Jukebox 2 problem with

I have a Jukebox 2 that worked fine with windows ME, but when I upgraded my OS, I can't connect to the computer to transfer files. I updated the firmware without a problem. I tried installing the newest Mediasource, but it says that there is no associated hardware. I installed the Nomad Explorer, but it says no device is connected. I check in device manager and ensured the driver was corect and it shows everything is working correctly and it sees it when I turn it on. Any ideas?

You go to Nomadworld.com downloads, select MP3 Players > Digital MP3 Player > Jukebox 2.
From the resulting list you need to download <EM>Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 </EM>and <EM>NOMAD JukeBox Type 2 Version .0.03 (English) Web Release.</EM>
<EM></EM>
You need to install MediaSource first, then install the NOMAD Jukebox Type 2 file.

  • Problems with Nomad Jukebox Zen and Mediasource - Please he

    Hi,
I own a Nomad Jukebox Zen NX, and I'm having problems with Creative Mediasource seeing the device. Everything has been working fine for a while; I have been able to upload songs from my Zen to my PC and download songs from my PC to my Zen. However, when I tried plugging in my Zen today, the computer did the normal "boop-beep" signaling that the device had been plugged in. However, when I went into Creative Mediasource to download some songs to my Zen, the Zen did not come up under the "Sources" menu, on the upper left, where it usually does.
I exited Mediasource went into "My Computer" on my desktop and, sure enough, the Zen was there under "Audio Devices," and when I double clicked on the icon, it brought showed all of the music files I have on my Zen. This shows that my computer does indeed see the Zen, but Mediasource doesn't?
    Any ideas?
All help is very much appreciated,
    Jason

Your MediaSource plugin of the MP3 player may have been uninstalled. Here is what you should do:
    <FONT face=Helv size=2>
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.

  • Problems with seeing jukebox in

When I connect my Creative Zen Touch 20GB to PC USB port system says that it is connected but NOMAD Explorer says that it is "not connected" and i cannot transfer files. What can I do?
Thank you in advance.Message Edited by Pacio on 03-26-2005 06:04 AM

I have done the clean up... And it has deleted my all tracks! Fortunatelly it was only classical samples but I wanted to copy them on my hard disk...
Cleanup shouldn't delete the tracks did you do format by mistake? Either way the samples cannot be copied to the hard disk as they are locked.
This player has never worked - it is completely new.
    Yes, MediaSource works.
Can you connect to the player with MediaSource? And if not, do you have the latest version of MediaSource and the MediaSource Type 2 plugin?
    What is Device Manager?
Windows Device Manager, under System properties.
P.S. - I have tried everything on the another PC too, but I have the same problem.
This doesn't bode well, this suggests there's a problem with the player.
There's lots more connection advice here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net, although you've tried some of it.
The problem is that connection issues can be caused by so many things including problems with the player, the cable, the USB on the PC, driver or software issues on the PC... it's tricky to troubleshoot over a web board.

  • Problems with Mediasou

I have been having huge problems with MediaSource ever since I bought by Zen Touch. For some reason, this software slows my computer down to an extreme level, including not allowing me to use some programs (including WMP 0) and forces me to restart. This happens EVERY time I try to start MediaSource. Another big problem is that even when I try to start MediaSource, most times it won't even open! And if it does open, I can't get it to recognize my player. I have tried all the upgrades that are on the site (which made these problems happen on an even BIGGER scale). I also tried to uninstall everything then reinstall everything back to original fuctionality without the upgrades (although these problems have happened from the very beginning) and it still will not recognize the player and the software seems even worse!
Is anyone else having these problems where Mediasource slows the computer functionality? I mean a major hit (even though it says only 5% CPU Usage in taskbar) that will slow everything. Is there a way to fix this, or is Mediasource just that bad? After reading some of the comments, it seems that people seem to be ok. Why am I getting hit so bad? Is there an alternati've I can use to Mediasource (for this is making me want to throw the Touch away and buy an ipod, the ease of use functionality is looking better and better for the price the longer I spend trying to figure out how to USE the software)?

<SPAN>bufu3284, what is the problem you that faced when transferring songs from your Zen Micro to your PC? By the way, <FONT face=Helv size=2>have you:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
    - (Depending on your firmware)
Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    or:
Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices (version .00.8) from your product download site.

  • N 97 FM Transmitter PROBLEM WITH CHARGER / QUALITY...

Helllo. got my RM 505 FW 11  with several problems concerning the built-in FM Transmitter.
When used under UMTS 3G EPLUS with LCG Jukebox 2.41 the Transmit Power seems to Low.
    I tested it with freq. 88.30 , 88.60 ,96.00 and 107.00 for example.
Always i got crackling noise and interferences .
But when i plug my Nokia USB Charger to the Device , FM Transmitting is nearly impossible.
to the point the batteries recharging the amount of FM send power is very low. but when i plug off the charger ,
the quality is much better , but far away from a good result. i noticed that whenever i touch phones metal frame , the quality rises , but when i left phone alone quality falls down to hell.
i compared it with my nokia N86 8MP but there is NO problem with or without connectet USB Charger so
i guess maybe it is a hardware fault of my device ?????
Could anyone be so kind and check his N97 with and without USB Charger in car while transmitting MP3 to radio ??

  • Problem with iTunes Music Playback

Hi, I like using itunes but im having a problem with the music playback. If i have just itunes running and some background programs i.e. anti-virus playback of music is fine but I want to be able to surf the web, and play my games while listening to music. However when i try to so this the sound becomes muffled, choppy and can skip and slow down all in all its impossible to listen to. I thought this may be a problem with my PC but its not a slow one. I tried Windows Media Player and while browsing the net, playing my games etc playback was perfect. Also ive done everything on this page> http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93610 but still had no luck. Now i will use media play if i have to much i much prefer itunes ans it has all my libary sorted out. Any help would be brilliant.
    Thanks
    Mark

Even though you LOVE iTunes, there are many other programs out there that don't require extra software to be installed for it to function....there by freeing up your CPU to run more programs.
I would seriously look into trying something different that doesn't need to hog so much system resources....until they reduce their program's needs.
Try something like Winamp or Musicmatch Jukebox.
You can have your library to show up pretty much the same way that they do in iTunes. You'll just have to read through the user guides to get it exactly the way you want it.

Sorry about this, but what do you mean by *rescue mode*? and how do i start it up in it's I'm new to all this :P
There is an FAQ on the topic. let me qoute from Cat, the mod.
"Ensure that the Jukebox Zen is turned off.
Hold down the Play/Pause button and insert a paper clip into the Reset hole on the Jukebox Zen.
Remove the paper clip from the Reset hole.
The Jukebox Zen will enter the Recovery (Rescue) Mode (release the play/pause button) and the following options will be displayed:
).Clean Up (Performs a disk scan on the players harddisk)
2).Format All (Formats the players harddisk - Note: all contents will be lost)
3).Reload OS (Reloads the Operating System on the Jukebox. Note: Reloading your OS, will not effect the contents of the files stored on your Jukebox Zen)
    4).Reboot (Reboots the device). "
Not really sure what the reset hole is beacuse I don't own a jukebox Zen (Creative Zen Firewire / USB 2.0 / Zen NX / Zen Xtra / Zen Touch) Message Edited by Aaron-XP on 06-04-2005 0:4 AM

  • Zen Jukebox Extra Problems, makes me want an IP

I have had so many problems with my Zen that i feel i would have been better off paying the extra money to purchase a **bleep** IPod! Has anyone else has as much trouble as i have had?first it just randomly craped out on me. it just froze out of nowhere and stopped wanting to connect to any computer, plus my music dissapeard. it was something wrong with the hardri've, so i sent it in and they gave me a new one.then my boyfriends computer would not recognize my Zen so i had to update the firmware so he could run his service pact programs. once the firmware was updated i had to reload all of my music that i had saved on to my boyfriends computer. while doing this i realized that half of my tag information that i had changed in the Zen organizer was WRONG because it did not change the tag info, but only the view on the Zen. Plus, the new Zen organizer that is spose to work with the new firmware was not created to except the Zen Extra so i also had to DL a seperate thing just to make it work with my Zen. Then within that new organizer i discover that they dont allow you to have the left pannel artist view in the "my jukebox" area, but only in the "my computer" area, makeing it impossible to organize the music on my zen.And now, as i was dl music today, i had to delete things by hand within my mp3 player because the computer was not recognizeing the updated tittled versions of the music i was DL. while trying to delete albums it froze. i believed it was because the battery was low, so i let it die. i came home to charge it and my mp3 player is now frozen at the EAX screen and will not turn off. I wanted to save money and not be such a corporate whore and buy a Zen. i had heard wonderful things and i saved about 200$. Now i feel that i would have saved myself alot of time, frusteration, and headaches if i had just gave in and spent the extra money to join the dark side of the evil ipods that rule our earth.comments? anyone? before i sucumb to the darkside?

Yes, the Nomad Zen Extra has given me a lot of problems, too. So many that I finally did go to the dark side and bought an IPOD. And contrary to what everyone else said, no I am not hard on the player. It has not been dropped and the case is in prestine condition. When I bought it, I had no problems for a very short time. The first thing that happened is that I couldn't move forward or backward or the thing would freeze. I would have to reset the thing to get it to turn back on. Then I had a problem with charging it. When the battery would start getting low I would plug it in over night and get up in the morning and the thing would be completely dead. I had to plug and unplug it several times and keep checking it to make sure it was charging. Then all of a sudden my computer stopped recognizing the player. I even tried to load the software on my new Dell laptop and had a lot of trouble getting the player recognized. That has been a continuing problem. After many evenings and late nights trying to get the player to work I gave up for about 8 months and bought a small IPOD for my music. I'm getting ready to take a vacation now and thought I would try to upload some ebooks to the creative since it has a larger hard dri've. But guess what? Now I'm getting the simple that indicates there is a harddisk problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software, installed all the updates and still nothing. Wait a minute, there is something, the symbol on the screen keeps changing from Rescue Mode to the symbol that indicates it is conected to the computer. But I try to sync it and the Rescue Mode comes back. I tried Clean-up, Fomat, Reload OS and reboot. Nothing works.
And one more thing, I'm not a computer moron either. I'm very computer literate. I'm just going to download the books to my IPAQ, my songs to my IPOD and just give up on the Zen Xtra once again!!!
I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this device!! And my IPOD works great!

  • Software Installation Problems with Media Source and Nomad Explo

    Hello Creative Users,
recently I had to reinstall my operating system on the PC. I have an IBM Thinkpad R30 with a Sitecom USB2.0 pccard. I am running WinXP Pro SP2 with all latest updates.
I have a Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra with Firmware .20.08 and an update harddri've of 80GB.
As long as I was running the software on my previous installation everything worked fine.
I installed the driver .26.02. This recognized the Jukebox. Musicmatch is able to communicate to the Jukebox and recognizes all files on it.
When I installed Nomad Explorer I got an error ctregserv failed because ctin...dll is not found.
When I tried to install Media Source from the original disk it showed an error after 30% Media Source not found. Install Media Source before continuing.
This is what I received now with all verisons of Media Source and Noamd Explorer incl. .30.0.
Can someone help me as synchronizing with Musicmatch is a pain.
    Thanks
    Rolf

    Hi everyone,
as I saw many questions regarding installation problems with Mediasource or Nomad Explorer
in this forum I will answer my own question right here. I was pointed to the answer by a friend with a similar problem on some other software.
When trying to install the Creative software under WinXP SP2 I happens that the registration does not work. the reason are missing write attributes to the keys for
Creative software. To correct that go to: Start, Run and enter regedit. Hit ok and you are in the registration editor.
Find the Creative location unde HKEYS_SOFTWARE. Click right mouse button and choose
    properties.
Check full access for your user as well the system user. click on advanced and mark both all the users you want to install from. Check the lower box below the user window sayin something about roghts being propagetd to lower folders etc. Cklick conform and ok, click confirm on previous screen and close regedit.
Now you should be ok and able to install.
    Regards
    Rolf

  • Help please!!! problem with setting up Zen NX (software/driver e

<SPAN class=postbody>Hello, i am new to this forum and have limited knowledge about the Zen NX and would really appreciate any help or advice that you could offer. O.K. i got a Zen NX in Jan 2004, ran the software disc supllied, no problem. I then turned on the player but it was not recognised by the computer ("Device not connected") so i went to the support site and found out that this was a known problem and needed to download a piece of software which i think was named (Drv_JB3.EXE)?. Once this was done i had no problem at all and the player turned out to be a great piece of kit. About two months ago i had to re-set my computer to the factory settings because of a virus, anyway yesterday i decided i would put the software back in for the Zen NX and add some new music. I did everything as before, and luckily i had saved the extra piece of software that was required in order to get the computer to recognise the player. Unfortunately, everytime i tried to download the software it just kept saying that there was a problem with the driver and that i should reconnect the player in order for the software to work, which of course never happened and it just kept on repeating this message everytime i reconnected the player. Anyway i spent the rest of the day uninstalling the main software and reinstalling and then trying the latest drivers downloaded from the creative website and also the latest version of Media Source etc, all to no avail (getting well pi**ed off at this point) i even did a "restore" in XP to see if this would help but no joy. Just to let you know i think that the origional driver version was (.23.00) and the Creative Media Source version was (.0.84). I do not think that there is a problem with the USB port or cable as the computer recognises that a new piece of hardware as been added when i plug in the player.
<SPAN class=postbody>I have posted this message on nomadness.net but as yet i have had no reply<SPAN class=postbody>
Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated, before i launch the Zen out of the window!!!
    <SPAN class=postbody>
    cheers, Burni.

    Get the following:
. Creative Zen and Jukebox Driver Upgrade version .30.03
    2. Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2
    3. Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource
Install . then connect the player to the PC. Then install 2. and 3. (the player must be connected for 2. to verify you have a Creative product).

  • Problems with Zen Ne

To those who owns a Zen neeon... help is needed here.
There are 2 problems i faced.
) I used wireless network and Zen neeon. When i connect my Neeon, the com seems to detect as my network adapter Linksys wireless-G USB network adapter. This happends ON and OFF... not frequent though.
    2) After i uploaded my mp3s, i ON the player...somehow it takes "forever" to load the songs and "update content"...i thought i HANGS, so i resetted and delete some mp3s....in the end realise it REALLY takes tat long to load....Y? so slow mey? i used to use jukebox zen also not tat slow. SAD.

    Hello,
I've also been having problems with my recently purchased Creative Zen Neeon MP3 player. The unit was always rather laggy compared to other MP3 players that I or my friends have used. I thought this was normal for this player, but I've come to the conclusion that this "lagginess" is no longer acceptable and constitutes a problem with this device.
Having read your post, I now know that I am not the only person with such problems. Below is a breakdown of the problems I have had with the unit.
) The unit has been "laggy" and unresponsi've since the day I purchased it. It take a long time for it to execute instructions and for the display to show up - i.e. sometime is take a while for the display to show the correct information while the unit is playing another track.
    2) The unit constantly hangs. The unit is supposed to support "drag-and-drop" style transfers. I transfered folders of songs to the unit via the "drag-and-drop" method. Some folders seem to play fine, however attempts to open some folders or play tracks cause the unit to hang.
    3) when I tried to move a folder of songs into the music folder, the player showed that there were no music files in the folder, even though while checking it on my computer, the files were cleary in the music folder and I could play them there.
While I do understand that this product was only recently released and there are bound to be some problems. I do hope that Creative takes acti've measures to resolve these problems and provide better trouble shooting in future. Personnaly, I will be bringing the unit down for repair or replacement. It would help if fellow users of this device were to list any problems that they may have with the product.

  • Creative Jukebox ZEN problems w/nForce

I'm having a problem with uploading mp3 files into Creative Jukebox ZEN. After several tracks the transfer gets aborted. The problem occurs both over USB and IEEE1394. It also seems to be application independent (happens in Creative PlayCenter, Notmad and Media Player).
Creative Tech Support's position is that there is a problem with nForce and IRQ sharing. They claim that the problem of aborted transfers is caused by nForce not properly handling concurrent IRQ calls of devices sharing the same IRQ (there are plenty devices sharnig the IRQ11 on my system, which should be normal and should work without any problem to my knowing - nForce networking adapter, nForce audio processing unit, GeForce graphics card, Modem, IEEE1394 controller and USB and USB2.0 controllers).
They advised to unplug all USB devices to minimize calls by the USB controllers. This did not solve the problem entirely but increased the stability of transfers (now roughly 100's of songs get uploaded in one go insted of 10's).
I wonder where the problem could be, because none of my other devices has similar problems (e.g. transfers of photos from my Olympus digital camera works flawlessly). Could it be nForce driver problems? BIOS settings? (is it worth trying to upgrade the BIOS? - about the only thing I haven't tried) Some kind of ZEN's driver timing problems, maybe?
    Any opinions?
    My system:
    MSI K7N420 Pro (bios v2.30)
    AMD Athlon XP 1700+
    512MB RAM (DDR 266MHz PC2100)
    GeForce3 Ti 200
    Windows 2000 Professional SP3
latest MSI drivers (over Live Update)
    nForce Platform driver 2.0

I can tell you one thing that many of us here did to open up IRQs for use, and that was to enable APIC in the motherboard BIOS. Gives you 22 IRQS to play with. Now as to what you have to do to get Windows 2000 to recognize and take advantage of this, I'll leave to others. I have windows XP myself.

  • [845 Series] mb msi 848p neo-v problems with sound card

Since I've bought my new MB, I'm experiancing some problems with my sound card. WinAmp and MusicMatch Jukebox ( any version) does not support 5.1 sound system, but playing in stereo system. The soundcard AC97 is OK, cause Winows Media Player is working properly.Does anyone had such problem and solved it?
I must say that I've already used MSI MB, and all APPs worked properly with the same sound card. The difference is that my ex MB was based on old Intel processors, but not Presscot based as this one.

Have you installed the latest driver to
    the Realtec soundchip(ALC 655)?
