Junk email issue
Hi, many times users are facing the issue of mails arriving and moving to junk email folder.
Is it okay if we disable the automatic filtering of junk email in outlook ??
Sure, you can do that. You can set it on low or no filtering - you could
disable it completely too.

Messages going to junk email folder
Hi,
We have exchange 2013 deployed and from few days some emails on all users are going to their outlook 2007, 2010 Junk-Email folder.
How can i stop same from Exchange 2013 Server side?
Best Regards, Ranjit SinghIs it happening in OWA also (I assume, YES)
After you tested the Test Mailbox, and if it's working without any issue then try these things.
Run Outlook and SafeMode and check the issue.
Disable the Mailbox and Enable it, Test the issue.
I also saw the same issue with one of my client (Exchange 2010) but it was happening with few users only. Tried several things, MFC MPAI, Deleting folder (Junk). These things didn't helped, had to disable the Mailbox and Assign new Mailbox and Import the
PST into it. They are still monitoring the issue.

How to force Outlook's Junk email fitler to not filter Exchange 2010 SP1 accepted domains?
Hello,
I wonder if there really is no way how to reach the result described in the title question. Because
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2458522 says:
This issue occurs because of a functionality change that is introduced in Exchange Server 2010 SP1. In Exchange Server 2010 SP1, domains that are configured as accepted domains are no longer allowed in the junk email lists of a mailbox.
So please tell us Microsoft how can we force Outlook to accept internal domain as a trusted senders and not apply Junk email filter on it?
There was already a long discussion about the steps here
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/thread/15f857c6-0ed4-4004-9d90-cb5d16361752 so please don't offer anything described there.
Thank you,Trying to deal with the Outlook Junk Email Filter is not very easy and had been a pain in the butt.
The ONLY way to ensure the Outlook 2010 Junk Email filter honors "white listed" emails is to stamp the email with SCL -1. Setting a transport rule will do that but it is not very flexible.
I was able to resolve these issues by simply enabling the Exchange 2010 Anti-Spam agents on each hub transport server. We have no Edge Server but we use a couple of Ironports at the gateway which provide the bulk of AntiSpam. We didn't think we would
need the Exchange AntiSpam so we hadn't initially enabled. After months of trying to resolve people's complaints of emails from internal system ending up in Junk, this solution worked for us.
This is the order in which it was done.
1. We set the receive connectors for the internal systems for bypassing Anti Spam. We basically have 2 receive connectors, one for internal system with no relay, and one for internal systems who are allowed external relay.
Get-ReceiveConnector "server\name of the recieve connector" | Add-ADPermission -User "“NT Authority\Anonymous Logon” -AccessRights ExtendedRight
-ExtendedRights ms-exch-bypass-anti-spam
Note: If you use SMTP Authentication, Exchange will only mark the emails as "Internal" and not assign a SCL of -1. It can only be on anonymous connections.
Note: We have a separate receive connector for the Ironports delivering external email that will not bypass Anti-Spam. These emails will receive a SCL rating of 0-9
2. We set the global SCL to 6 (default is 4). You can set it to whatever you want.
Set-OrganizationConfig -SCLJunkThreshold 6
So basically, any email tagged with SCL 7-9 will be moved to Junk by Exchange.
3. Set-ContentFilterConfig -SCLQuarantineEnabled $False -SCLDeleteEnabled $False -SCLRejectEnabled $False
We don't want delete, reject or quarantine anything on Exchange. Just move email to Junk folder if SCL 7-9 and have user deal with it.
4. Set the Internal SMTP Servers by adding each Exchange server's IP Address to the Global Transport Settings. I used EMC, Organization Config, Global Settings, Transport Settings properties, Message Delivery tab. Do NOT add any other "internal" servers
here, only the Exchange servers.
5. Then we installed the AS agents on each HT Server.
Starting with the first server
Stop MSExchange Transport service
D:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Scripts>.\install-AntispamAgents.ps1
After installation, disable all the agents except for Content Filtering Agent. This agent has to be enabled for Exchange to stamp the email with SCL -1. I used EMC, Organization Config, Hub Transport. You will see a new tab called Anti-Spam. Disable everything
except Content Filtering.
Start MSExchange Transport service.
Repeat on each HT server. (You won't have to repeat the disabling of the agents as that is a global setting)
6. You can add global safe senders by doing the following.
$list = (Get-ContentFilterConfig).BypassedSenders
$list
$list.add("[email protected]")
$list.add("[email protected]")
Set-ContentFilterConfig -BypassedSenders $list
The message headers are stamped with
For emails sent through the Internal connector
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-Antispam-Report: MessageSecurityAntispamBypass
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: -1
OR
For external emails from a safe sender
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-Antispam-Report: ContentFilterConfigBypassedSender
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: -1
OR
For all other external emails
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-SCL: 0
Good Luck. This has basically stopped all the calls about "legitimate" email in Junk Email folder. -
Hi All,
Need your expert advice and help !
Incoming e-mail has been successfully configured and working fine on SharePoint 2010.
Issue: Badmail folder is getting flooded with millions of junk emails. First Queue folder gets them, and then moves them to Badmail folder. Incoming Email has been successfully configured for SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint list is receiving the emails (there
is a delay, but that is fine!)
Please help. what other information should i provide to help understand this issue better ?
Naveed.DG MCITP, MCTS -SharePoint 2010 Administrator "Vote As Helpful" If it helps!!What Reverse DNS Lookup does is attempt to validate that the piece of mail came from an IP that belongs to the domain in the EHLO/HELO command - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/233c0fde-7315-479a-a7fb-2e9d00ff73fd.mspx?mfr=true
So it doesn't directly filter spam (certainly possible to get spam from GMail/Hotmail servers that Reverse DNS Lookup will see as 'valid').

Junk email rule causing problems with mailbox restore
Running the command new-restoremailboxrequest on Exchange 2010 SP1. The restore fails and the following event is logged which seems to indicate a conflict with the Junk Email rule. I've tried disabling junk email by using set-mailboxjunkemailconfiguration

Microsoft Outlook Exchange / Canon Multi function Printer Email Issue
Hi there
A client of ours has been experiencing strange issues with one particular email address on their Microsoft Outlook Exchange Server and a Canon Imagerunner 1133if
The Canon scanning feature has been registered with all the computers and email addresses on their network. Whenever one of the employees scan a page to their email address, the email is sent and received with no problem whatsoever via Outlook 2010 Exchange,
running from the exchange server.
Only one email address on their exchange server doesn't receive any of the scans sent to it, even if it did sent successfully??
1. The email has been set-up correctly on the Canon and Exchange server (The email address syncs new emails and sends them without any hassle, but scanning to the said email, for eg. [email protected], won't show up in their inbox).
Note: We have checked the email on the canon printer and it has been registered correctly.
2. We have whitelisted ([email protected]) the email on the client's computer, made sure it's not a blocked sender in junk email, checked the exchange email tracking logs, and everything checks out, according to the log the email has been sent successfully,
but for some reason, the email doesn't receive on his personal exchange inbox...all other emails sent to this inbox receives perfectly.
Neither the Canon Printer techs, nor we, can find the issue. If anyone has experienced this particular problem, with this particular printer or setup, please respond, it will be MUCH appreciated.
Kind regardsI've heard many cases that user unable to scan to Email from Canon Scanner/Printer via Exchange Server. However, in this case, only one email address doesn't receive the scan items from the device, it seems to be none of business of IP/SMTP Port/DNS
or network else, I mean the server site due to the other user is ok. This following factors might be the root:
1. Email address itself. If necessary, please type the exact address through Canon Imagerunner 1133if and send one thing to the target email address to check the result.
2. Permission. Check and enable the Anonymous Group on Receive Connector somewhere.
3. The user's client. Disable all of security application in that user's computer, or logon this account in another machine to test the behavior.
If none of steps above works, please create a new user in AD and then check everything is fine for a new createing user account. Thanks.

Junk email addresses appearing in address book
For some reason I have tons of junk email addresses appearing in my Mail address -- I have no idea how they got there. Here are just two examples, there are hundreds:
Alexis Eldridge
[email protected]
or
Gallo Poole
[email protected]
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent it? Thanks!Well, yes, maybe. I'm a little paranoid -- I download in the regular user account, scan with clamxav, drop the scanned download into the admin dropbox, fast-user-switch to the admin account, move the download to an "installers" folder that I maintain, and install from the admin account. Log out and back in to the standard account. I guess, yeah, if you are doing forty separate software updates and upgrades every day, a process like mine is a little problematic. On the other hand, the Applications folder isn't writeable from a standard user account without authenticating as an administratively privileged user and I just don't do that.
Actually, that may not quite be true. Although I don't operate that way, you could probably install from the standard user account by authenticating the installer as an admin user from within the standard user account. That kind of defeats the purpose, anyways, if the standard user account has been compromised by a hidden applescript keystroke logger or something, if such thing were to exist.
Having a separate administrator and standard user account are a trade-off that you have to decide upon: are the added safety and security practices worth a loss of user experience convenience? Once you figure out, if you are able to figure out, how your Address Book started getting loaded up with rogue email addresses, you might be better able to make that determination for your own situation. Page 33 of the snow leopard security guide (http://images.apple.com/support/security/guides/docs/SnowLeopardSecurity_Configv10.6.pdf) recommends having separate administrator and daily use accounts. But, in the end, that's your call. The guide tells you how to lock your computer down so tightly that it's almost worthless.
With regards to anti-malware, your best bet is to see what respected sites like macworld and others have to say, and just do some google searches. I'm in no position to make a recommendation. With clamxav, which is what I use, the price is right but I can't say how proactive a freeware/donationware anti-malware entity might be when that new occasional Mac malware comes out.
While I have suggested you performing an anti-MacMalware scan, that may or may not resolve your issue, and offer up some thoughts on future operating practices that really don't help you now, I can only wish you good luck on solving your AddressBook problem. Please post back when you do, I'm sure everyone here would like to be made aware of what and how it happened, and what they can do to do to prevent it. -

The hybrid format email is considered as a junk email (or spam)in Apple Mail 4.4
In Mac OSX 10.6.6, When I use Apple Mail 4.4 to receive the hybrid format email( include HTML and Text format in one email), the Apple Mail 4.4 will be think this email is a junk email.
Is this a bug for the Mail 4.4? Anybody can help to resolve this issue?
FYI, The following is my JAVA code for how to send a hybrid format email:
msg.setSubject("test");//set subject
MimeBodyPart mbp1 = new MimeBodyPart();
mbp1.setContent("test", "text/plain; charset=utf-8");//set text format content
MimeBodyPart mbp2 = new MimeBodyPart();
mbp2.setContent("test", "text/html; charset=utf-8");//set HTML format content
Multipart mp = new MimeMultipart("alternative");
mp.addBodyPart(mbp1);//add text content
mp.addBodyPart(mbp2);//add HTML content
msg.setContent(mp);
Transport.send(msg);//send emailSorry to be slow to respond -- had a doctor appointment, and also had to hunt up a boot volume with 10.6.6 and Mail 4.4 on it, just to be sure.
Your test message was not perceived as SPAM/Junk at all. Not when received in Mail 4.5, Mail 4.4, nor Mail 2.1.3 in Tiger.

Cannot move junk email to Bulk Mail folder in Yahoo, greyed out
I've searched but so far no luck. Ever since I added my two Yahoo email accounts on my iPhone 4, I cannot seem to send junk email from my inbox to my Bulk Mail folder, it is greyed out. First off, I've confirmed that the Bulk Mail folder on my iPhone is the same as my Spam folder in Yahoo mail on the desktop. I can see the same emails in both folders. Anyone have the same experience and found a way to correct this, or is this just a Yahoo limitation?
I am having the same problem, but I'm not very clear on how to follow the steps.
went to my yahoo account in IOS;
hit edit, hit "new mailbox" at the bottom right corner of the screen;
entered a name;
below that, it has "Mailbox Location", I opened it;
it list all my personal folders, I am stuck here.
How do I "point the mailbox location to the Bulk Mail folder", as instructed? Am I missing a step?
This is for iPhone 4S, with the latest released version. Thank you! -

How do I delete mass junk emails?
It seems to me that when I recieve a large quantity of junk emails to my Outlook via my Iphone 5 I shouldn't have to individually mark each one before I can trash them. I should be able to select all and then unmark the ones I want to save.
The guys at the Apple store say there's no way around it, why is that?
They told me to open the emails and scroll to the bottom and unsubscribe! I would be there for years! After a long weekend I could have 800 junk emails. I have had my IT guy set stricter softwate to my Outlook but then some of my customers get bounced out. Any Ideas????5930 Lakeshore wrote:

Because Apple hasn't included that feature. That's why. -
A way to trash junk email without opening/clicking it?
I have lots of junk emails every day on my Mail application.
I do not want to open the junk emails before trash them.
Is there a way to do it?
Thanks in advance!If you right click (control click) on the junk mailbox you should get a menu with "erase junk mail" as an option. It will clean out the whole folder so you might want to check that's it's all really junk.

Best Practices for disabling OWA Junk Email filter org wide
Users created in Exchange Online appear to have the following attributes set by default
set-mailboxjunkemailconfiguration "identity" -enabled $true
Like most organizations we have a more robust filtering solution and the OWA and Outlook implementations of junk email filtering leave a lot to be desired. Is there a good solution to remove that setting organization wide, and not have to repeat this with
onboarding new users?
Obviously Powershell could be utilized with a Get-Mailbox | Set-MailboxJunkEmailConfiguration command, but I'd like to not have to repeat thisYou can use something called as a cmdline extention agents to get this working on newly created mailboxes.
That will execute a set of commandlets when you run new-mailbox or enable-mailbox and it succeeds.
Even if you run this from the Exchange server GUI, it in the background runs either of the above commands depending on whether you are creating a new user also along with mailbox or if you are associating a mailbox with an already existing user.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/fun_with_powershell/archive/2014/04/17/cmdletextension-and-its-magic.aspx
This is one of the example of performing a different action when you have new-mailbox or enable-mailbox.
You can modify this script.
