JspBase equivalent in portal 8.1??

I was wondering if there is an equivalent class in Portal 8.1 for
com.beasys.commerce.axiom.jsp.JspBase (from earlier versions of Portal). We
are using the obsolete
3.5 version of Portal, and are currently doing some initial migration work.
Some of our JSP's use static methods from the JspBase class, namely the URL
methods like createURL, reconcileFile etc et.
If these don't exist anymore, could you please advise us ways to create
URL's pointing back to JSP destinations within the deployed portal
application?

There currently aren't any samples or template JSPs that use commerce in
8.1.
The 7.0 version of WLP included wlcsDomain and wlcsApp, which was a
commerce sample that had sample shopping cart code. However, most of
that code in encapsulated in 7.0 PipelineComponents, which are
deprecated in 8.1. You can look at the code in there
(bea/weblogic700/samples/portal/wlcsDomain/beaApps/wlcsApp/src in
examples/wlcs/sampelapp/shoppingcart) for how to manipulate a shopping
cart. Additionally, the wlcs webapp has code and jsps (in wlcsApp/wlcs
and WEB-INF/src under that) you can look at. The APIs haven't changed
significantly between 7.0 and 8.1.

Good that you are exploreing lot many things. As you are already working on 8.1.6, I guess you know much about that. To get more on 9i features read this link

and 9.2.0.4 that 0.4 is a patch which you need to download from metalink site (metalink.oracle.com) for which you needs oracle licence.

I could do this in Portal 306.

Radio Groups on Portal

I have two fields on an Oracle Portal form labelled:
2004 UG Prospectus
2005 UG Prospectus
I want the enquirer (person completing the form) to only be able to select one or other of the fields (not both). On a normal Oracle Form, this would be achieved by using a Radio Group. The Radio Group function exists but I have no idea how to use it - locating any help on Radio Groups and Portal appears to be impossible!

I don't want to use a LOV. What I am wanting is to have two separate fields, one labelled 2004 Prospectus, the other 2005 Prospectus. If 2004 is selected, they can not select 2005 and vice versa.
On normal Oracle forms, this is achieved by using Radio buttons. I can not find out how to use the equivalent on Portal.

Equivalent Objects in multiple libraries lead to duplicates in portal UI

I am trying to avoid the duplicate listings of VHDs for a tenant portal user when they try to create a standalone VM.
I have 3 libraries defined across three Hyper-V hosts. In order to avoid the long time to copy the parent VHD to the Hyper-V host for each VM creation, I have defined my VHDs as equivalent objects across the 3 libraries. This works well to avoid long copy times,
but results in duplicate VHD listings in the WAP tenant portal. If I remove all but one of the 'equivalent' libraries from the Cloud definition, system center still knows about the equivalent relationship, but insists on doing the file copy anyway (I'm guessing
because it thinks this cloud doesn't have access to the library).
Any ideas?

Referenced Libraries on iPhoto are a bug bear. Referenced Libraries on iPhoto where the library is on one volume and the original files on another are a disaster waiting to happen - or in your case, happening rght now. iPhoto 09 and earlier uses aliases to track the location of the actual file, and these break if you move the file after importing, when the file is on another volume.
iPhoto has no tools to fix this problem.
You're not going to be able to get this material into Aperture until you do.
No point in hoping that iPhoto will magically provide the missing information, you're just going to have to make all the drives available to it. If it still can't find the images then you'll need to use an app like FileBuddy to fix the aliases.
iPhoto has no ability to export a spreadsheet with the data you require.

8.1 equivalent of portlet:form event=bea.portal.framework.internal.refresh

I've got a portlet with an edit JSP that allows the user to set some portlet settings. The edit JSP uses a form defined with the tag <portlet:form event="bea.portal.framework.internal.refresh" >. This in essence allowed the edit JSP to submit the form to itself, so it could then process (store) the settings.
This tag is no longer supported in 8.1. I haven't been able to find what the equivalent is. Am I going to be able to do the same thing, or am I going to have to rewrite the Edit piece as a page flow?

I've already tried that and it's not working in my current portal.
The other things I've tried are <render:postBackUrl/> and <render:windowUrl> for the form action, and they weren't working, either. But since then I've discovered that in a new vanilla portal installation, the <render:postBackUrl/> action works fine (I assume the controller would, too, but I didn't try it).
It seems I now have a different problem to work through to figure out why <render:postBackUrl/> works in a new installation, but not in my current one. The same goes for the controller.

Equivalent of Weblogic Portal admin console in Webcenter ?

Our company is currently equipped with Weblogic Portal (WLP) 10.3.2. I'm part fo the team in preparing a migration approach study to Oracle Webcenter (OWC).
In WLP 10.3.2 we are using JSF, WSRP and 286 portlets. Hence most of it can be reused in OWC.
Regarding run time customisation in Weblogic+ Portal administration console we can create desktop and include books, pages, portlets in Portal.
Can we achieve the same in Oracle Webcenter through Webcenter Portal administration console ?
While going through Oracle documentation I found the foll. thing "Composer in WebCenter Portal has been leveraged extensively inside Oracle WebCenter Portal: Spaces to allow users to customize and personalize spaces."
I'm not clear if I can achieve the equivalent of Weblogic Portal administration console+ in Webcenter using Webcenter Portal administration console (or) Spaces (or) Composer ?
Any helpful pointers / links would be helpful.

As you are expecting simple mapping, it will be not be there, because they change whole product in such way that there is no one to one mapping between weblogic portal and webcenter portal.
Spaces used for run time development of team sites and other collaboration sites, so this will be not useful to you in your scenario. Composer is run time customization of page. So if you want to give user capability to change content and page then you can use this feature.
But for your answer or requirement you can use web center portal admin console to create pages and put portlet inside it from WC Portal Admin console. I know you might have gone through tutorials, but here is the quick one.

With WC oracle made too much complexity to understand. As a weblogic portal developer I also always try to compare things with WL portal :-)

What is the equivalent to wwv_corners in portal 10g?

Hi, I'm migrating some pl/sql applications from portal 8i to 10 g, and I've found that the wwv_corners is gone in 10g. what happened? how come I cannot find anything on the documentation about this inner hidden database objects? Does anyone know where can i find any information about this? I don't even know what this objects are. Are they part of the OAS metadata repository?

I plan to create Private Cloud and handle staff like customer. They will have service portal to create and access to VM.
If, I would like to provide them the capability to see performance just like in Azure portal. Can out of the box solution of System Center built same function with Azure?

Missing Images and CSS when going to portal/server.pt can't login

I am not expert in these, but please check out the following things and see whether it would solve your issue. (All these changes can be easily rolled back in case I'm wrong :). So make note of what you do)
As per your httpd.conf, you have chosen an automatic configuration of Apache by OWCI installer itself. What it does is create an imageserver.conf file in a separate directory and these settings will be included in your httpd.conf as you can see in the first line: Include "C:/bea/alui/plumtreeconf/".
If you check the imageserver.conf in that location, you would find a line like: Alias /imageserver/ "C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/". This aliases the original path "C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/" to /imageserver"
To confirm whether this is done right, check the following:
1. Acces 'http://<server ip / server name / localhost >/' from your browser
This should display the Apache home page (as per your httpd.conf, it uses the default port 80; so no port number required)
2. Access 'http://<server ip>/imageserver/' from your browser
This should display the directory structure (if its not disabled) inside your 'C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/' folder. Also confirm that all the subfolders are accessible.
3. If all the above is right, it means that your imageserver settings are right. Please check your portalconfig.xml for the correct settings: For example, <setting name="HTTPPort"> should be 7001 in your case. If its something else, change it and restart Weblogic for the settings to take effect.

Use single sign on for multiple portal domains

Is it possible for a user to sign on once to a domain, and then be able to access other domains. What I'm trying to do is have one user registration page/login page, but use different portal server domains to present different sites, while at the same time having a type of single sign on, once a user has entered his credentials. Thus my registration process will create a new ldap user in an external directory, and i can then just point all the different domains to that External Ldap directory.

I wouldn't recommend this because it would affect performance plus there are potential other issues like conflict that you would run into ..
Everytime a user logs into a new session is created for him and this means a user might have multiple sessions on the server. The cookie that is also set is dependent on per portal domain so it might not work ..
An alternative approach might be to have multiple roles and then customize the role for different views. You can modify the membership code in such a way that based on certain criteria you can assign him to a particular role, equivalent to your domain. However the problem could be if you want to provide delegated admin, currently the delegated admin is only at a domain level.

My web service is using soap binding. I have tested it with eclipse and other tools also. It is working well and good. But when I tried to call a web service which is created and hosted on WebLogic server(running on port : 7001), I got the correct output.
Can anyone help me out in calling a web service hosted on different server from WebLogic server.

Hi
1. The way you are invoking the WebService deployed on Tomcat server is looks suspicious. It may be valid by adding extra ?wsdl etc into the url, but still I have not seen this way to invoke the webservice.
2. So you used Weblogic ant task to generate client JARs by giving this WSDL. So looks like it generated the 4 classes (.java) and in addition any other classes for Request/Response xml objects.
3. Look at the source code of EchoService.java. It should have one default empty constructor. Internally it uses the default wsdl defined in this class. You will see another constructor that takes WSDL URL as one of the parameters (QName) etc. Echo.java is the class corresponding to the Port. In the same EchoService you should see an instance method like getEcho() something like that. This Echo.java class will have methods for all the Operations defined on this Port. So the standard code snippet we use most of the times will be like this:

Now if this WebService is deployed on same Tomcat but on different machine or different port, you just give the full WSDL URL with that host and port in the constructor for new EchoService(...). You may need to instantiate QName object. But look at the methods generated in EchoService.java class.
The way you are using with Impl and Stubs class may also work. I am not much famiiar with this APIs apporach. Still look at the methods generated in these classes.
Also if you latest Sun JDK 1.6, it also has one command like wsimport. Infact if you install WLS 10.3 with Sun JDK, it should have C:\beawlp103\jdk160_05\bin\wsimport command. This will also generate client jar given a WSDL URL.

It works...
earlier I had entitlements set only on Employee Portal and Calendar in the tree structure Community_repository > Calendar > EmployeePortal > Calendar.
It didnt work and throwed that error.
After your suggestion I set entitlements on groupware.calendar.appointment to create, view, update, delete and instantiate to true.
It worked, thanks for your help.

I have created the .portal file and i have included the instance of the .portlet file in the portal page. When i run .portal file on the server it will throw the below exception.

I have created the .portal file and i have included the instance of the .portlet file in the portal page. When i run .portal file on the server it will throw the below exception.
