Jsp & java

Hi,
can I write a java program (.class file) working with swing and called by jsp page (.jsp)

Yes, theorotically there's nothing that will prevent you from doing so. After all, its still a java class. But be prepared to see the swing ui appearing to the server admin (on the server machine) rather than the client viewing your controls :)
Seriously, if you want to develop richer clients, jsf is the way to go (atleast the promised one)
cheers,
ram.

    Hi Michael Vstling,
Did you try the java classes library (SDOAPI) that can be downloaded from OTN?
It may provide you with a better alternative when manipulating geometries in the Java space. There is an adapter in SDOAPI which can convert a JDBC STRUCT object into Java Geometry object defined in SDOAPI, and vice versa.
There are at least two ways in mixing PL/SQL and Java. The first one, as you mentioned, is to define your custom function in terms of PL/SQL and call it from within your Java program. With SDOAPI, you have the second option, which is to define your own functions in Java using SDOAPI and deploy them as Java stored procedures in db. You can then call them from within your PL/SQL code. In either way performance depends on a lot of things and generally it requires a "try and improve" approach.
About JPublisher and sdo_ordinate_array it may not be a spatial related problem. Did you try search the Java-related forums first?

  • How to create two level dynamic list using JSP , Java Script and Oracle

I am new in JSP. And i am facing problem in creating two level dynamic list using JSP ,Java Script where the listdata will come from Oracle 10g express edition database. Is there any easy way in JSP that is available on in ASP.NET.
    Plz response with details.

    1) Learn JDBC API [http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jdbc/index.html].
    2) Create DAO class which contains JDBC code and do all SQL queries and returns or takes ID's or DTO objects.
    3) Learn Servlet API [http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/].
    4) Create Servlet class which calls the DAO class, gets the list of DTO's as result, puts it as a request attribute and forwards the request to a JSP page.
    5) Learn JSP and JSTL [http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/]. Also learn HTML if you even don't know it.
    6) Create JSP page which uses the JSTL c:forEach tag to access the list of DTO's and iterate over it and prints a HTML list out.
You don't need Javascript for this.

  • Do all JSP/Java bean webapps need an xml file?

    Hi all,
I have a jsp/ java bean webb application. This is being run on Resin at
    Lunarpages.
The site has been shut down due to 'class-loader' not found. I was told it
was causing problems for other java users on the server.
I realise this is limited information but any insight would be welcome.
This is our first JSP / java bean web app.
Also if anyone could tell me briefly the purpose of an xml document in a JSP/Java bean webapplication I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Jim

    Hi there,
    Thanks for the reply.
Our application allows people to purchase wedding pictures online. It ran locally on resin we then had to change all the relative file paths in order to deploy it on lunarpages.
    Lunarpages use resin also.
We had the application tested and working on Lunarpages for the last week .This morning they sent us a message saying they had shut our JSP pages down as our application was causing problems for other java users. errant code unknown element ' class-loader' .
Not too much help from lunarpages...
    thanks

  • JSP/Java vs ASP/VB Pay Difference

Hi all I have been looking at the pay for jsp/java vs asp/vb developers. I have found that for years it has been the same .
For a person with say 3-4 years of either the salary tops tends to be comparable.
    Can anyone confirm this ?
    Does anyone know why ?
I have found it strange because it appears to me that Java is a much more challenging language.
    stephen

Because the value delivered by the developers you mention and their scarcity is almost identical, from a business perspective. Not only that but learning enough Java basics to write JSPs is not as nearly as challenging KNOWING Java enough to write a full-fledged, industry strength application. Good luck!

though the database is not int he same folder as the jsp, the DSN is set correctly to pint to the db location. The jsp does print in stdout file:
    Here4 (from connect method above)
Here 1 (from connect method above)
    Below Select (from jsp)
This means that the jsp does connect to db but it gives the above error. Also the field name also matches that in the database and data is present in the db too.
All other things like creating package for bean, incorporating the packakage are done.
Can someone please help me with their precious advice?

    U're getting this error because there is no field called 'password' in ur database, the field in ur database is named 'cpassword' and not 'password'. So change the statement rs.getString("password"); to rs.getString("cpassword");

Hi, I too have a problem with an SQL exception, the message is Column not found.
I'm using the sun jdbc odbc driver with access.
the first few lines of the stack trace are
    sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcResultSet.findColumn(JdbcOdbcResultSet.java:1852)
    sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcResultSet.getInt(JdbcOdbcResultSet.java:603)
    net.homeip.sdaniels.MemberBean.ejbFindByUnamePwd(MemberBean.java:127)
    sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
    sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39)
I am of course sure that the column does infact exist. I can insert into the column no problems. the sql looks like this:
SELECT * FROM Members WHERE uName ='Stewart' AND encPwd='F2C3h1Y'
Can any one tell me if there is a common cause to this problem?
    Thanks

  • Is there a way to use bpm object in jsp (java)

    hello
i could see that the bpm object can be used in jsp with javascript and fuego tag. but is there a way to use bpm object with java code?
    thank you!

Suppose a Servlet/JSP calls java classes. In the java
functions of those classes, is there a way to get and
    set attributes with application/session scope
directly? Thanks.Only by passing a reference to those classes (or by tying in to the framework/container).

  • NWDS - JSP & Java

    Experts,
THis is for CRM. I have a button called 'Go' in JSP (developed using NWDS)
    1. When I click on the button, how can I capture the events?
    2. After clicking on the event, I need to call the Java class to perform some backend activity. Pls guide me how?
    3. After this, goto next page called result.jsp.
I've gone thro, "Development and Extension Guide u2013 SAP E-Commerce 7.0", but I dont understand how to intergrate the JSP & actions.
Please advise with steps & code..Appreciate your help..
    BM

    Hello there,
The simplest way I would recommend will be create a web module project in NWDS.[File ->New Web Module Project]
Create 2 JSP pages in the webproject[ A.jsp and B.jsp]
The first JSP page will have tags like this.
    <body>
         <form action="B.jsp">
         <button >Submit  </button>
            </form>          </body>
Once the Submit button is submitted the execution goes to the 2nd JSP page as provied as submit.jsp here.
In the second JSP page you can read the parameters from first page and perform the Java Operation. Also you can make use of Java Beans for the back end call. After this you can forward it to a another page.
Java Beans with code sampe http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/javax.servlet.jsp/usebean.jsp.html
Also check this for the entire set of JSP examples http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/javax.servlet.jsp/pkg.html
Let me know if you need any further information
