JSP works at Home Page Only

From my earlier post: The JSP tags and scriptlets execute fine on my Home Page, but when I navigate to another page via Link or POST the JSP code gets Ignored. Curiously enough, but when the POST method is used, I get the following error: METHOD NOT ALLOWED - The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL/mypage.jsp. I suspect the server configuration, since I installed and configured it myself. I'm using Apache 1.3 with Tomcat. Any help would be appeciated.
Thanks
CMD

I'm not sure exactly what the problem is, but unless you explicitly did something to restrict POST to a particular page or path, then POST won't be disabled by default in Apache or Tomcat. So I would check whatever modifications you might have made in the config files first. And does GET work? Are the JSP pages otherwise working at all? Maybe check for errors in the logs? There should be a JK log for the Tomcat JK connector.

  • Firefox does not open with the tabs I had open when I use the quit and save function. Firefox opens with my home page only. how to fix?

When I use the "Save and Quit" function it has no effect. The next time I open Firefox it goes to my home page only.

This is not a solution, nor a work-around. The only thing this points out is where the problem lies. Settings are meant to be used in all sessions, barring exceptions and the fact that Firefox asks if you'd rather SAVE and then quit, makes it an exception. The user has elected to skip the clear browsing history step.
However, if the settings are permanently changed as you suggest, then the history will always be remembered for eternity when Firefox is closed. You then have to manually clear your history first at every session before closing.
Older versions of Firefox never behaved in such manner and recognized that the Save and Quit superseded the setting to Clear History.

== Home page only start from the tabs bar I want to see the top part of the home page

Press ALT or F10 in your keyboard to make the Menu Bar temporarily visible. If you want it to be permanently visible, go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'', or right-click the Navigation Toolbar (the Reload button, for example) and select ''Menu Bar''.
If this doesn't help, right-click the navigation toolbar, select ''Customize...'' and click ''Restore Default Set''. If it doesn't appear right away, try pressing ALT or F10. You can go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'' to make it permanently visible, or right-click the Navigation Toolbar and select ''Menu Bar''.
If none of this helps, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Try disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal.

My home page only displays computers and settings icons. No other icon. How can I get other icons?

Looks like a sudden error being thrown up on many ATV2 units.  Yesterday, mine was fine and today I now only have 2 icons like so many other posters.
No amounts of restarts or restores, disconnecting and reconnecting power, restarting routers, re-logging in to iTunes has any effect at all.

  • AVG Secure Search appears when I use Google Search from my Home page only.

My home page is the Firefox default page with the Google searchbar. I like getting occasional messages from Firefox when I log in so I don't want to change my homepage. However, when I use the searchbar ''on my homepage only'', I get the unsatisfactory AVG Secure Search results.
UPDATE: I now realize all the troubleshooting information I included in my original question appears under the "More System Details" link next to the question, not in the body of the question. I have copied it here to make it easier to see what I have already done to try to solve the problem, as well as describe the one clue I have that may be relevant:
I have tried all the fixes on various threads, but my about:config is now pristine (no avg or isearch mentions; keyword.url is default). Closest solution is that at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/866327 , which requires changing my home page.
Oddly, AVG Secure Search is ''not'' a problem when I use the Google toolbar or search from the Google website, only when I use the search bar that appears on my home (start) page. This is true even when I return to my home page--if I search from the Google search bar in the middle of the page, I get sent to AVG Safe Search. (isearch.avg.com).
I read in one thread a suggestion to delete my chromeappsstore.sqlite file in my Profile folder. As promised, Firefox created a new one when I restarted it; however, the search bar in the middle of my home home page did not work at all. Tried this three times before restoring my original.
I do not have an application that will open a sqlite file, but I tried doing so in Excel and found a cell containing the following:
    emoh.:moz-safe-aboutsearch-engine{"name":"AVG Secure Search","searchUrl":"http://isearch.avg.com/search?cid={7A3C25A0-E345-4507-AA31-D98F596A81A9}&mid=c48135235ba247d18ac1d14b344db451-addd29eab2809954d5abdf0b991a5b911a297819&ds=is015&lang=en&v=10.0.0.7&pr=sa&d=&sap=dsp&q=_searchTerms_"}
I have no clue what that means, but it is the only thing I can find related to Firefox that still mentions AVG and isearch.avg.com.
At this point my best guess (but it is a guess) is that the chromeappsstore.sqlite file is a key to the complete solution, but I do not have enough knowledge to go beyond and address it. I appreciate any help you anyone can offer.

Here is the way to get rid of the problem once and for all:

  • Background Image Centering and Display issues in Internet Explorer--affecting home page only??

Hi--my web site is www.vergent.net, and for some reason, the background image will not center in Internet Explorer, but I'm having this issue only on the home page. (And only in IE. I am looking at it on IE 9). I've tried a number of workarounds, and nothing is working. Strangely, the same Master applied to other pages looks fine.
    Please help!
    A few more details:
The background image is placed into the Master page via the "browser fill" method.  I tried a workaround where I just paste the background image directly onto the page and then placed content over that. However, IE doesn't seem to read the z-index information correctly. The result is that the background image winds up on top of all the content in IE using this method.
Any help will be most appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jennifer

PS, I have temporarily resolved this problem by uncentering the content and just pinning everything flush to the left.

UAC, etc - no luck - Thanks

Hello, Since you have uninstalled and reinstalled, the first thing I would do is go to www.adobe.com/software/flash/about. Adobe will tell you if F.P. is installed and what version you have. The next thing, is if it is indeed installed, is go to Tools>manange add ons, find Shockwave Flash Object, hi light it, and on the bottom right  you should see "Update Active X". Click on that and when the update is completed, Reboot. Then see if that solves your problem.

  • CNET links work on home page but sub pages require a refresh

Ever since the last update, when I'm reading the main page on CNET news site everything works fine. When I click on a link to an article a sub page comes up but none of the comment links on that page will work (for example the comment links and "like" links at the bottom of the page). The normal links to other articles seem to work.
If you want to comment or click a "like" link you have to refresh the page. This is FF 3.6.11 on Windows XP 32 bit.
This was not an issue until FF was last updated.

Although you are correct in that booting the browser in safe mode did correct the issue, I had no desire to start troubleshooting what addon or plugin was responsible for the issue. I did update Java.
Today there was another update for FF, and when this update was done the issue was corrected. Because of this, and since I really don't have time to be troubleshooting browser issues, I have disabled all the automatic updates in all the FF browsers in our shop, and at home. I am only going to update them if there is a significant change. I realize this may be a security issue, however I just cannot spend the time required to correct issues caused by browser updates. Again, I realize issues can be caused by the plugins not "following the rules" and not being updated but even so I cannot justify spending huge amounts of time correcting issues that would not happen if I did not update the browser.
Thanks for your time helping me with this problem. I will not be updating any more unless I read about a serious problem that has to be corrected.

  • When Login to apps it goes to AppsLocalLogin.jsp and not Home page

    Hi Friends,
When i Login to oracle apps using the following URL it says Page Cannot be displayed http://hostname:port . But when i login to login page it goes fine. that is
http://vis.hostname:8000/AppsLocalLogin.jsp then it goes fine to the Login page. Could any one say what may be the reason.
    Thanks
    Saravanan

    Saravanan,
First of all, check Apache log files for any errors (especially access_log file).
    $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs
    $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Jserv/logs
    $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Jserv/logs/jvm
Clear the log files (take a backup first), reproduce the issue, then check the log files contents.
If no errors can be found in the log files, then you may try the note referenced above (you can postpone this for now until you verify the log files contents).
index.html file can be located under $COMMON_TOP/portal/<CONTEXT_NAME> directory.
    Regards,
    Hussein

  • JSP as Home Page on iPlanet

Is it possible to configure the iPlanet web server 4.1 to serve a JSP as its
home page from WL when a user hits a URL like http://www.mywebsite.com? The
proxy by jsp extension and directory work fine when the URL is anything
other than the default web site. I'd rather avoid doing a redirection in an
HTML page to a JSP page. In my testing, if the home page in iPlanet is set
to a JSP page, the proxy rules don't go into effect properly and for some
reason iPlanet asks WL to serve it's default page.
Any ideas on how I can get this to work?
              -Brian Cunningham

    Brian,
You can easily get WLS to serve index.jsp as the default home page. I have
included the section of the docs from the "Serving dynamic pages by default"
              section from http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/admindocs/http.html#default
You may configure the WebLogic Server to serve dynamic default files, delivered
by the JSPServlet, the PageCompileServlet, or your own custom servlet. This
property instructs the WebLogic Server to look for certain files to be handled
by specific servlets handling their file extension types:
              weblogic.httpd.indexFiles=index.foo,index.bar
Where servlets must be registered to handle all files with extension ".foo" and
              ".bar", such as:
              weblogic.httpd.register.*.foo=com.myservlets.FooServlet
              weblogic.httpd.register.*.bar=com.myservlets.BarServlet
The comma separated list of filenames is searched in order, and precedes the
invocation of the FileServlet, and hence precedes the defaultFilename associated
with the FileServlet. Note that servlets must be registered to handle the listed
              file extension types.
              Hope this helps,
              Robert

Thanks very much for the thoughts - I redid that alternate masthead for ie5.5 and updated the link - yes, now the ALTERNATE banner shows but NOT the image I need, which does still show in other browsers. Only in Safari does the alternate masthead now show, but not the main masthead needed.

    This problem only started recently.
Opening another web page (URL) from my homepage always opens in the same tab and the "go back one page" button is gray and does not work. If I open a series of web pages in the same tab the green "back" button is green. Clicking on the "recent pages" down arrow will allow me to go back, but only to the page after the home page.
In other words, after browsing, I can get back to the opening page (my home page) only by clicking on the house icon but not by using the "recent pages" function.
Is there an option that changed after the last update?
