksearch, I have an error:
oracle.jbo.RowAlreadyDeletedException: JBO-25019: The row of entity of the key oracle.jbo. Key [null 25588] is not found in NewAnnuaire.
25588 is the primary key off row in NEW_ANNUAIRE whose lib_poste was updated by the trigger.
It is as if it had lost the bond with the row in the entity.
Could you help me please ?

Problem with HttpURLConnection and HttpSession.
I created a HttpSession object in my main class and then called a URL via HttpURLConnection.
I tried to access the same session object from the servlet called by the URL . but the main session
is not returned a new seperate session is created.let me know how can we continue the same session in
the called URL also which is created in main class.

You are not supported to create a HttpSession by java client. Only J2EE web container can create it.

I am using tiles for displaying jsf pages . Any problem because of using tiles

If I open the url directly its working fine
let say I am opening localhost:8080/test/test.jsf
then it works fine
If i use the same test.jsf along with tiles and open it, then its dispalying all the elements but when i click on commandbutton.. nothin is happening.
