JTree Selection navigation is not proper.

I have used the JTree in my application. I have to move the highlighted bar on the JTree Nodes using Arrow Keys. Its is not working. If i use the Arrow Key, Red Color box around the node only moves instead of the highlighted bar. I am running this application in UNIX environment.
Any body have solution, please inform me.

if your tree model uses Strings you should definately not confuse using == and .equals. Thats where i got problemsfrom some time ago... but with out your code we cant help you much....
think about making a SSCCE (http://mindprod.com/jgloss/sscce.html)

JTree selection problem when using custom renderer and editor

Hello:
I created a JTree with custom renderer and editor.
The customization makes JCheckBox to be the component
responsible for editing and rendering.
The problem is that when I click on the node with the checkbox
the JTree selection model does not get updated.
Without customizations of the editor and renderer the MouseEvent would be fired and BasicTreeUI$MouseHandler.mousePressed() method would call
the selectPathForEvent() method which would be responsible for updating
the selection model. At the same time if I attach a mouse listener to the JTree (customized) I see the events when clicking on the nodes. It seems like the MouseEvent gets lost and somehow as a result of which the selection model does not get updated.
Am I missing something?

You probably forgot to call super.getTreeCellRendererComponent(...) at the beginning of your getTreeCellRendererComponent(...) method in your custom renderer.
Or maybe in the getTreeCellEditorComponent(...) of the TreeCellEditor...

Treeview Selected Node is not visible

Hi
I have below code snippet

                            tn.Selected = true;
This code was working fine when i was having Windows XP OS..
Now that the XP OS has been upgraded to Windows7, it is showing the collapsed tree view only i.e the selected node is not automatically displayed. If you expand the treeview to the selected node, it is selected/highlighted correctly.
Please help to solve this issue

There is a different TreeView for every UI Technology (WinForms, WPF, ASP.Net). Plus several 3rd party TreeViews. Please specify wich one you use and ideall repost in the proper (sub)forum for the UI Technology.

JTree selection models

Hi,
Is it possible to have a JTree whose nodes are selectable only at a predefined level? For instance, in one JTree the user would only be able to select nodes at level 1. The children would not be selectable, but would just provide information to the user. Similarly, In a different JTree that I need to create, the level 1 and 2 nodes would NOT be selectable, but the nodes at level 3 would be.
I have examined some of the methods under JTree such as setSelectionRows but am not sure how to implement it using this. The JTree data at all levels will come from a database. I can supply it as a Vector easily enough.

It sounds like a general description of your problem is that you want some nodes to be selectable and others not to be, and that in each case you have an algorithm that describes which nodes may be selected.
One way to do this would be to apply a TreeSelectionListener to the JTree, and have that listener censor the selections. By that I mean that when it sees an attempt to select a non-selectable node, it would simply modify the list of selected nodes to exclude that node (with or without notifying the user, whatever you wanted).
Another way that might work is to create a class that overrides DefaultTreeSelectionModel. In particular, override the addSelectionPath(TreePath) method to do nothing if the TreePath parameter represented a non-selectable node, otherwise to call super.addSelectionPath. Then assign an object of this class to be your JTree's TreeSelectionModel. This would be a cleaner design, if it actually worked, but I haven't tried it myself.

Chart with Navigation Target not working propertly

Hi All,
I have a question regarding charts with navigation targets.
I have a simple report with these 3 columns: QUARTER | REGION | SALES
And I want to click on sales, and see the sales detail by the region and the quarter on the line I clicked. This works fine when I have the Table View.
But When I go into a Chart view, ( axis Y->sales, axis X->quarter, x-y->region ) and I click on any intersection, I cannot have the quarter filter applied.
On the target report, I have the filter like: "quarter is prompted".
Does anyone knows why this may happen? I do not have the latest version of OBIEE installed, I think I have 10.3.3.3, but I'm not sure.

Selection tet -description not getting displayed

Hi,
In abap program, the text for the selection text is not getting displayed. For ex. for field p_matnr which is nothing but mara-matnr, the text name Material number is not getting displayed and instead it shows p_matnr on the selection screen. I have activated the dictionary check box on the selection texts still it is not working. The strange part is the same Selection text 'P_MATNR' displays the text correctly in another report but on this report even if i uncheck and check the dictionary check box it does not display. Has soneone faced this before?

Select-options are not destroyed while calling view of used component popup

I'm facing a unique problem. I'm calling a view of a component within another component. the view that I'm calling has some select-options. When I close the popup window ( using close 'X' of popup ) and then try to reopen the popup system give me a dump. I debugged and found that select-options are not destroyed by system and once it tries to create the select-options again it dumps because they are already there.

Selection Criteria addition-Not working

I have this report wherein I need to add two fields VBAP-Kunnr and knvv-konda in the selection screen so that I can do my drill down or search criteria based upon these two selections also apart from the existing ones, but unfortunately I am unable to get throiugh this and somehow putting this two selections in the selection criteria its not taking any effect or its just actinga dummy selection and I am unale to drill down my report based upon those. Can anyone have a look and let me know what could be the problem please. Help would be highly appreciated.

While creating pdf from html, the alignment is not proper

Hi,
In my application, I am creating a pdf report from html using (using Generate pdf 1.1 - HTML URL To PDF activity) which contains certain images and descriptions.
But, while generating pdf the alignment is not proper. In the HTML there is no paging, but in the output pdf the image div is getting broken when new pages are generated.
Some blank areas are coming the report.
Actually I need an exact replica of the HTML as a pdf, with paging.

Selection criteria are not applied to summary fields on group footers.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem. I am using Crystal reports version 11.2, and my data source is a Sql Server view.
The records on the view have a date field, and I have selected all records within a given date range in "Selection Formulas".
The records are then grouped, and the Crystal summary facility used to summarise number fields on the group footers.
So for example, if my view contains four records, one with field "amount" = 2, one with field "amount" = 8, one with field "amount" = 6, one with field "amount" = 3, but only the first two records are within the valid date range, you would expect to see the first two records listed out at detail level, then field "amount" summarised at group level, with a summarised value of 10.

This works fine when I run the report using Crystal's "print preview" facility. However, when the report is run from within an application written in C#.NET, the selection criteria are not applied to the summary field, so you get ..

I tried putting the date selection criteria at both record and group level, but that did not work.
I googled the problem and found an article explaining that Crystal first performs the record-level selection, then it creates the groups and totals up any summary fields, and only then does it apply the group-level selection criteria, which can lead to problems like the one I have described above. However, since I have put my date selection criteria at both record and group level, I do not understand why I still get the problem.
In one report I got round this problem by creating a formula that returned zero if the record date was outside of the valid date range, and returned the number field to be summarised if the date was valid, then summarising that formula, instead of summarising the number field directly.
In other reports I created one formula to set a shared variable as zero, then another formula to accumulate it at detail record level, then another formula to display the variable at the group footer. In other words, I did not bother with the Crystal summary facility at all, but created my own summary facility.
While googling the problem to see what other people did in this situation, I noticed that most fixes used variations of the "shared variables and formulae" fix to get round the problem.
The problem is that I have lots of complex reports and it will take ages to replace the summarised fields with shared variables and formulae. The reports were initially tested with "Print Preview" so we did not notice this problem until the C#.Net application was ready to use them. And I can't believe that you are simply meant to ignore the summary facility and re-invent the wheel by doing it all manually.
Please tell me that there is something simple that I have been doing wrong!!! If I have not given enough information for you to answer, please let me know.

Select() function is not working properly in solaris 10.

We are facing an issue with select() in Solaris 10. we had written a sample program to this issue.
Program name :- sel.cpp
int main()
struct timeval sleeptime;
sleeptime.tv_sec = 60;
printf("1\n");
select(0,NULL,NULL,NULL,&sleeptime);
printf("2");
return 0;
When i run this program in Solaris 9, its printing 1 and after one minute its printing 2.
When i run this program on Solaris 10, its printing 1 and 2 without waiting for 60 seconds.
When i tried to print tv_usec, its printing as 0 in solaris 9 and some garbage values in solaris 10.
I think because of that the above select function is not working properly in solaris 10.
Why the tv_usec is not taking 0 as default values in Solaris 10?
We are using our legacy code for past 20 years. So, before going to do any changes we are trying to find why this happenig like this.

It sounds to me that you've been lucky for 20 years then.
Local POD variables on the stack that aren't explicitly initialized can contain any value. Here's what I see in your app with dbx

Opened a tac and managed to get the resolution of the problem. For those with the same problem reported by me above just follow the procedure below:
1. uninstall existing SRE-V software

2. run sm-hw-util to set sata mode to IDE

3. configure a static, 32bit route to point the service module IP address to the SM slot/0 interface

"Selected disk does not exist" after install using Unetbootin

Hello, I downloaed core iso file and use unetbootin to created a bootable usb disk, then I booted from the usb disk, installed the system as usual, then I rebooted the machine, the grub menu is shown, but when I selected archlinux, it shows:

if I press any key, it goes to grub menu again.
I noticed that when I installed the system, the usb disk is /dev/sda1, the harddisk is /dev/sdb1, /dev/sdb2 ... (several partitions), so I guess there is a problem here, and when I reboot, harddisk becomes /dev/sda1 sda2... so the system cannot find /dev/sdb1 2...
I read a post about unetbootin, it did not mention anything about the problem, so I think there is no problem install using unetbootin...

Try to change (hd1,0) pour (hd0,0). GRUB considers the disk from where he was loaded as hd0.
