Jump to Slideshow at end of Movie?

Hi,
How do I do this with a chapter marker? i just simply want a DVDSP slideshow to play if a user presses a chapter forward button before the movie finishes.
TIA,
James

Figured it out. Just added a chapter marker to end of movie track and set track end jump to slideshow. Not at all difficult.

  • Jump to Slideshow

    Hello,
    I've built a DVD with a lot of clips of video, about six menus, and one slideshow. All the authoring seems fine. It works very well when I simulate it or play it in my MacBook Pro's DVD player.
    There's a problem that has seemed to occur when the DVD plays back on standard DVD players: if the viewer hits "stop" on the remote control and then goes back to hit "play," the DVD will automatically jump to the slideshow.
    The slideshow is not "First Play." That has been assigned to a welcome clip from the host that then end-jumps to the main menu. The slideshow is not even the primary button on any of the menus. It's also not assigned to the end-jump of any other items. The only way to get to the slideshow is to activate its button in one of the menus.
    To my brain, if a viewer hits "stop" and then "play," the DVD should return to where it was in the track when the viewer stopped it. Alternately, going back to the main menu would not be horrible, nor would returning to the welcome clip at the very beginning. But defaulting to the slideshow is confusing and problematic.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,

  • Creating Apple TV photo slideshow in Windows/Converting .mov to Apple TV

    I have a newly purchased 160 GB Apple TV and am having some difficulty creating a slideshow. Ideally, Apple would offer iPhoto for Windows or I would own a Mac, but neither is currently true.
    So, what is the best/easiest/cheapest way to create an iPhoto-esque slideshow in Windows XP? (transitions and audio track)
    In my initial attempts to accomplish this task, I have created a slideshow using QuickTime. I opened a music file in QuickTime, then opened an Image Sequence in QuickTime, then copied the image sequence and Added and Scaled to the audio track. Finally, I saved this "slideshow" as a QuickTime movie (.mov). This isn't ideal, because there are no transitions and if the photos aren't all landscape it's troublesome. Nonetheless, I tried to open this QuickTime Movie then use the Export to Apple TV conversion process. Unfortunately, QuickTime basically just freezes when I try this. The progress bar never moves from 0%. Any advice here?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    The simplest way to make a slideshow without adobe photo elements is simply to put collections of photos into folders and sync them to the tv. tv will allow you to add transitions and add a soundtrack from any music you also have synced. In the current version of tv the ending of the slideshow is a little abrupt but I'm sure it will improve in future versions.
    I can't think why QT won't convert your QT (slideshow) movies, perhaps you can tell us a little about the movie. Open in QT, open the movie info window and post back the info you find there.

  • Trying to put a "jump scare" at the end of a video

    Working on a light hearted halloween video and wanted to do a jump scare at the end.  Can anyone tell me how to do the effect often used in horror movies where the image flash on the screen as a negative of itself?  Used a lot horror trailers, often accompanied by a sound effect.

    There is an emoji keyboard included by default with iOS5, no app needed.
    You've just dug up this thread from 10 months ago. Prior to iOS5 when this thread was last posted to, the Emoji keyboard was only selectable on Japanese iPhones. Various apps just 'enabled' that keyboard on non-Japanese iPhones.
    Since iOS5 the built-in Emoji keyboard is available to anyone.

  • How can I not "fade to Black" at end of Movie?

    Hi experienced iMovie people,
    Been searching for a while and still can't find an answer. I'm trying to end the movie with a "Title" and it still fades to back. I've tried cut, etc. which worked great on the opening "Title" where I wanted the screen to show the text but doesn't work at the end. You're welcome to see the movie at: http://AudioGirlProductions.com to see what I mean. It's right there on the Home Page.
    Thanks,
    Lori Rae

    That can happen if the audio is longer than the movie. You need to crop the audio (not just fade it).

    Inspector > Animate > start transition to Automatically and set the delay to the duration of the video clip.

  • Ending a movie in Premiere Elements 7

    Premiere Elements 7:
    How do I end my movie without the extra 10 minutes of blackspace that shows up everytime I render it?
    My movie has video clips, slides, and transitions. I never put a formal ending on it, I just stopped dragging material into the sceneline. Once I render a 30 minute video, roughly 15 extra minutes of black space show up. How do I tell Premiere Elements 7 to end the movie?
    Thanks,
    Ben

    I am stumped, as well, especially as PE doesn't allow one to "lock" a Track, or anything similar. It should be an easy process to select, and then delete the offending Clips. If the Lasso does not work, try Rt-clicking the Clip and choosing Clear (I think that is the proper syntax for deleting in PE and not storing the Clip in the Clipboard). If not Clear (the term in P-Pro, then look for Delete).
    One observation that I have made, as to a possible cause for these tiny Clips, is that if one drags a Clip to abut to another Clip, with Snap On, and you drag too far (basically banging the moved Clip against the previous Clip), you can locate the moved Clip INTO the previous one, cutting of a frame, or two. These will then automatically go to the end of the Timeline, without any warning, or notification. Then, as you tighten things up on the Timeline they remain orphaned and can be quite a ways from the actual Clips, depending on how much editing one does. The trick is to drag the Clip (the one being moved) until you see the thick black line. It now butts up to the previous Clip. Let it go now and do not drag it into the previous Clip, or you'll get those orphans. Now, they *should* be easy to delete, if you remember to go looking for them. Always check the Time Code of your (intended) Clip with the Time Code for the Duration of your Timeline. They should match frame for frame. Otherwise, you've got an orphan problem.

  • Lost sound when end of movie reached

    Hi All.
    Have a slight dilemma here - Occasional - my apple TV will quit outputting any sound when I reach the end of a movie (either through fast forward / chapter scan forward / or normal play to end of movie).
    I can tell there is no sound output because the receiver changes the display to tell me what channels are being passed to it - and the receiver says there are zero channels of sound. I also have the menu clicks turned on.
    I've had the apple TV for about two months now - with the latest update installed. I am using composite video cables and optical audio to my Yamaha AV receiver (863) - then passing video only to the TV (Old 28" Sony Wega) via composite cables. The apple TV sits in a well ventilated position in my AV furniture (open to the air with no components above or below it).
    This occurs for only some video - some video works fine. All video streaming has been encoded with HandBrake 0.9.3. All Video has the same audio / video settings, all video has chapters embedded.
    I have made a change in my streaming recently - I moved itunes + all content to a Windows Home Server (HP EX-490) - this is the only change from my previous streaming (which never showed this problem).
    Once the sound issue appears and the apple tv quits outputting sound to the receiver - no sound is available - however - I can continue to stream video / audio and everything appears to play fine - with the exception of no sound. To rectify the problem - I have to unplug the apple tv for 5-10 seconds - plug it back in - and sound output has returned (I haven't tried the Menu + Back trick yet to see if that works as well).
    I'm leaning away from the change in servers being my issue since it still streams and just losses sound. Anyone else ever see anything like this? Could it be an Apple TV issue / heat issue / encode issue?

    I think it's an audio conversion issue with certain streams.
    If I run some HD captures from my CAnon camera through handbrake direct I lose several seconds of audio at the end, so I think it's a problem processing audio/video streams in some circumstances.

    Everything in your project will be exported when you use the share menu.
    If you want to export only half, I suggest that you
    1) Select the project in the Project Library.
    2) Click FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT
    3) Give the duplicate a name, like Project A snippet.
    4) Open the duplicate project in the Project editor and delete the segments that you do not need.
    5) Then Share.
    You mentioned surrounding a portion of the clip you were editing in Yellow. Once you do this, you should right-click and then select either DELETE SELECTION, TRIM TO SELECTION, or one of the other options available. That is a key tool in editing.
    You mentioned MPEG Streamclip. I agree that MPEG Streamclip is a great tool.

  • Automatic play reverts back to main menu at end of movie.

    I want the DVD to autoplay, without having to make a menu. But automatic play always reverts back to the main menu at end of movie. How do I make an autoplay with no menu at all?

    Hi
    a. Not possibly
    b. By faking a "Non-menu" one can get that impression.
    • Black background slide
    • No animation
    • No audio
    c. You can select loop. Then it doesn't end on a menu but keeps on playing.
    d. I think that if You use the OneStep-DVD You'll get a non-menu at the start
    (auto-starting) and no menu at end.
    I would do. Copy movie back to a miniDV tape (Camera) and use OneStep-DVD from this.
    There might be other ways to do this.
    Yours Bengt W

  • How do you return to main menu at end of movie in iDVD 11?

    I have created a movie in iMovie '11 with chapter markers, and imported it into iDVD 7.1.2 (1158) on an iMac
    running OS X Lion 10.7.2
    The movie imports all chapters with corresponding labels perfectly. I added a chapter at the very beginning of the movie in iMovie, and it shows up fine in iDVD.
    I removed AutoPlay since I want the DVD to play the Main Menu upon inserting it into a DVD player. What I can't figure out is how to make the DVD return to the Main Menu once it finishes playing to the end of the movie. It will automatically go to the Chapters selection menu instead. Is it possible to have it return to the Main Menu?
    In God's Harmony

    It is very possible that your iDVD Project has no Chapter Markers.
    It's possible.  My "project" which included pictures as well as movies was all done in iPhoto as a slide show.  From there I exported the slideshow into iDVD.
    I sort of messed up "I think."  I believe I did the original burn incorrectly-tester #1.  I re-burned another one this afternoon which turned out very well-tester #2.  Think I will stick with the options I used for tester #2 since it was the easiest.
    For "chapters" I will need to do some extensive "how to" reading especially when it comes to iMove.  I used iPhoto since it accepts both photos & movies.  I "think" iMovie only deals with movies?
    Thank you very much for your last post.  It was very helpful.
    Now onto the iPhoto fourms to learn how to "add" photos & movies to where I want them, not where the computer wants to put them.

  • I have made 3 attempts to burn an IDVD Slideshow with no movie.It skips the slideshow and goes to movie then error multiplexing msg .Help

    I have tried 3 times to burn a slideshow to IDVD and get the multiplexing msg toward the end. I notice that it skips the slideshow process and goes to the movie burn. Have not movie in the slideshow. Help

    I had the same problem and solve it using  this sequence. Here you go:
    1) Delete all old iDVD projects that you couldn't burn under the same name;
    2) Reboot your PC;
    3) Quit all open applications (check if any is open at "Force Quit");
    4) Go to: Users/Library/Caches and delete folder com.apple.idvd
    5) Go to: Users/Library/Preference and delete file com.apple.idvd.lists
    6) Insert a blank DVD;
    7) Go to "Applications" and open iDVD (don't open it from any previous iDVD project);
    8) Select " Create new project" and prepare your project;
    9) Go to iDVD Preferences / Advance / Burning Speed: and select 4x ;
    10) Go to menu "Advance" and deselect "Encode in Background";
    11)  At the same above menu, click "Delete encoded projects" and select OK (ignore alert messages);
    12) Select "Burn" and... no more problems!

  • Why did iMovie end my movie before I finished?

    I've been creating a movie and when I went back to work on it, the timeline that allows me to add media to the movie will not go past the end of my last photo. When I try to add music or another clip to the movie, it will not allow it to pass the 4 minute line. Help!

    Good to hear that the speed adjustment fixed the audio glitch for you Deborah. It would be nice to have, say, an option for 75% on the speed slider, as there is a big jump from 100% down to 50%. Often a more subtle speed adjustment is called for - particularly for wedding videos (good to see that you are editing your own wedding video).
    I'm not sure about this, but iMovie '11 may work correctly when adjusting the speed by entering the percentages manually. I don't recall anyone posting problems like this when using iMovie '11 (it's usually isolated to iMovie '09). So, if your Mac OS supports it, now might be a good time to upgrade to iMovie '11. For the latest version (9.0.8) you need Mac OS X 10.7.4 or later. If you are on Snow Leopard (10.6.8) I think iMovie '11 will update to 9.0.4 only.
