Jumping to First & Last Pages of a PDF Doc.

I am using Acrobat 9 Pro with Windows XP Pro. In Acrobat 8 Standard, I was able to jump to the first or last pages of a documents without have to use the page navigation arrows. Can I jump to the first and last pages of a PDF doc. in Acrobat 9 Pro? If the answer is "yes", how do I install that feature on my toolbar?

If you don't want to use the navigation arrows, have you simply tried ctrl-home and ctrl-end. Keyboard shortcuts often save a lot of time. I watch folks trying to bring up the little display in PPT a lot, rather than simply using F5 or shift-F5. For some folks, I am not sure they remember what a keyboard is.

Photo Page with lots of pix - any way to jump to the last page?

I have a photo album with 112 pix in it, and it's set to display 21 photos per page w/ 3 columns. This makes for a total of 6 pages.
The way the page navigation shows up, at least in Safari, is as follows:
< 1 2 3 4 >
Oddly, in iWeb it shows:
< 1 2 3 4 5>
I continually am adding photos to this album, but I think that people may not realize that there are more than 4 pages. The only clue is that the right arrow is not grayed out, which is too subtle.
If you click on the "4", and then click the right arrow, it now displays 1-5 like in iWeb. Clicking on it one more time then displays 2-6.
If all of the pages can't be displayed for space reasons, some indication of how many pages total would be helpful, and/or a "last" link to jump to the last page.
On this discussions site, for example, doing a search with multiple pages of results brings up the following:
Pages: 12 *| 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 | Next |*
This makes it obvious how much content there is, and how far you have to go to get to the end. Is there any way to get something similar on an iWeb page? I think people are missing my latest additions because they don't know they're there, and there's no easy way to get to the newest stuff.

I couldn't get the other "jump to the last page" script to work at all; it winds up screwing up the display to where it shows two pages at a time slightly offset from one another.
It's more likely that you web host servers take time to serve the page and its element, I ran into similar problem while helping out another person in this forum.
But, while I'm finally seeing the page count directly above the page navigation numbers, it's indicating that there are 7 pages when in fact there are 8, and I'm wondering why it disappears after changing to any other page (it doesn't reappear even on the first page without doing a refresh). I've tried this with the same results in Safari 3.1.2 & Firefox 3.01.

I also found that the bottom paginate navigation cause problem, so I added more code to handle that.
The result may not be desired but cause the page count flashed when you go from one page to the next, quite annoying. Give this a try:

Jumping to the last page of a table

Hi there,
At the moment, if you add a new row using dataProvider.appendRow(), on a table with multiple pages of rows, you may not be able to see the newly added row. This happens when the row is added to the last page,while you are still looking at the first.
Does anyone know a way to make the table jump to displaying the last page?

I had the same question before but with no answer. But after digging several post, I've solved it. Use the tableRowGroup.setFirst() like this:
RowKey rk = xxxDataProvider.appendRow();
xxxDataProvider.setCursorRow(rk);
int rowid = Integer.parseInt(rk.getRowId());
tableRowGroup1.setFirst(rowid);
This will automatically make the table to jump to the last page.

Can I print the last page of a PDF document using command line?

I am in a situation in which I constantly have to deal with multiple PDF documents and I need to print the last page in each of these, and ONLY the last page. The total number of pages will vary for each file, so the page number for the last page will also vary.
I would really prefer to not do this manually, by opening up each file in the visible Adobe Reader window and then print.
Question:
Is there a way with Adobe Reader (maybe with the help of some other Adobe product) to print only the last page of a PDF document using some kind of command line without opening up the PDF file in the visible Adobe Reader window?
I'm using Windows.

I tried both ways and neither works. It gives me a prompt box that I have to click "next" for every page but after going thru all pages, nothing is sent to the printer.
Also, all directions I've read indicate it will print to the default printer. If my default printer is on a network, will that cause problems....
and...
should I be getting a prompt box on every page? I thought all this would happen behind the scenes and not force me to interact with every page.

The last page of every pdf document won't print.

If I ask to print just one page - nothing. If I ask for two pages, I get the first page. Help. Using Mac OSX 10.9.5 and Adobe 11.0.09
I tried printing using an older version of Adobe, had the 'won't print last page problem' so I upgraded to the latest version. Still the same exact problem. Does anyone have suggestions?

I have the same problem, but not just in Acrobat. Indesign also. So... I can't print a single page. Have to print two, and toss the one I don't want. Seems to be a problem with Adobe print interface. I can sometimes "trick" it by going to system print dialog box and back out again.

Are you touching the Touchpad with your palms/hands while typing?
Turn off the touchpad by pressing Fn+F9, or disable "Tapping" in the Advanced Touchpad Settings.

Look at the several pdf readers and annotation Apps. I think several will allow what you want to do.

How do I / Can I access "prior" pages in a PDF Doc in iBooks?

I am producing a pdf document that is a decisiopn tree that is to be used on an iPad or iPhone in, of course iBooks for species identifications. I create the book in Pages (for the vector graphics & text) and am placing links using Acrobat. I would like to allow the reader/ user to retrace their steps back through the decision tree the same as is inherent to Acrobat & Reader. But of course the menuing items to do this are not accesible in iBooks nor in any other implementation of a PDF reader that I have found in ios. Is this something (prior page stack - does it exist?) I can access through the developers toolkit?

Moving a page from a PDF doc to M/s Word

I have a 90 page PDF from which I need to move 1 page, a map, into a word document.
I am using win 7 & Word 2007 I have tried various approaches without any success, Can anyone advise please.

Follow these steps for Acrobat 11 .
Launch Acrobat>Tools>Print Production>Acrobat Distiller
Now in Acrobat Distiller follow these.
Select Standard in Default settings.
Go to Settings and select Edit Adobe PDF Settings.
Select Fonts and in the font source window select the fonts you want to Add.
Click Save As and then OK.

Rotate a page in a pdf doc

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 standard installed. I am trying to rotate 1 page out of a 50 page pdf document.
Documents -> Rotate Page feature is grayed out. And so is Pages -> Rotate Page.
Is this feature not available in AA 9 standard? Is there another way to rotate just one page and not the entire document?

Adding Extra Page to a PDF doc generated from XSL & FOP

Hi, I am using XSLTC and FOP for tranforming XML to PDF.Using the JAXP 1.3 API to do this.
I am getting the xml through a web-service and using stylesheets and FOP to convert it to PDF.However my problem is that i want to add a extra page at the end of every PDF that i am creating.
This extra page at the end of every PDF is a kind of info-page whose content might change.
Can i possible create a xml doc and a corresponding xsl stylsheet to create this page and somehow merge it with my original PDF Document.I am keen on keeping the generation of this page(i.e XML and corresponding stylesheet) to be seperate

HI ...though i have resolved this issue i am facing another problem and any insight from all you people would be good help.
Basically the scenario is standard ...Webservice --- which could possibly return multiple XML strings which are required to be rendered into PDFs.
These Strings are received in a JSP along with other values like as follows.
eg :
Name : XYZ0 Age : 57 Profile : PDFLink0[/u
Name : XYZ1 Age : 45 Profile : [u]PDFLink1[/u
On Clicking the links a PDF is supposed to be rendered.
Presently i have a Servlet which calls my PDF component and renderes a PDF based on primarily XML String and other params etc....
The Issue is all these PDF links in my JSP page are Hrefs and am wondering how could i pass my XML String nd other params to my Servlet.
One option could be as a Query String but i dont want to take that approach .I would rather prefer a Single Object(Created and populated in the JSP itself) and passed to the Servlet.
Could anyone give any inputs....as to possible ways this could be done.

How do I view all Components the page of a PDF doc?

I'm using the text touch-up tool to make a correction to a document which is auto-generated through an internal system as a very complex pdf document.
The text disappears behind another component as if it's being pushed below another panel.
Is there a tool which would allow me to view a PDF document in much the same way that Word has a tool.
I'm not so much wanting to edit the document now but more would like to understand how these components are being placed together.
Something that would allow me to see a document and see whether an item was text or whether an item was some type of graphic which cannot be edited.

Reader cannot extract pages. You would need Acrobat or some other program that can extract pages.

Creating PDFs using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and can only see the first 10 pages in PDF even when the page numbers on bottom state 10 of 13 (or any number greater than 10).

PDFs create great, unless they should be over 10 pages and then it appears the data was converted to PDF by viewing the page numbers at the bottom of the PDF but you can only view the first 10 pages in the pdf file.

Could you please let me know what exact dot version of Acrobat 9 and OS you are using.
Have you tried repairing Acrobat from the Help menu?
Acrobat 9 is an older version and incompatible with new OS versions, so I would suggest you to try using Acrobat XI (latest version) and check for the same.

Pdf prints last page mirrored and upsidedown

Last year, my old tower Mac (OSX10.7.X) suddenly began printing out the last page (only) of any PDF with an odd number of pages inverted in both vertical and horizontal axes (i.e. upside down mirror-writing), when doing double-sided printing on our HP Color Laserjet CP4005dn. Single sided printing from the same Mac and PDF worked fine. The same last page also prints correctly if I simply chose to print that page alone. I do not have the 'flip horizontal' checkbox ticked. I could find no solution.
I bought an iMac 27" late 2013 with OSX 10.9.4, all upgrades installed. I still have the same problem. I repeat, this only happens in double-sided printing (selected 'long edge binding' under Layout) of the last page of a PDF with odd-numbered pages. Word docx and other documents print just fine from the same computer and printer with same settings in the Print dialogue.
Any suggestions?

Well, it's time to ask Adobe for help... Probably some preference file corrupted or similar...
On the other hand, personally, I would be trying some generic maintenance right now -
Reset Printing System:
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
Startup from Recovery partition (or any other bootable drive) and repair the disk drive using Disk Utility:
(read just the 1st paragraph About Recovery from this)
OS X: About OS X Recovery
consider downloading and re-updating using the COMBO updater (this isn't from Software Update/App Store):
OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Update (Combo)
(or similar for Lion)
OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
