JSP developing in Portal

Hello,
I can't find information about JSP developing in Portal.
Last year I seed all this information:
about provider registering
about portlet personalization and customization
about registering in Apache
about "show" (etc.) modes for portlets
special guidelines for JSP-portlet developing
Yet I find only short (very short) courses. Where is full JSP developing
courses? I seed this last year, but all links doesn't works.
Do you have same information about JSP-portlet developing?
Can you help me?
Best & Regards
Cheslav

  • Saving/Printing all pages of Report developed in Portal....

    Hi friends,
How can I save a Report developed in Portal as soft file?
I know there is a feature in Customizing Report to enter the
File save as Excel and it will try to save file.
    I have 2 questions :
    a) How can I achieve saving the Report as html/ascii/excel file
when it has say 20000 rows ?.
(Because always when I run a report on browser it brings data
when I press "Next" and "previous" buttons.)
    b) If I need to print the Report to printer how can I print all
    pages of Report output?
Thanks a million for your valuable time.
    Sincerely
    Madhav

I also noticed there is a Firmware Upgrade Utility out on HP.COM that addresses a few PJL command issues, so it might be worth checking the Firmware versions on your units to see if you have the latest:

  • Error in JSP DynPage in Portal for running the application

    Hi,
I developed an application on JSP dyn pages(Portal) ie for navigating one page to another page. While iam running an application the following error is occured.
           PAR File is Uploaded.
Please make sure that the server 'myportal' is running.HTTP'S
protocol is not supported, please sure that server is not using

Did you check if Portal is running? If yes,
Do not deploy application directly from NWDS. Just generate the par file by (In Qucik Par Upload)-

    uncheck Deploy par.
    Now go to Portal
    System Administrator->Support->Portal Runtime-> Admin Console.

  • JSP development tools

    hi,
All the while, I'm an ASP Developer, but now have interest to become a JSP Developer. As a beginner, I'm here would like to know, what are the most famous JSP web development tools that are used for most of the JSP developer.
I'm now using notepad. Did do some search on internet, but don't know which are the best.
    PLease help.

If you want a WYSWYG editor, use Macromedia Dreamweaver...it's more oriented to a designer than a developer, but it's the best WYSWYG option...
If you want professional development, the two best IDEs I've tryed are Borland JBuilder 8, and Omnicore Codeguide 6...
Of course, there are too many different options...even open source options...

  • Problem in developing a Portal Activity Report iView

I have developed a Portal Activity Report iView and assigned some iviews to the "Specify Report Content" option! I am supposed to get the user information but instead, I see the message "No content available for the specified period".
       Am I missing anything?
Can someone help me out in this regard!!!

Keep in mind that the Portal Activity Reporting functionality only collects user information from hits to <b>pages</b> that have the <b>Monitor Users</b> property set to true.  You can monitor the number of hits to an iView, but cannot collect user information about those hits.  If you need this kind of information for an iView, I would recommend adding the iView to a page and then collecting the activity reporting information you need from the <i>page</i> hits.
See <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/58/7e234239f75733e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">Configuring iViews/Pages for Data Collection</a> for more information.
    Hope this helps,

  • Where can find documents of  JSP tags of Portal 9.2?

Where I can get documents of JSP tags of Portal 9.2?
I tried to understand the tag <render>, but cannot find the documents. Any input would be helpful.

Yes, you are right with NetUI tags. I can find documents for NetUI on beehive site. However, the <render> tag is part of Portal Framework Rendering, its URI is "http://www.bea.com/servers/portal/tags/netuix/render".
Where I can find documents for such BEA's proprietary tags? Thanks.

    Sim,
I believe there is no specific document/guide for each module. To create and modify web-based pages in Oracle Apps you need to use JDeveloper.
Note: 416708.1 - How to find the correct version of JDeveloper to use with eBusiness Suite 11i or Release 12.x
    https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=416708.1
Note: 330236.1 - Configuring JDeveloper For Use With Oracle Applications 11i and R12
    https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=330236.1
You can also refer to the implementation document/guide of each module (iProcurement, iStore, ..etc) for the customization steps you need to follow (also, see Oracle Application Framework Personalization Guide).
    11i (11.5.10.2+ virtual) Documentation Library

If you have specific module you want to customize, search Metalink for the module name and JDeveloper (for example, Note: 419887.1, 562555.1, 313195.1).

I beg to differ. Please download the file yourself. When you unzip/tar, all that you see are WinNT files and no .a's or binaries that would run on sun. Once again, here are the links

  • Newbie question - Portlet development in Portal using JDeveloper

    Hello.
I've tried to develop a portlet using Oracle JDeveloper, then using it in an Oracle Portal-provided web page.
I'm so really confused... I don't know where to start!
Let'say the portlet is a very simple Hello World static html or jsp page.
What could I do in order to use it in Portal?
Have I to use jpdk? How?
Or have I to deploy it in the Application Server home OC4J as a web application?
Or have I to deploy it in the OC4J_Portal as a web application?
    Or....
If this helps, here is my platform:
I'm using Oracle Application Server 10g Portal as middle-tier. It is correlated to an OID/Infrastructure istance wich provides Single SignOn for the applications, based upon an Oracle 9i database, in which runs Oracle Workflow; my needs are to use a Workflow based Java applications in the Oracle Portal as portlets.
Don't worry: by now, I'm interested in just knowing how to run in the Portal a simple Hello World portlet built with JDeveloper...
    Please, help me.
    Thank you in advance.
    - Umberto

    Hi Umberto,
Did you have a chance to take a look at the Portal Developer's Guide?
The Building Java Portlets chapter walks you through the steps you need to take.
    Good luck,

  • Hosting a Servlet-JSP application onto Portal

    Hi,
I have a scenario where I need to host a pure Servlet-JSP based application onto portal.
This application is not developed using Web Dynpro. It is a pure java based application having two separate URLs for Dev and for Production.
Now I want to give access point to this application via SAP Portal. How can I achieve it?
    Thanks and regards,
    Amey Mogare

    Thank you for reply Michael.
Actually, this TestApp is already deployed on its Dev as well as Prod server as ear file. So we can use same ear file? If yes, then how? If not, then how do I go about?
But I have one question here. How will we manage the different URLs of this application on portal?
I mean, how would Production portal will know to point to production URL of this application???
    Thanks and regards,
    Amey Mogare

  • Integrating external JSP app with Portal

    Hi,
I have an existing application which is completely developed in JSP. I also have a application which is currently build and running on the Portal. Now i want to integrate these two applications togethar so that when ever a user logs into the application running on the portal he should have a link through which he can access application buit on JSP.
Any guidence/info would be grealty appreciated
    Thanks in Advance

Try a LINK in yoyur portal app (smart no?)
If your java app has a autentication method, do the link and then PORTAL SSO enabled it and the use a PORTAL AREA to IFRAME it. So the experience of the user is that he will be always in the same app. (you'll need to change the look and feel of one app)

  • How to integrate BIBean JSP page with Portal after deploying to iAS?

    Hi all,
Right now we can deploy a JSP page contains BI Bean crosstab to iAS and can display the page using this url: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7779/Application2/Analyze1.jsp.
    BIBean version: 10.1.2.0.2
    JDEV version: 10.1.2.1.0
    iAS version: 10.1.2
Then according to a sample: http://otn.oracle.com/products/bib/htdocs/samples/samples_overview.html
, we should test PDKProviderAdapter, but we don't know how to create a provider for it. In the sample project "Portal" I can find a "provider" floder contains provider.xml under the "web content" node.
My question is : how to create the provider? which document or example can we refer to for help. Eagerly waiting for help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Scott

    thnx for your response.
Basically we need to develop few JSP pages and that will insert data into the Oracle tables. These tables will hold user information for further processing. Now the requirement is to call these JSP pages from OBI dashboard. We can easily call the JSP pages if OBI runs on OC4J (that we have checked). But in our production environment we are having IIS server to run OBI. So our concern is how to deploy these JSP pages on IIS server?

  • URGENT! Need help to portalize a Strut JSP App for Portal!

    Hi,
I have create a little application using Strut ADF. This application only have one page. Can someone tell me how to portalize this in order to deployed it in Portal. I have create my DataSource in OEM and the only thing left is to portalize this jsp.
I have read the "How to create a Struts Portlet" but I don't understand it.
Please help me deployed this app to Portal. Is there any tutorial about this?
    Thank you!

    try this article
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/articles/pdkstruts/portletize-your-app.html
You will also need to download the relevant tag library for the pdk-struts extensions.
You can also download the java portlet wizard as an add-in for jdeveloper. This makes the creation of the files (for example provider.xml) required by portal easier.

  • Standard Transaction Vs Webdynpro ABAP development in Portal ?

    Hi All ,
I just need to know that if we do some kind of enhancement/modification in sap standard screen using the classical tools like screen painter etc. when we deploy these transaction on portal we will have those changes on the web based GUI or we need to developed the whole new development for that transaction to show on the portal ?. I know webdynpro for ABAP can be used for new developments but what if we just need a simple change on screen and we can achieve the goal using simple screen enhancement ? do we need to develop the screen again in webdynpro ?  Kindly can anybody explain this ?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Laeeq.

SAP ABAP screens are used by SAPGUI for Windows and SAPGUI for HTML and are presented exactly as the screen designer lays them out.  The portal can start either SAPGUI variant.
WebDynpro has nothing to do with existing SAP ABAP screens. You build new screens and then call BAPIs etc to populate the fields.
The portal can start a Web Dynpro application.
To change the look of an existing SAP ABAP screen you need to change the screen. If you want to completely change the screen, start building Web Dynpro programs.
    Cheers
