JSP error in Oracle with bean?
I use the next jsp tag:
<jsp:setProperty name="form" property="categories" parameter="check_orders" />
But Jdeveloper 9031 (build 1107) doesn't support parameter as a valid atrribute for this tag.
Only name, property, value is that true?
I think you mean "param" not "parameter".
Check out the JSP.4.2 section of the spec where it details the exact usage of JSP:Setproperty

VeronikaHi Veronika,
The <jsp:usebean> is used for only javabeans not EJB (Enterprise javabean). You said that you have deployed SpellCheck.jar to the JRun server. So that must be an EJB. Where are you accessing this EJB from in your JSP? ARe you doing it inside the projsp.SpellCheck javabean? If yes, can you post some code from the javabean.
Cheers

First use of jsp and java bean and "Unable to compile class for JSP" error
Hi,
I am trying to create my first jsp + java bean and I get a basic error (but I have no clue what it depends on exactly). Tomcat seems to cannot find my class file in the path. Maybe it is because I did not create a web.xml file. Did I forgot to put a line in my jsp file to import my bean?
Thank you very much for your help.
Here is my error:
An error occurred at line: 2 in the jsp file: /login.jsp
Generated servlet error:
[javac] Compiling 1 source file
/usr/local/tomcat/jakarta-tomcat-5/build/work/Catalina/localhost/test/org/apache/jsp/login_jsp.java:43: cannot resolve symbol
symbol : class CMBConnect
location: class org.apache.jsp.login_jsp
CMBConnect test = null;
I only have this in my directory:
test/login.jsp
test/WEB-INF/classes/CMBConnect.java
test/WEB-INF/classes/CMBConnect.class
Do I need to declare another directory in classes to put my class file in it and package my bean differently?
Here is my login.jsp:
<%@ page errorPage="error.jsp" %>
<jsp:useBean id="test" type="CMBConnect" scope="session" />
<html>
<head>
<title>my test</title>
</head>
<body>
<h3>Login information</h3>
<b><%=session.getValue("customerinfo.message")%></b>
<form> ....... </form>
</body>
</html>
and here is my CMBConnect.java:
import java.sql.Connection;
import java.sql.DriverManager;
import java.sql.SQLException;
public class CMBConnect
public CMBConnect () { }
public String openConnection(String id, String password) {
String returnText = "";
try {
Connection con = null;
DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@myserver.abc.com:1521:TEST", id, password);
if(con.isClosed())
returnText = "Cannot connect to Oracle server using TCP/IP...";
else
returnText = "Connection successful";
} catch (Exception e) { returnText = returnText + e; }
return returnText;
Thanks again!Thanks for you help

What am I missing? Note that on 9.0.4.2 and its previous versions the deployment was successful.We use EJB2.0 and as per the specifications entity class and getters/setters should be abstract. This is what we have. I have verified the dtd used in ejb-jars and it has references to the correct version. Here is an example <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">. Also the tag <cmp-version>2.x</cmp-version> is included for all the entity beans.
Now I am just curious to know if anyone has tried deploying Entity Beans 2.0 on a 10.1.3? and if so was the deployment successful? -
Hi all,
I try to install PTG 1.0.2 with apache server (version 1.3.9 with jserv 1.1) on windows NT. I follow install instructions and when I try to access test page (test.jsp), the page colud not be displayed, and the following error is added in the mod_jserv.log file :
(error) ajp12: Servlet Error : ClassnotFoundException : oracle.jsp.JSPservlet.
All input are welcome ?
nullHello!
I've got the same problem and I think it has something to do with the jserv.conf file.
According to the installation guide, the following line should be added:
ApJServAction .jsp /servlets/oracle.jsp.JspServlet
In the same file I have the following line:
ApJServMount /servlets /root
So /servlets is mounted on /root. I don't knoww what this /root pints to, but I think the problem is that this path does not lead to oracle.jsp.JspServlet.
Has ANYONE yet solved this problem? -

How to upload a file into server using j2ee jsp and servlet with bean?
How to upload a file into server using j2ee jsp and servlet with bean? Please give me the reference or url about how to do that. If related to struts is more suitable.
Anyone help me please!u don't need j2ee and struts to do file uploading. An example is as such
in JSP. u use the <input> file tag like
<input type="file"....>You need a bean to capture the file contents like
class FileUploadObj {
private FormFile srcFile;
private byte[] fileContent;
// all the getter and setter methods
}Then in the servlet, you process the file for uploading
* The following loads the uploaded binary data into a byte Array.
FileUploadObj form = new FileUploadObj();
byte[] byteArr = null;
if (form.signFile != null) {
int filesize = form.srcFile.getFileSize();
byteArr = new byte[filesize];
ByteArrayInputStream bytein = new ByteArrayInputStream (form.srcFile.getFileData());
bytein.read(byteArr);
bytein.close();
form.setFileContent(byteArr);
// Write file content using Writer class into the destination file in the server.

JSP Deployment:Tomcat:Oracle Prepared Statement error
I'm deploying my BC4J JSP application to Linux/Tomcat 4.0.1.
The html and basic jsp (Query form display) work but whenever I try to hit the database (i.e. display a browse or execute a query), I get the following in the Browser window:
Application Error
Return
Error Message: oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement
There are no other messages. Everything works in the JDeveloper IDE.
I'm sure I've done something wrong in the configuration.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
TIA
Thanks, GeorgeThanks for the info Sung.
We solved the problem late yesterday. The Tomcat documentation indicates that .jar files shared by the application and the server must reside in <Tomcat_home>/common/lib/. However, we went by the JDeveloper document which stated that most of the library files belong in <Tomcat_home>/lib/.
When we moved classes12.jar to /common/lib/ the problem was resolved.
In order to resolve other problems that arose, we had to move all of the indicated .jar files for JDeveloper into /common/lib/.
One of the JDeveloper documentation folks should probably evaluate this for a change to the documentation.
Thanks for your help!
Thanks, George -

How to connect Oracle with Jsp?
Hi,
I am student and I am trying to use Jsp to connect oracle. Do you have any sample to show how to do it?
Thanks a lot.
AmyIn JSP, you connect to the Oracle in a same way as you would do it in any Java application, using JDBC. Please refer to Java Tutorial -> JDBC on sun site and you will get easy and straight forward concepts.
