"Jump to URL-" menu?

How can the “Jump to URL…” menu item be hidden or disabled?

Peter and I have been out this week where we were meeting up at the Writers UA event in Memphis. Internet was very spotty.
@David - I suspect you are creating Microsoft HTML Help (CHM) format. Peter is pretty much exclusively WebHelp or AIR Help, so he's likely unfamiliar with the menu you mention. If you look at the URL linked below, you will find info on posting images.

As for the menu, I don't believe there is any way to suppress it. This is because it's simply part of the Microsoft HTML Help viewer application. While it's possible to extend the functionality of the viewer (as evidenced by the addition of the Browse Sequences area or the Glossary tab RoboHelp provides) it's not possible to remove this option for jumping to a URL. The only way to "remove" it, is to avoid using the CHM format and build your own viewer.

Navigation to jump to different menu ?

Most chapter menu systems on commercial DVDs allow the navigation flow to advance through several menus, where each menu "page" may have 4 chapters, and on the fourth chapter, the right arrow would actually advance to the first chapter on the next chapter index "page."
I only see how DVDSP4 allows navigation buttons to map to other buttons on the same menu, not jump to another menu.
Is this not possible, or is there some workaround/trick?

You can place a button with auto activation (which can be quirky) to jump to the next menu so when the right key it pressed after the last button it moves on.

DVDSP plays video instead of programmed jump back to menu.

After playing one video clip, DVD is programmed to end jump to the menu, but instead, it plays another video clip, from a completely different menu. There is no doubt that the end jump is definitely to the menu, not to another video clip. What is causing this phenom?

Yes, All the tracks are separate assets and separate tracks. The end jump for A is the menu from which it came.
(Menu 2, Button 2=play videoA - jumpback to menu 2) The tracks are on separate time lines.
I did fix the problem, but created a new one! (SEE BELOW, I'd love to see if you have anysuggestions for the new problem)
I think the program just freaked out.
It really did not make any sense at all. I tried to delete the one track that kept attaching itself to the wrong buttons. (track d)
(Menu 2, Button 2=play videoA - jumpback to menu 2, had become: Menu 2, button 2= play video A & video D from menu 4 button 3 then jump back two menu 2)
I deleted track D from it's proper menu and button, removed it as an asset in the button editor, removed it's button from it's menu, removed it from the graphical, and then went to remove it from the assets folder. But dvdsp told me that it could not be deleted from assets folder because is was "in use by track A and track B" That was wierd because the tracks were in no way linked.
So I deleted all the offending tracks A, D and B, and reimported them into assets and reprogramed them to the buttons in the appropriate menus.
That fixed that problem! Now the videos play as they should when the correct buttons are activated. BUT that created a new problem.
NEW PROBLEM:
Now I can not see images in the buttons for A,D, or B. That is to say, I've got fifteen buttons each is assigned a freezeframe from the buttons' target video (Button Asset). I see the video freeze frame in all the buttons except for these three. In those buttons, all i see is the background. They are all programmed just as the rest are in the button editor, the target video is assigned to the button and them the button asset is assigned to be same as target video, motion is NOT clicked as I want a single frame to be seen.
But even though the settings are the same for all the buttons, these three won't show up.
I'm thinking its like a memory problem.... but it can't be. I've got 4GHZ of ram and 400 Ghz hard drive, of which 290GHZ is available.
Any suggestions?

Doesn't jump back to menu at the end.

After playing the last chapter it would not go back to the main menu. What is the problem?

Thanks a lot; I was looking for that jump feature until I got the answer. I had to double click on the track to get that. But what puzzles me that in all other projects I did not have to specify the jump feature. It worked without. I went to check the setting and it says jump NOT SET! Why did it jump?

How do I make track end jump go to menu and highlight next button.

I have a DVD with several programmes each with its own menu button, with track (button) one as the highlighted default. I would like the end jump of each programme to be back to the menu (easy) BUT with the button for the next track highlighted. How do I do that.

Click on the Track your want to jump from - then in the properties panel select "End Jump". A pop out menu will appear giving you the choice of where to go. Select the Menu you want and choose the Button you want to land on in the list.

Muse page content "jumps" when using menu button

I Created a simple portfolio website in Adobe Muse. Two pages (projects and contact) and for both using the same underlaying stramien page (don't know the English word for that). I added a menu widget to navigate between the two pages. Works fine, but whenever I use the menu button the page content (text and/or pictures) make a little vertical jump before they are in their right position. Obviously this little "jump" is not like it is supposed to be. The website is not yet published or online, cause it's not finished yet, but the problem occurs when I preview what I've made so far.
What could be the cause of this problem and how can I repair it ??

are you using Chrome?
try loading my page, www.stacystechpubs.com using Chrome.
Then you see a bar of menu items across the page (home, who am I, terms,...) try clicking on one, then the next one, then the next one. You'll see the box 'Stacy's Tech Publications' jumps when you click on a link.
If you still aren't sure what I mean I need to take a screen capture video and upload it.

I've made a disc in DVDSP with a lot of video in it. Once a video plays it just hangs on black, how do i get all the videos to jump to the main menu once they've played out?

Consistent jump from animated menu to a transition clip in DVD Studio 4

Hi there,
did anyone know a possibility how a consistent jump out to a short transition clip in DVD Studio Pro 4 could be made?
My problem is, that there is a animated video background clip running as loop in a menu. If the button to the next sub-menu is activated a short transition clip should be played. But to get a consistent and smooth transition between the menu an the clip, the jump out should be done when the video is at the loop point. Only there the end and the start frame of the following transition video are equal.
I have searched solutions and tried different scripts but did not figure out any one with the expected function...
Did anybody have solved a similar problem before, or is there maybe a simple solution for it?

Just to be shure...is there no way that when a user presses the button at any time, that I could trigger the jump to the next menu or clip to a fixed point (best the loop point) of that menu.(maybe by a GPRM used as counter)
A delay time between activating the button and the next action is the result and would be depending on the length of the animated menu. But that's OK if at the end a good transition will come up.

Jumping back to menu after chapter has palyed

Please help me. I have been going insane trying to work this out.
Here is the story. I have imported a project into dvdsp. It runs for 1hour and 45 minutes. Its of a guy playing basketball in the states. I have created four chapters which link to each of the games throughout the dvd. What I want to do though is have other links to special highlights and then at the end of the segment have it return to the menu. I have tried creating a seperate chapter for this but when it gets to the end of the special highlites it continues on to the next game. I dont want it to do this. I want it to link back to the main menu. Do I need to create these seperately in final cut pro and import it as a seperate track into dvdsp? As I mentioned, I have only one track imported with the main chapter markings olong the timeline. Am I being really stupid by missing something so easy or what. Thankyou in advance. Matty

Say I have marked on my basketball games video, chapters 1,2,3 and 4. these 4 chapters are linked to the different games. If I then want to link a highlite section - say of a guy shooting cool hoops- would I then have to go to the start point of this section in the video and make a chapter mark where it starts and another chapter mark where it finishes? These 2 new chapter marks would be numbered 5 and 6 because I already have chapters 1-4 for the games. Does it matter that chapters 5 and 6 may fall between chapters 2 and 3 on the video track. To me , it just seems strange that you have to set another chapter mark for the end point. I hope this makes sense Drew. If you could get back to me or even email me. [email protected] . Quartz Composer - Jump to URL

With the Apple RSS Screen Saver, pressing a key will jump you to the selected article. I would like my screen saver to jump to my webpage when a key is pressed. (I am working in Quartz Composer)
I have looked at the Apple code, and can't figure out how to get mine to do this. Any sugestions?

I figured it out. A simple copy and paste.

Why does Firefox jump to the menu bar when I type single letters - b, f, e, t...

The letters are acting as shortcuts to the menubar making it impossible to type in google search or other fields.

Alt does not appear to be stuck. I am back to 3.6 now and it is working fine. But when I hold down the alt key and press b or t etc.. it goes to the menu bar in the same way it would before. So perhaps that had something to do with it. Firefox 3.6 is working much better - including no flash update bs on youtube. Thank you.

DVDSP - End Jump to Menu 1 and Chapters Markers from Final Cut Pro 5.0.4

I got to the point where I set the end jump back to Menu 1 for each of the two films listed with buttons on Menu 1 of my DVD.
One film has no chapter markers and the other has 4 chapters that I set up in Final Cut Pro, edited as Chapters and Saved for DVD Studio Pro when exporting the Quick Time. This functionality is great and very nice. At the end one does return to the (main menu) from both short films.
What I found, as stated in the manual, was the first chapter marker is automatically put in by DVD Studio Pro. On the film with 4 chapters by depressing the button on the remote one can skip ahead. When on reaches the 4th chapter one does not have a 5th marker for the end and one has to watch the 4th chapter to reach the end and then go back to the main menu. What I was trying to put in was a 5th chapter marker, or a marker at the end of each film where if one wanted to go back to the Main Menu before the film time had elapsed, one could hit the chapter ahead button and reach the end of the film, and be returned to the Main Menu.
When I put in end markers in DVD Studio Pro, the build stops stating there is a GOP boundry problem. After reading the manual I went back to end chapter markers in Final Cut, but these do not come through. I tried more than one second from the end of the movie but this does not seem to be the answer.

Yes, the end marker is the solution, and it does need to be a certain distance from the end of the media. If placing markers in FCP, I put it 1:03 from the end. If you need to you can extend the FCP sequence, or even the track in DVDSP with a little black. In DVDSP, if I don't have an embedded end marker in my asset, I use the little "clicker" arrows next to the time fields in the marker inspector to move the marker two GOPs or "clicks" from the very end of the asset or track.

Menu button jumps to wrong submenu

Hi, I'd consider myself an advanced DVDSP user, I've used my own problem solving on this one and was hoping it is a known program glitch...anyone seen it before?
My main menu has four buttons linking to sub menus. When one of those buttons is selected it will play the video transition properly but then jump to a menu that has the background of a different menu, but the buttons are all screwed up. The buttons jump to various places throughout the DVD with no rhme or reason.
After my problem solving didn't turn anything up, I crossed it off as a freak incident and rebuilt the menu...which solved the problem. But then the same thing happened to another menu.
One noticible detail...everything works great in the inspector, the problem only occurs upon building it and viewing the video_TS folder in DVD Player or from the burned disc on a standard player.
Any thoughts?
I've got to finish this up and record to DLT...I'm a little nervous about getting back the pressed discs with some random problem that didn't show up elsewhere.

You still don't have an answer?? Give us a chance! This is a voluntary group you know - all users of the software just like you. Between your first post in this thread and the second is less than half an hour.
To answer your impatient question, the menu button is supposed to go from menu to track and from track to menu. It doesn't jump about randomly at all, it simply moves from one domain to the other. If yours is jumping randomly then you really need to examine that bit and sort out why first of all.
If you really want to disable the remote control menu button whilst in a menu, have a look in the user operations of the property inspector in the advanced tab. You can disable menu calls there. Mind you, it will make your disc somewhat unusual and go against a few established conventions... better to teach your viewers how to use the navigation than to simply disable it for them.

Looping Menu Jumps To Track

Hi- Can someone please walk me through setting up a script where the menu will count the number of times it's looped and if it reaches a certain number (say 4) it then jumps to play a track? To make this a bit harder, what I'd like to do is when the end of the menu is reached I want it to jump back to the looping point of the menu, not the beginning- makes it hard for me to also understand what the script links to and from.

Hi Robert,
Set the menu timeout to a script.
add GPRM 0, 1 //adds 1 to the register.
Jump Track 1 if (GPRM 0 = 4) //if the value in the register is 4 then jump to the track.
Jump Menu 1(Loop) //otherwise jump to the menu at the loop point.

Focus jumps to menu bar without reason in PS CS5

I have owned every Photoshop since before it was called Photoshop. In my new Photoshop CS5 while I am working, suddenly no tools work and the keyboard starts to give the anoying "Donk" error sound with each key click. It took me a while to realize that the focus had jumped to the menu bar. If I hit the escape key it goes back to normal opporation. This happens several times an hour. What the heck is happening?

Has the annoying required double-click on the menus been solved?

Chances are you're using the Alt key as a modifier in a Photoshop operation, and it's invoked the more or less standard funcitonality of being the "intoducer" to a menu selection key. As you have noticed, this is new with Photoshop CS5.
There have been some attempts to put scripts or other software together to block or modify this behavior.
It's also just barely possible that Adobe has done something in the later Photoshop updates to address this... I say that because it seems to have been a long time since I've noticed it. It may just be that I've re-trained my fingers... In any case, make sure you're up to date with Photoshop 12.0.3.
You might be able to locate the threads in this forum in which some people have provided workaround software by searching for "Alt menu CS5 ding" or similar.
Good luck getting it tuned to your liking.
