Jsp dyn page open form results in new window

Hi everybody,
I have a problem dispaying results in new window.
My portal component is a dyn page that dispay several jsp pages based on a integer switch parameter checked in the
doProcessBeforeOutput method.
One page is a form with a button that call onSearch custom method inside my component; this method process the request,
fill the bean and set the integer switch that doProcessBeforeOutput check then get the right jsp.
All works fine but I want to display the onSearch method results in a new window.
What I have to do?
Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andrea,
     I am also facing the same issue.
Were you able to call the component method from the JavaScript code.
I have to display the results in a new page.
Will all the methods like doProcessBeforeOutput() be executed when we traverse after the search button is clicked ?
Thanks in advance,
Brian.

  • Open Search Results in new window

    I have added the 'Search' portlet in one of my pages. what set up should I do to open the search results in a new window?

    Thanks a lot for the reply.
    I have an old version of Portal, so I have a different way to Edit Portlet. there I have 3 display options -
    1. Link That Displays Item In Folder Area
    2. Link That Displays Item In Full Browser Window
    3. Link That Displays Item In New Browser Window
    I already chose the 3rd option. But still, the results open in the same window. I am a newbie to Portal.
    thanks.

  • How do I make the links to "one of my pages" open up in a new window?

    Whenever one selects "one of my pages" in the link pane, the option to "open link in new window" disappears?! Why? Can this limitation be got around?

    You select it as an external page and enter the URL.
    If you are publishing to .Mac the URL will be something like this ...
    http://web.mac.com/YourName/YourWebsiteName/ThePageName.html

  • Javascript window.open call results in new window and not new tab.

    I'm creating an extension and using JS to open a new window. I've tried a variety of forms including something like: window.open("https://www.FOO.com" + dest,,"_newtab") and just window.open(url).. The option is set (tools/options) to open in a new tab. I've looked at preferences and forum suggestions to no avail. The proper url opens in a new window instead.
    I've disabled all other addons and plugins.
    I suspect I'm doing something silly, but would appreciate any insights.
    Thx, --Don

    Thanks for the reply. I'd seen those articles. AFAIK, the default settings are as they should be to open in a new tab (3 & 2 respectively). ...new_window.override.external = -1 though I don't know what that does or if it has any bearing on the issue.
    Thx, --Don

  • How to open form links in new window in Acrobat XI

    Does anyone know how to have a link within a form open a new instance of a browser?

    Answered through email:
    Hello,
    I don´t understand your problem. You have not tried the component mentioned in my replies, right? You have tried Launch URL component from WD Native. Because if you have, you would ask such a question. This component is a u201Cgroupu201D of a text field and a button. That means, that fits your problem completely IMHO. Place the component on your form layout, Set the presence of the text fox inside this Launch URL and you will see what address is being launch when clicked on the button.
    You said you have your address in the text field. So this is the same. Just change the source where the button takes the URL from or copy the value from your form into this one.
    Hope this helps.
    p.s.: looks like you have absolutely no exerience with JS coding.
    That means you need to read first and code later, right? Start here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/articles/lc_designer_scripting_basics/lc_designer_scripting_basics.pdf

  • Open search result in new tab

    I would like to create a site similar to Firefox, where the
    search result opens in a new tab window. Doesn't anyone know how to
    go about this. Can is only be done in flash or is there other
    options.:

    In Dreamweaver I found where you can set a link to open in a
    new window or in the same window that the person is viewing your
    page in. I didn't see anything about a new tab. If you want your
    url link to open in an all new window, open your document that
    contains the specific url. Click in the text and it will show your
    link in the Properties box at the bottom of the page. Just below
    where you link URL is seen there is a TARGET drop down menu... It
    has _self: this will cause the URL to open in the same window.
    There is _blank: this will open the URL in an entirely new window.
    It also has _parent, and _top. Not sure about them. Tried them on
    one of my URL's and think they both opened in the same window I was
    viewing my page in. Hope this is any help at all.

    Using firefox 14.0.1. Loading a link using right-click and "Open Link In New Window", results in new window opening but address bar does not show URL. However, if I right click on a link and select "Open Link In New Tab", the Tab shows URL in address bar. So it's working when it's a New Tab but not a New Window.

    The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
    Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
    To Reset Firefox do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
    #Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
    #Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

    As far as I'm aware, there isn't a supported way to do this in the client-side API. You could use window.open instead

  • Where to mention the IP address in a  JSP dyn page

    Hi ,
    I am creating a mail sending system with Javamail.
    Created the JSP dyn page,
    wrote the event handler in the java file. and all.
    now I have to mention the IP address of the SMTP server.
    where should I do this....
    inside the event handler itself?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    The button tag in the jsp looks like this
    <hbj:button
            id="sendEmail"
            text="sendEmail"
            width="125px"
            tooltip="Click here to send mail"
            onClick="sendEmail"
            disabled="false"
            design="STANDARD"
            />
    The function to handle the button eventing occurs in the dynpage  . The function looks like
    public void sendEmail (Event event) { ..coding.. }
    Now when the button is clicked, the control is transferred to this event handler sendEmail and the code with init starts executed.
    Hope it is clear...

  • Everytime I click on one of my app tabs it removes it form that brower window and opens it in a new window! how do I get it to work right?

    Clicking on an app tab shouldn't remove it from that browser window but it does, seems to sort of defeat the purpose of App Tabs in my opinion. then I have to drag the new tab back into the other browser window and then it works for a little while correctly.
    Thanks in advance for all your help!

    Make sure that you do not drag a tab in the browser window.<br />
    Firefox 3.5 versions and later have a feature called tear-off tabs.<br />
    You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.<br />
    You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.<br />

  • Open Firefox 4 in new window gives a Window frame and address bar does not refresh the current url

    Using Firefox 4 in Windows 7
    I have customised the position of tabs (Tabs on top) and which toolbar items I would like to see.
    The first window I open of firefox 4 always has the configuration as I set it.
    Whenever I open a new window of firefox either:
    - Right-click a link to open in a new window
    - Click a link anywhere (such as an email) to open a new window
    - When a website opens a page in a new window
    Bad Results:
    - The new window does not have the configuration as set in the main window (Tabs on top)
    - The new window has a windows type window frame around the firefox window (see two sets of window controls eg. "minimise", "restore" and "close")
    - The open page does not show the url - navigating to a new page within this window will not update the url :: strangely enough clicking the url page icon will update the url as it should be
    - Sometimes when restarting firefox, it will open the first main window with the remembered tabs and then open approx 8 or so blank new windows as described above

    This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Open and style a new window

    Hello,
    Following this thread Re: Apply CSS to help window I'm trying to open and style a new window, using JavaScript. I'm using the following script:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function newwin(targetURL) {
    var swin = window.open(targetURL,null);
    swin.focus();
    swin.document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].dir = "rtl";
    </script>In a pure HTML environment, it works just fine. In ApEx I'm receiving an error message http://i2.tinypic.com/vfl7qc.png, which relate to the first window. For some reason, the reference to the new window (swin) does not work properly.
    An example page can be seen at http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=22814:30
    Can anyone please help me understand where the problem is?
    Thanks,
    Arie.

    I've just tried your supplied code in Firefox and Internet Explorer in an Apex environment and they both worked fine.
    FYI I tested with the following links on my host page:
    < A href=javascript:newwin('http://www.leeds.ac.uk');>Click here!< /a >
    < A href=javascript:newwin('f?p=103:1:&SESSION.');>Click here!< /a >
    And the Javascript code in the header section of the same page.
    A few questions:
    - Which browser are you using?
    - What will be in your popup? Another Apex page or something else?
    - If an APEX page, what does the URL look like? Different to mine above?
    - Is the popup Apex page a 'normal' page - or have you customised the template significantly?
    I would guess that your error message is referring to the fact that getElementsByTagName is returning null - rather than the reference to the window. Thus, I'd check for the existance of a body tag and a generally well formed destination page. Test with leeds.ac.uk as I used above to confirm.
    Hope this helps

    Hi Folks,
    My requirement: when the user clicks on a link of a drop down (Drop down here is something like

    All these list of values are run time customization's created Inside web center console under administration tab
