Jump list vanishes when Firefox updated

Whenever a Firefox update downloads, the jump list that should appear when right-clicking the icon on the Windows 7 taskbar vanishes. It's a pain to then remember what websites were in that jump list in order to re-create it.
Is there any way to avoid losing the jump list when Firefox updates?

This feature that helps to block ad and social network tracking appeared on the last update, it had a green drop down where I could then get a screen showing the number of tracking that are blocked, not blocked and could block the ones that weren't. Today when Firefox updated it disappeared. I do have the TrackerBlock addon installed, but I found the drop down helpful and would like to get it back.

Normally they do not -- but I assume that my photos and contacts can disappear at any time for any reason and act accordingly even when not doing an update. This and other forums have hundreds of posts of lost pictures and lost contacts caused by all sorts of situations and issues.
In addition to backing up to iCloud or via iTunes, I would recommend that you import the pictures to your computer if you have one: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 and that you sync your contacts http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296

When Firefox updated, I lost the toolbar including the link for bookmarks. When I "searched" for Bookmarks it said I had none.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
If that helps then you most likely have some security software that isn't working properly.

It opens after initial install of 3.6.8, but as soon as I add the roboform and downthemall add-ins it restarts and won't open again.
I have had these add-ins for awhile without issues, but for the past two days, I have had to reinstall it twice, and this time it won't work.

Sound doesn't work when on the internet. Only has happened since firefox updated on my computer Aug. 25-26 sometime. All of my sound divices work fine off the net.

Reset the SMC and PRAM each at least 2-3 times. I don't know where you got instructions for these resets so please navigate to Intel iMac SMC and PRAM resets for correct instructions just in case.

When Firefox updates and error message comes up telling me to close other windows of Firefox.

There are no other window of Firefox open. Each time I open Firefox the update starts and then come up with the error. I click on no for the update the next time and the window will open without doing the update.

Dashlane stopped working on MAC 10.9.5 when Firefox updated. NO dot at all under the reindeer.

Firefox updated this morning to 33.1. My Dashlane is also up to date. Reindeer is present in toolbar. It is grey BUT has NO dot. I checked the extension. The extension is present and enabled. This has happened on both my desktop MAC 10.9.4 as well as my MacBook Air 10.9.5. Really need a solution. Can't get into anything. Thanks so much.

HI please update the dashline plugin or try a new install. Mozilla is looking into this issue and has provided the recommendation of that update as a work around.

When Firefox updated, my dad could no longer use the browser as it kept saying that is it working off line and to uncheck that option. Where do we find the option to uncheck?

My 82 year old dad downloaded your latest update and he installed it. He used default installation as he does not know how to do custom. When he started up Firefox, it came up with the dialogue that Firefox is off line and that he was suppose to uncheck work off line Box. i looked through my Firefox and I cannot figure out where that box is. He is 150 miles away from me so I can't really look at his computer.

Use "Alt" key to show menu bar temporarily the on the File menu uncheck "work offline".
You don't always get a message that tells you that you are off-line so even though I hardly ever need it I do install the following because of it's connected/disconnected icons

I should bring your attention to the fact that your user agent says you're using Firefox 3.6, not 3.0. I will remind you that Firefox 3.0 has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems.
As for your problem, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. How can I recover bookmarks and files that were lost when Firefox updated?

This morning, there was a message that firefox needed to be updated. Since I don't like (or use) Google Chrome or IE, I unchecked those options as part of the update. Once the update was completed, all of my bookmarks and folders were gone. Is there ANY way to either recover the missing items OR restore/roll back to the firefox browser I was already using?

Lost bookmarks is why the developers created an internal bookmark backup system 5 years ago; if a users bookmarks get lost, the user can restore a bookmarks backup file from up to 5 days before the loss happened. And because some users were too slow to seek support or were too slow to recover those backups within 5 days, the developers doubled the number of saved bookmark backups to 10 days worth in Firefox 4.0.
