Junk arabic details while transfer arabic data from sql server 2000 to orac

We are facing problems to view arabic details in oracle which is transfered from sql server 2000 .
In oracle database we are using charecterset is UTF8.
NLS_CHARACTERSET :UTF8 and NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET:UTF8
Sqlr server collation is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1256_CI_AS.
we are using stored procedure for transfering data from sql server 2000 to oracle.
And i am able to view some arbic details which is not transfered from sql server 2000.
I thing some configuration i need to change in sql server.
Can any one help me out from this issue?

I know that this is not the correct forum to ask this question.
If someone knows this issue please help me.
We were using to import from another intermediate sqlserver and it was successfull.
And more over i cannot change anything in oracle database which is live.
The issue is we are using one intermediate sqlserver for transfering the data to oracle apart from main sqlserver.
now we want to stop the intermediate and need to transfer from main sqlserver to oracle Db.
i guess , i need to change some configuration in main sql server.
Main sql server and intermediate have the same collation.
Could you please help me out from this problem?

  • Loading data from SQL server 2000 to Oracle using OWB 10.2

    Hi All,
I have to move data from SQL server to Oracle using OWB. Any idea how to connect to SQL Server thru the OWB design centre console. There is no detail available in the documentation. OWB cocumentation says that "OWB Integrator for Oracle DB & Apps 3.0" is available to connect to Non-Oracle Database (including Sybase, Informix, ODBC).

    Hi,
yes, you can use ODBC and configure HSODBC on the database server to create a database link to the sql-server. If your oracle server is microsoft based you are ready, otherwise you have to buy an odbc-driver for linux, unix or whatever you use.

  • Problem in Loading Data from SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 10g

    Hi All,
I am a university student and using ODI for my final project on real-time data warehousing. I am trying to load data from MS SQL Server 2000 into Oracle 10g target table. Everything goes fine until I execute the interface for the initial load. When I choose the CKM Oracle(Create unique index on the I$ table) km, the following step fails:
    21 - Integration - Prj_Dim_RegionInterface - Create Unique Index on flow table
Where Prj_Dim_Region is the name of my target table in Oracle.

I am using a surrogate key column in my target table alongwith the natural key. The natural key is populated by the primary key of my source table, but for the surrogate key, I have created a sequence in my oracle schema where the target table exists and have used the following code for mapping:
    <%=snpRef.getObjectName( "L" , "SQ_PRJ_DIM_REGION" , "D" )%>.nextval
I have chosen to execute this code on target.
Among my attempts to solve this problem was to set Create Index option of the CKM Oracle(Create Index for the I$ Table) to No so that it wont create any index on the flow table. I also tried to use the simple CKM Oracle km . Both solutions allowed the interface to execute successfully without any errors, but the data was not loaded into the target table.
When I right-click on the Prj_Dim_Region data store and choose Data, it shows empty. Pressing the SQL button in this data store shows a dialog box " New Query" where I see this query:
    select * from NOVELTYFURNITUREDW.PRJ_DIM_REGION
But when i press OK to run it, I get this error message:

    Hi Cezar,
Can u plz help me with this scenario?
I have one Oracle data model with 19 source tables and one SQL Server data model with 10 target tables. I have created 10 interfaces which use JournalizedDataOnly on one of the tables in the interface; e.g in interface for DimCustomer target table, I have 2 tables, namely Customer and Address, but the journalizing filter appear only on Customer table and this option is disabled for Address automatically.
Now I want to create a package using OdiWaitForLog event detection. Is it possible to put all these 10 interfaces in just one package to populate the target tables? It works fine when I have only one interface and I use the name of one table in the interface for Table Name parameter of OdiWaitForLogData event, but when I try a comma seperated list of table names[Customer, Address] this error happens
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
and if I use this method <%=odiRef.getObjectName("L","model_code","logical_schema","D")%>, I get this error
    "-CDC_SET_NAME=Exception getObjectName("L", "model_code", "logical_schema", "D") : SnpLSchema.getLSchemaByName : SnpLschema does not exist" "
Please let me know how to make it work?
Do I need to create separate data models each including only those tables which appear in their corresponding interface and package? Or do I need to create multiple packages each with only one journalized interface to populate only one target table?
Thank you for your time in advance.
    Regards,
    Neel

    2. Create a initxxx.ora file with HS config.
    restart gateway listener services
    3. on target o/s add entries to your tnsnames.ora
    4. On your target o/s create a db link

  • Reading Data from SQL Server 2000 Linked Servers

    Hello,
I have a colleague who wants to read data from a OO4O driver Linked Server my FRENCH_FRANCE.US7ASCII Oracle 8i database.
He's got some troubles to read data with "é", "à", and so on. They always replaced by "?"
Since I have ask him to use SQL Developer on his server to see if he has got configuration problems, his PL/SQL queries return "square figure" characters (not the usual "²") instead of "?".
For info, I've said it to use CONVERT(column, 'FR8DEC', 'US7ASCII) but it doesn't work too (also try with 'UTF8' or 'WE8MSWIN1252')
Is there a way with the SQL Server collation ???
How can I solve his problem ???

The select query returns the following infos :
    PARAMETER VALUE
    NLS_CHARACTERSET US7ASCII
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET US7ASCII
My colleague uses the 10.2.0.1.0 client with ODAC 10.2.0.2.20.
His SQL Server linked server is 2000 with the SQL_Latin1_General_CP437_BIN (he tried the use of the distant NLS_LANG option and the no set the NLS_LANG too with no results).
    Thanks in advance,

  • Error while reversing data from SQL Server to ODI

    hi,
I was reversing data from SQL Server Java 1.6_022 in ODI Java 1.5, I was getting error Version Mismatch and I updated ODI Java version to 1.6_022.
And now, I am getting the below error while reversing the data from SQL Server database.
    0 : 08001 : java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver
Looking for the assistance on the same.
    Thanks,

If everything is fine the reversing should be fine. I would say check again if the Technology of the Model and the also the dataserver is created under the right Technology in topology too.
also if this doesn't help , Please tell us the steps you have carried so far . Also can you try selective reverse is it showing the tables.

Do you have a good technical reason for not wanting to use the Migration Workbench?
Given that it's free and does a hell of a lot of the work for you, why wouldn't you use it?
Other than that, I would say you would be on your own...

  • Extract the data from SQL Server and Import into Oracle

    Hi,
I would like to run a daily job that will export the table data from SQL server table (it will be only one or two table) and Import back into Oracle table (it might one or two table tables).
Could you please guide me that how can i do this using either sql server or oracle?
We have oracle 9.2 and sql server 2005.
Normally i do from flat file which is generated by source destination nand i dump into oracle using sql*loader but this time I have to directly extract/export the data from MS Sql server and load into Oracle table, mostly it will reload so i might doing any massaging data during the load.
If you show me the detail approach, it will be really appreciated.
I have access to Sql server but i don't how to use sql server to do this or using oracle as a daily job even becuase have to schedule the job for this as it will be a daily job.
    Thanks,

Unless you can find an open source ODBC driver for SQL Server that runs on Solaris (and I wouldn't be overly hopeful there) Heterogeneous Services would require that you license something-- a third party ODBC driver, a new Oracle instance, or an Oracle Transparent Gateway.
As I stated below, you could certainly use SQL Server's ETL tool, DTS. Oracle's ETL tools would require additional licensing since you're just on 9.2. You could also write a small application (Java or otherwise) that connected to both databases and transferred the data. If you're particularly enterprising, you could load the SQL Server Type 4 JDBC driver into Oracle's JVM and write a Java stored procedure that connected to the SQL Server database via JDBC, but that's a pretty convoluted approach.

I have no idea what "Oracle Hetrogenius Services" is, so I can't help you with that, sorry.
SQL Developer might also assist you. SQL Developer can connect to SQL Server as well as Oracle and has some tools for migration. See the documentation for details:

  • How to retrieve nVarchat data from Sql Server DB

How can I retrieve data of NVARCHAR data type from Sql Server 2000.
    Do I have to user ResultSet.getCLOB() or ResultSet.getBLOB() ?
    thx

I have no idea, but you can find out the classname which is mapped by JDBC at the following ways:
// Retrieve mapped class name by metadata.
    ResultSetMetaData metaData = resultSet.getMetaData();
    String className = metaData.getColumnClassName("columnname");
    System.out.println(className); // Prints the mapped class name. I.e. java.sql.Blob or java.sql.Clob
// Or just upcast to object and lookup the instantiated class.
    Object object = resultSet.getObject("columnname");
    String className = object.getClass().getName();
    System.out.println(className); // Prints the mapped class name. I.e. java.sql.Blob or java.sql.Clob

You can do that via Variable.
In the interface mapping create a filter on Tablename.DateTime
and put the condition like this
Tablename.DateTime BETWEEN #VAR and in the variable use this query in refreshing tab with oracle schema
SELECT max(start_time)||' AND '||max(END_TIME)+1 from audit_table where ETL_JOB_CODE = '20'In the package call the above variable in refresh mode and then interface.
This way you will pass from the query between and condition date and pass to interface so that SQL Server fetches the data between those too range.
Note:- You might need to tweak the date format so that SQL Server can understand.
    Hope this helps.
