June 2014 Muse Update Fail

I've tried to update to the June 2014 Muse update. I sign in at Adobe and click on download. The window says the file is downloading, but nothing happens, I've tried using Firefox and Safari. not sure what else to do.
Also, I'm not sure what the AAR window is prompting me to do. It says to pick an application, but I'm not sure what application to pick. I chose Muse (since I am updating that application), but that just sent me back to the original Muse update window to start all over again.
I am on OSX 10.9.3
Is anyone else having this problem?

Me Too,
It's really grating me that there seems no response from adobe, I would have expected they produce a troubleshooting guide for common problem's regarding loading new updates, but hey ho there you go ! maybe i'm missing it

  • In Browser Editing-June 2014 Muse Update-Only Working With Widget Menu

As a non-BC user, I'm now able to accomplish in browser editing from my hosting company. However, I found that I cannot navigate to any pages that are not attached to a widget menu and edit them. Clicking on an in-website link not associated with the widget menu will take me to that page but not allow any editing to be done. It also does not load the page name in the address bar.
I did find a work-around with this: change the page name in the address bar to the non-menu-widget webpage name. It loads the page and allows editing. Not really user-friendly when trying to teach my clients how to conduct their own website edits. You have to supply them with every non-menu-widget page name to edit them. Ugh!
Does anybody know if Adobe is working on this? Can anyone suggest an easier work-around?

Could you share what site you are trying to edit? I haven't been able able to reproduce this problem.
When hovering over an object (text frame in this example) that has a hyperlink, a "Click" button should appear that allows the user to follow the link instead of editing the link text.
If only part of the text contains the hyperlink, the click button does not appear, but a small arrow shows when hovering over the link indicating that the click will follow the link.

  • June 18, 2014 Muse Update crashes Muse

Just upgraded to Mavericks OS so that I could install the June 18 upgrade. After opening Muse, I click on "Install Now" and Muse immediately crashes—several tries, with OS restarts. Fortunately, Muse opens when I decline the new install. Puzzled!

I should clarify. I did not do anything pother than click on updating now and it crashes, but will open if I click on update later. I did not add or change anything system-wise before that.

  • Muse update fails repeatedly

When starting Adobe Muse the application asks if I want to update [A new version of Adobe Muse is available]... and then after download it fails everytime saying:
"Sorry an error has occurred" The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author"
It does this every single time. It is getting a bit tired.
I am attempting the install on a new 27" iMac running OSX 10.7.5
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Muse update fails, cannot find directory error 43?

When I try to update Muse it keeps failing,, "can't find a critical file/directory error 43"
    How can I help?

Dougcoms this error indicates a failure to write to a specific directory.  I would recommend reviewing your installation logs to determine where the file permissions under your current User account have become compromised.  Please see Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html for information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files.

  • Muse update failed, and AAM is not recognising the situation

I have a problem. I checked AAM, and no updates were pending. I then started Muse, and it stated that a new version was available to be installed.
I ran the installer, but after it completed, I was unable to start Muse.
Tried various things, and read the discussions, here. Tried uninstalling, re-installing, Creative Suite Cleaner, clean install of Muse 4.0, checked that the latest version of AIR is installed etc.
    Any further ideas?
Message was edited by: Maelstrom Red

    Finally, managed to re-install Muse.
When the the previous version of AIR (v3.5) was installed (having first uninstalled version 3.6), AAM was automatically updating it to v3.6  - which meant that Muse installation was not successful.
By downloading, and using the AIR SettingsManager, to disable automatic updates - http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/applications/SettingsManager/SettingsManager.air was I able to stop AAM automatically updating AIR to v3.6.
This then allow me to use AAM to install the current latest version (v4.0) of Muse.
Just need to remember to re-enable AIR automatic updates, once the problems with AIR v3.6 have been sorted out.

  • Blue screen error Windows 7 after June 2014 Windows updates

    Hi,
just wondering if someone could help determine the cause of a blue screen error from interpreting the following minidump file. My PC has been having blue screen problems after getting the automatic windows updates recently. Initially the only way I could

These crashes were related to memory corruption (probably caused by a driver).
Please run these tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't
know what it is you probably are not overclocking.
Since it is more likely to be a driver please run verifier first.
1-Driver verifier (for complete directions see our wiki here)
If verifier does not find the issue we can move on to this.
2-Memtest. (You can read more about running memtest here)
If you cannot boot after enabling verifier reboot into safe mode

  • Muse CC 2014.1 Installation Fails

I have been using Muse CC 2014 on a PC with a fully-updated version of Windows 7. Recently, the CC Desktop App informed me that a new version was available so I tried to install it from there. I got the error message below.
    Exit Code: 7
Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR:
    -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
    - 0 fatal error(s), 3 error(s)
    ----------- Payload: Adobe Muse CC (2014.1) 2014.1.1.6 Muse_2014_1_CC_LS24.msi_2014.1.1.6 -----------
ERROR: Key not valid for use in specified state.
ERROR: Install MSI payload failed with error: 1603 - Fatal error during installation.
MSI Error message: Key not valid for use in specified state.
ERROR: Third party payload installer Muse_2014_1_CC_LS24.msi failed with exit code: 1603
I totally uninstalled the old version. I made sure (as best I could) that there were no partial versions of Muse anywhere on my computer.
After much Googling, I did (or attempted to do) everything suggested on this page Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation except for running the Adobe Cleaner Tool. I did not run the Adobe Cleaner Tool because I don't want to have to reinstall Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Encore, and all the other stuff I use every day.
I have tried other stuff but nothing seems to be working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    - Lee

    Thanks for the quick response.
I was able to uninstall and update other apps both immediately before and immediately after I started having trouble with Muse. I use most of the CC suite and Muse is the only one that is giving me problems. The two previous versions (CC and CC 2014) worked fine and I had no problem with updates or new versions. Muse 2014.1 installed just fine on the PC laptop I use sometimes but it isn't installing on my desktop PC.
The install location is C:\Program Files\Adobe.
Below are all the errors listed in the log. I am including them in context so you can see what came before and after. If you need me to post the whole log, I can do that.

  • Since Apple's last Update on 6 June 2014, I have been unable to Import photos from any source. I receive a message saying, Importing photos but nothing happens. When I click on Stop Import, nothing happens. I must press the On/Off button to exit iPhoto.

Since Apples last update on 6 June 2014, I have been unable to Import photos from ANY source. When I attempt to do so, I receive the message "Import  Preparing to inmport..." I've waited 10 minutes but nothing happens. When I click on the icon, Stop Import, nothing happens. When I attempt to Close iPhoto i receive the message, "Photos are being imported to the photo library. Please wait for import to complete." When I click on OK, nothing happens. The only way I can exit iPhoto is to press the On/Off button.

After loading this file I was sucessful in importing photos from a web site, my camera memory card and a CD containing photos.
That is a good news.  We now know, that iPhoto is working as expected, when you are switching to a different library.
    But this is puzzling:
I then see a box with two Librarys listed, both have the same name except for the following and are listed as:
iPhoto Library.photolibrary but one has (default) after its name which is the one which is always displayed when I load iPhoto.
    Underneath the box is written:
    /Users/paulfkardian/Pictures/iPhoto Library.photolibrary
Underneath this are three boxes titled: Other Library    Create New    Choose
I highlighted the the File without the (default) after its name and clicked on Choose. A Library was loaded which had my photos (about 9,822) from about 7 months ago. Underneath the box is written diferently than the file always loaded and says:
    /Users/paulfkardian/Pictures (original)/iPhoto Library.photolibrary
You are having two "Pictures" folders in your Home folder, Pictures and Pictures (original)? And each has a different iPhoto library - one working correctly, and one not?  Do you remember, when this second "Pictures" folder has been created and what caused it?  Did you restore your Home folder from a backup some time ago?
