JSplitPane divider too wide on first display

I have two split panes nested into each other. For the second, inner one, I have a scrollpane with a table on the top and a scrollpane with a textpane on the bottom. When the Frame is shown for the first time, the divider for the inner splitpane is 5 times as wide as it should be.
What makes things more complicated is that I add the Panel with the splitpane after a user event.
Any idea,
Joerg

Hi,
I ran into the same problem, and verified that calling "updateUI" on the JSplitPane does fix the problem. I do this just before I call visible on the main frame.
Like the original poster, I also have a ScrollPane with a Jtable in one of the Split Panels. Maybe something about SplitPanes mixed with scrolly panes and/or tables causes this problem.

  • PS is too wide (large) to display on my iMac

I don't know what I've done, but both my my lightroom  and PS CS4 are now too large to display on my iMac.  Both vertically and horizontally.  I've been using them for a couple of years and never had this problem?  Any ideas on how to fix this?  I hate having to move the cursor to each side of the screen to see the panels in Lightroom and the same in Photoshop.

You accidentally resize the frames to large. Increase the resolution of the screen just temporarily so you can see the bottom right corner of the frames then reszie them smaller and that will hold when you relaunch.
If you can somehow drag the frames until you see the lower right corner then you do not have to change the resolution of the screen just drag that corner toward the center of the screen until you are happy with the size of the frame.
I sometimes make it bigger so I do not accidentally adjust some thing I dod not want to adjust. Probably not necessary but I do it any way.

  • Reports Parameter form via rwservlet in 9i Reports display is too wide

We have an app which was developed in Web Forms 6/6i which we are migrating to 9iAS Release 2/Reports 9i. We are running the .RDF reports using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT with rwservlet and PARAMFORM=YES. The parameter form sizes are generally 5x5, but the parameters display much wider in the 9iAS Release 2/Reports 9i environment in the Web Browser than they did in 6i. I have tried making the Parameter Form smaller, but the display still is way too wide: The browser window has to be scrolled several inches to the right to be viewed.
Any ideas on the root cause of this issue and how to fix? Or, any solutions to fix besides using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT? We don't have time or resources to write 100 parameter forms in Forms and do the call to Reports that way. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Judith, we had the same problem and the fix was to add the following parameter to the reports.sh file in the BI&Forms Oracle home:
    REPORTS_DEFAULT_PIXEL_SIZE=80;
    export REPORTS_DEFAULT_PIXEL_SIZE
After that, the report server needed to be stopped and restarted for the change to take effect.

  • Photoshop display a little too wide

I haven't been able to figure out a solution to this annoying problem.
I'm running Windows Vista on an HP with a 24" LCD monitor, an NVidea 8800# series video card and when I bring up Photoshop the display is a little too wide for the screen. Not a lot too wide, just a little too wide so that the left hand side of the display is cut off...just a little. It's not inoperable as I can guess at what is there from what is already showing on my screen but it would be much better if this wasn't happening. I don't know if I should be addressing this in an Adobe forum or somewhere else but it isn't happening with my other applications (i.e. Word, internet site screens etc).
If anybody could give me a clue, I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    j.

Are you running the monitor at its native resolution? If not, you
should. Most 24" widescreens are 1920x1200.

  • Bookmark display too wide

Pardon any terminology that doesn't conform to Firefox terms. When I look at my bookmarks, the display is way too wide and thus difficult to work with.
I have lots of Bookmarks and some of them are from sites that have put a ridiculous amount of text into the "title" field of the HTML page which is what is saved in addition to the URL when you bookmark a page.
Firefox 4 differs from Firefox 3.x in having two obvious ways to display the list of your bookmarks.
http://homepage.mac.com/jimcarr/FF4-1.png shows a list generated from menu at right edge of icon bar and has a rational width.
http://homepage.mac.com/jimcarr/FF4-2.png shows list of same bookmarks as displayed with Bookmarks menu. There is a very wide item off the bottom of the list that has forced display way too wide.
Would be helpful if a reasonable width limit was imposed--either fixed to same as smaller display or adjustable in about:config.

  • Sequence displaying too wide

I must have messed up something, but I don't know what.
I have two settings: 720x480 and 640x360. Both are set to the actual size of the footage being used. This worked just fine before (and still works in one old file - but if I import it into a new file - it has the same issue).
The issue is the display screen for these sequences is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too wide. I have huge black bars on the side - and, yes, they export that way. I have no idea why it's so wide when it's SUPPOSED to be as noted above, and says it is in info, but clearly it's not when it's such a long and skinny rectangle that it makes the footage almost look square. :S
Help?! I can't get any work done until this is fixed.

    Jim,
No. There is some sort of glitch happening in the program. There are no black bars in the footage.
The video shows correctly in the source window. But I can literally fit TWO of them side by side in the sequence window. So the sequence is NOT 720x480, even though it says it is, it's 1440x480.
I have tested these videos before - I have files where they looked fine - but if I open those same files - the sequence window has stretched itself out.
This is not anything in the video - though I checked all of that, just to be sure. The video does not provide any help for my issue.

  • Display bug LR CC: adjustment panels seem too wide

All the Adjustment tools (crop-gradient filters, etc)have their panel too wide. This cuts off the numbers on the left. See screen shot. OSX 10.10.2.

Other info: it only happens in FRENCH with a long slider name: On the image above, note the "Defringe"; in French it is way longer "Supprimer la frange". I changed the language to verify, and it is the case.

  • Distorted video - too wide

I have posted about this on Crackberry.com.  But maybe should bring it up here.
The main problem is that when viewing a video on my Z10, images are stretched left to right and so people are wider than normal and also objects like buildings, etc also are too wide.  It is less noticeable in landscape screens.  Upon a suggestion I received today, I opened the same video in the Z10's Browser and the video is NOT distorted.  But I think that the app should work properly.
Here's some extracts from the thread:
    http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-z10-f254/distorted-video-too-wide-849144/
I copied a homemade mp4 file to the z10 of one of my vacation trips (I create a dvd movie from the digital photos). The image is "widened" and frankly I don't need any help in the WIDENING area. It seems to show correctly on my PB and on my computer. But on the Z10 it is wide. Pinch does not HOLD - bounces right back to wide.
There does not seem to be a setting to alter this behavior or appearance. If not connected to the tv, the DISPLAY/hdmi setting is grayed out.
I just created a new video. Since the phone was going downstairs, I copied the mp4 video to the phone. Plugged it into my tv but, once again, the images are distorted - too wide. So the screen is spread left to right and people are too wide. The effect is less noticeable on Scenery but you can see it for buildings and such. And, it is not just on my TV but it is also evident on the Z10, itself. So, the z10 appears to not be displaying the image or video WIDTH correctly.
I then copied the same video to my Playbook (another BB device) and the video is fine and NOT DISTORTED.
I am still on the original Verizon bb10.1.xxxxxxxxxxxx OS.
Any idea if there is a setting on the phone that I am missing.
**bleep**! I had not thought about opening the video in the Browser. You are RIGHT - the video proportions are correct when opened in the Browser. So this is a definite bug in the Video app's software or settings. Of course, one should not have to go into the browser to view videos because the app is BROKEN.
I wonder if Kalemsoft or other video apps performs correctly?
When I first posted the thread, I did not know if it was my desktop software's coding or resolution or .... So I burned off the video in format after format to no avail. I am somewhat surprised that no one else has raised this issue. Maybe I will take it to the official bb forum.

  • Nested table too wide in IE7, fine everywhere else

I have a table nested into a table cell in a pretty much
straight HTML page. It renders fine in Safari and Firefox Mac, and
in Firefox Win. The nested table renders about 25 pixels too wide
    in IE7. Can't check IE6 because my install overwrote v.6 when I
    tried to prevent that.
    The page is at:

The problem table (or the cell that contains it) contains all
of the body content on the page: left column graphics, vertical
separator, body text, and right column graphic. The tops of the
cells each contain 1-pixel tall spacer GIFs to establish the column
widths. Need some help with getting the width to behave. I've
already retabled this thing three different ways. I'm stuck. HELP!

  • Navigation bar too wide for template graphic after creating new page

I want to stick within the templates, but I have a lot of pages and don't want them all in the nav bar. When I flagged a page to keep it out of the NAV bar, the NAV bar get messed up - not properly displaying at the edge of the template, like it made room for the hidden page's link then re-adjusted itself too wide for the background graphic. I've got the problem in the elegant template when displayed in IE on Windows (1024X768). Safari on my mac looks OK. Are there any other setting changes I can make to be better compatible?
    Thanks

It appears to have been a cache issue or some such. I no longer see the problem

  • Chart legend too wide when using horizontal layout

I am using a flex chart with about 15 series on it. I've set
the legend direction variable to "horizontal". However since the
panel width which contains the chart is fixed, the legend sprawls
out to the right instead of going "wrapping around" nicely to stay
within the panel. As a result, you can't read the whole legend when
looking at the chart. The chart itself stays the proper width, but
the legend is too wide and can only be seen via using the scrollbar
to move horizontally. How can that be fixed?

Solerous, you must create a custom legend. Here's an example
that uses a grid to lay out the individual grid items. If you have
a variable number of series, then you can probably come up with
better logic for laying out the legend, but this should help get
    you going.

Search the forum before posting a question.
In APEX 4.0, set the Column Width property of the text column. Column Width doesn't seem to have made it into the external documentation, but the online help says:
    >
Specify the column width in pixel. The attribute is used when displaying reports in the browser. Note that setting the column width must be supported by the selected report template.
    >
Therefore ensure that there is a <tt>#COLUMN_WIDTH#</tt> substitution string in your chosen report template, where the column template(s) should look something like:
<td #ALIGNMENT# headers="#COLUMN_HEADER_NAME#" class="data" #COLUMN_WIDTH#>#COLUMN_VALUE#</td>In both APEX 4.0 and previous versions you can control column width using the Column Formatting CSS Style property, which allows you to use units other than pixels:
    display: block; width: 10em;Edited by: fac586 on 03-Aug-2011 09:31
By "Description field" do you mean a report column or a text item? Is this "report" really a report or is it a tabular form?

In the last few days, it seems that my computer has all of a sudden caught a virus.
As others have pointed out, this isn't malware. That should not be your first (or even fifty-first) thought when your Mac starts misbehaving. For more on this topic, see my Mac Malware Guide.
I know the last ditch effort (after cleaning and maintenance of disc verification and permissions and repairs, is to reboot from the system disc.
You mention "cleaning and maintenance." Have you been running utilities claiming to do those things? If so, you may be the victim of an overly-zealous cleaning job, which has removed important files and damaged your system.
If I'm understanding correctly, you're unable to open any applications at all... is that right? Do you have any backups? If you don't have backups, you're in a sticky situation, as it will be difficult to make backups in your current state, but you shouldn't try any kind of repairs without them. (Actually, you shouldn't do anything with your computer without backups, but this is especially important when something is going badly wrong.)
If you have backups, reboot from your Snow Leopard install disc. From there, first, repair the hard drive with Disk Utility. Once that is done, assuming repairs were successful, reinstall the system. You can simply reinstall it on top of your current system, and it will replace any damaged or lost system files with new copies. (You'll also need to update the system via Software Update after reinstalling.)
If you don't have backups, or if Disk Utility can't repair damage, or if the problem continues even after a reinstall, post back with those details.
