JSR 135 (mmapi) Implementation for Pocket PC

Hello,
I�m looking for the Mobile Multimedia API implementation for a Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 2005, but I can�t find anything.
Does this implementation exist?

I have many problems, for example capture audio/video using j2me and transmit captured data via IP (RTP or UDP).
Someone says he has successful play audio/video using JMF (cross platform) AND J9 VM, but I am not successful on work JMF on the IBM J9.
all that on Pocket PC 2003.
Have you any Idea ?

Hello all,
Can any one direct me please to a LocationProvider implementation for windows of the JSR-179 location api.
it seems that each mobile device should have it's own implementation of the LocationProvider. what happens if my mobile device is an ordinary PC running Windows?
for that matter in need also an implementation for linux...
It seems so trivial, I just need an implementation that knows to read NMEA protocol out of a COM port....
it should be simple I feel that I'm missing something... I'm trying to find something for that last 24h and come in vain.

Hi Shahar,
The JSR179 spec/API is meant to be used on Mobile devices with an embedded GPS receiver. However, having said that, if you include the JSR 179 package in your JSE application for a PC, you can use the distance measurements etc that are packaged with the JSR179 package. It seems like overkill though, I am sure there are other open source packages out there that will provide the capability to measure distances between points, etc.
Basically, you will have to use streaming NMEA data on your serial port to aquire the GPS coordinates as the JSR179 spec is not meant to aquire GPS coordinates from a serial port.

Jsr-135 or other java media api for cdc

Hi,
I have downloaded jsr-135 but there are only html files in the source package.How and where can i get jar for this library?Or is there any way for using this media api or an other one?

Is there an Web Services implementation (JSR172) for Pocket Pc?

Hi,
I'm currently using IBMs J9 MIDP2.0 jvm but can't seem to figure out where to find an web services (jsr172) implementation for PocketPC. Does it even exist? Does IBM provide one?
I have tried to update WSDD, and this way I managed to download Web Services, bur for x86 and Palm only.
I've also downloaded the reference implementation from Sun, but this is said to support CLDC 1.0.4 only, stability is not guaranteed on CLDC1.1.

It's not an easy question to answer. So many other variables.
Mac or PC, high speed cable versus lower connection speeds. Network traffic and the speed of your server also play a big part in your visitors experience.
Add to those your desire to play back a file type that requires the viewer to have a very fast computer. I'd guess that less than a third of the computers in use can properly play most HD files (even the small sized ones).
Your Mac is a monster! What you view on it isn't close to what I would see on my Mac mini.
I would suggest you first figure out a display size of your file. Think small.
I (personally) would avoid H.264 unless you know your target audience would only be using "high end" equipment. Hard to pick your audience for a Web based file.
There are html "tricks" that can change the display size of your source movie. If you used a 480X360 (4:3 aspect) source you could "bump up" the display to 800X600 without too much loss in visual quality. Those "tags" are scale="tofit" and the to fit size is your height and width used in the html code (not the source file). Saves bandwidth and gives a better user experience.
Since your file will be "downloaded" (not streamed) you could instruct your visitors to do some other work while your file downloads. Neck stretches, clean their monitor or pour another cup of coffee.
If your goal is HD your visitors must know that these files are huge and that they take a very modern computer with plenty of horsepower.
Your only other option is to reduce the file to more "standard" definition.

I need an example of JSR179 implementation for CDC based device

Actually i am trying to develop an LBS(Location based Service) application for Pocket PC that is a CDC based Device,
I searched a lot on internet for any example that could help me but could't found anything usefull information.
I found a lot of stuff for MIDP, i found JSR179 implementation for MIDP but could't found anything for CDC(Connected Device Configuration).
So i need an example of JSR179 implementation for CDC based device. I really need it.

What is it from a business perspective that you are trying to accomplish?
What are you going to do with this data once you get it into the format you're envisioning?
Are you anticipating creating a collection of REC_SET records? Is there a reason that you're not using an associative array keyed on the c2 value (assuming collections are even appropriate to the problem you're trying to solve)?

Using JSR 75 FileConn API + JSR 135 to display an image

Hi Guys:
How would one select an image file (let's say JPEG) from a folder that is exposed on a device and then resize and display on screen using a midlet.
Do you read the file using JSR 75 FileConn API and the transform it using JSR 135 and the display?
Also can reading a large or high res image file cause an out of memory exception?

I don't know if your already found a solution.
You are correct about the fact that you need JSR75 to load the file. Then to show it on screen you can use the Image class and use a form or a canvas to show it. What I don't know is how to resize it to fit the screen. And also I guess you can't open large files with it.
To load the image i use this code:

image=Image.createImage(is);Take into account that every time a file is opened, a security warning will appear asking for permission. As far as I know it can't be avoided unless you sign your application with a certificate.

I am getting the below error while activating the sap Fiori applications

I have applied all suggestions in my new fiori system from Masayuki Sekihara posted on his post.
but still I am getting same error message.
I got below error message.
1) If I selected a EC6FIORI system alias to ZTASKPROCESSING services then i got below error message.

Problem in creating new implementation for filter dependent badi

Hi Experts,
I want to use badi NOTIF_EVENT_POST.It is a filter dependent badi. It is asking filter type while implementing thro se19. Could anyone pls tel me how to create new implementation for the filter dependent badi. Existing filter type is QMART. is there any problem if i change the filter type?

Hi ,
NOTIF_EVENT_POST is filter dependent and filter values are based on QMART value in table TQ80. You need to specify the filter value ie : QMART value before implimentation , before that check all active implimentations for the same , if u have to impliment on same filter value , you need to deactivate the one which is implimented on same filter value .
You are not supposed to change the filter type.

PDF quality issues on Adobe Reader for Pocket PC 2.0

The quality of PDF's rendered by Adobe Reader 2.0 PPC is awful when compared to Adobe Reader LE. We are running it on HTC X7500's with a nice 5" display, but you have to zoom in +5x to read the text on our parts manuals, where as LE renders the same manual crisply and sharply and you don't have to zoom in at all to read the text. Unfortunately we use a lot of hyperlinks, forms and annotations in our documents which are only available with AR2.0PPC and not LE or indeed any of the other 3rd party readers (FoxitReader, PocketXPDF or Clearvue).
I'm assuming that this is down to anti-aliasing methods used, and that AR2.0PPC has not been updated for four years!
Are we likely to see a version of Adobe Reader for Pocket PC with the quality of LE? or have Adobe given up on developing this platform?

Ho Kay... have looked at the file and, based on the general layout (drawings with part# references) don't think you can get there from here.
Back to the basic goal, a couple of thoughts based on the assumption that your company is generating these pdf's and needs pda access to them.
Perhaps the part# references can be hyperlinked so the tech could tap the part# on the image and go to a table entry with all of the info on that specific part.
In that case, html would be a better format for navigation since, afaik, there does not seem to be a <back> button in reader.

Configuring Kodo default implementation for field of Collection type

If I am not mistaken default implementation for field of Collection type in
Kodo is
LinkedList based proxy. It would be great if it were possible to configure
Kodo to use a proxy of my choosing
I did some tests and it seems to me that ArrayList is much more efficient
than Linked list (see below)
Is there any specific reason I am not aware of that makes LinkedList better
than array list
In my applications all collections a relatively small (or at least most of
my collections are definitely small)
and since I use Collection interface there is no inserts into middle of my
collections - only appends (which ArrayList handles very well)
So my question is can I make Kodo to use ArrayListProxy for fields of
Collection type
(except of course using ArrayList field instead of Collection which I do not
want to do)
below is some statistics on collection performance (populating and iterating
collections)
the same test against 3 collections implementations (JDK 1.4.1)
Not only ArrayList by far the fastest and memory friendly it also garbage
collected much sooner and better -
I show here max memory consumption and last to would not be garbage
collected till all memory is in use (old generation GC)
and ArrayList seems to be collected by young gen GC because it was collected
very quickly between test cycles why other only when all memory was used
So please make ArrayList your default collection implementation :-)

You should be able to accomplish this fairly easily by extending
SimpleProxyManager:

and overriding the appropriate methods (getCollectionCopy and
getCollectionProxy).

Exception "not implemented for class oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CNumberAccessor"

Hello I'm having some troubles dealing with 'java.sql.Date' I'm working with express edition database and I have three classes(different packages)
1.Mapper
2.Objects Class
3.ConsoleTest
I need to get an arraylist of objects, some of which contain dates, but when try to do it I get this exception
"java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column type: getDate not implemented for class oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CNumberAccessor"
Do you have any idea how I can implement the getDate method for this T4CNumberAccessor

Found the answer, I shouldn't use integers as parameters of column index in the result set, but instead use String to mark the fields :)

Unable to create the implementation for BBP_PD_DOWNLOAD badi

Hi ,
Iam trying to create a new implementation for this BADI BBP_PD_DOWNLOAD as zbbp_pd_download but when iam trying to activate it .iam getting a message that already active implementation is there and i cannot create a new implementation unless i deactivate the other one.since it is a standard one i cannot deactivate it .
Has any one used this earlier . any inputs on this wil be of great help .

You can create any number of Customer Implementations, provided only one is active at a time.
Here are the steps ->
Either Using SE18 / SE19 Transaction, or
After you call the IMG activity, the system displays a dialog box where you enter a name for the implementation.
If implementations of this Business Add-In have already been created, the system displays them in a dialog box. You then choose one of them by choosing Create, and continue as follows:
1. In the dialog box, enter a name for the implementation of the Add-In and choose Create. (Say ZBADI)
The system displays the initial screen for creating Business Add-In implementations.
2. On this screen, enter a short description for you implementation in the Implementation Short Text field.
3. If you choose the Interface tab, you will notice that the system has filled in the Name of the Implementing Class field automatically, by assigning a class name based on the name of your implementation.
4. Save your entries and assign the Add-In to a package.
5. To edit a method, double-click its name.
6. Enter your implementation code between the method <Interface Name>~<Name of Method>. and endmethod. statements.
7. Save and activate your code. Navigate back to the Change Implementation screen.
Note: You can also create an implementation for an Add-In and not activate it until later. If you want to do this, do not carry out the following step:
8. Choose Activate.
When the application program is executed, the system carries out the code in the method you wrote.

Minimum implementation for SMTP-ESMTP clients

Hi,
if I want to develop a Mail client I can use SMTP/ESMTP. I read already some of the RFC-Specs, but I cannot find an advice for the minimum implementation for a client - just for servers.
Is the minimum number of commands the same as for the servers (7 commands for SMTP and 9 commands for ESMTP) ?

Need version for Pocket PC 1.0

Does anyone know where I can get an old version of Reader for Pocket PC 1.0. I have an old iPAQ Pocket PC with monochrome screen that's ideal for reading eBooks. Gives very long battery life. Most of the eBooks from my library are PDF format. HELP!!!

I don't have a Pocket-PC but a PALM OS based PDA with LV-7.1
The button style of two buttons dialog box is not a bold one. It's a plain font.
I'll ask the question about Pocket PC specifically.
