Junk mail on the ipad

is their a way to designate some mail as junk and teach the ipad so possibly in the future it will not appear.  thanks joanlvh

I have emails coming in from two services. BTinternet.com has an effective automatic filter, so does my iMAC. but when mail arrives from MobileMe it does not appear to be filtered. How do I get the host server to weed out junk?
advice welcomed,
Mike

  • Cannot delete item from junk mail folder in iPad?

Some items cannot be deleted from junk mail folder on iPad 2. It will not move to trash.

Have you tried swiping across the message in the preview pane when you open the junk folder instead of opening the email and trying to use the trash can icon?
If that will not work either, try rebooting your iPad and then see if you can delete the junk mail.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • I get junk mail on my iPad that states "this message has no content".  If I click on it my mail freezes up and after some time my mail program works again.  I use a .mac address.  Anyone have similar issues?

I get junk mail on my iPad that states "this message has no content". If I try to delete it or click on it my .mac mail freezes up and it takes some time for my mail program to continue.  Has anyone else had this issue?  Ideas for resolution?

Yeah, I've seen it from iOS 7 to the present. It appears to be a network issue, as the Mail app is trying to grab the information to display the first few lines in the abbreviated display. I haven't had mine freeze though. When I click on it, it will simply show a blank message. Now I can quit the app and later reload the app, and "sometimes" the contents come back right away. In other instances, not right away, but eventually.
You might try quitting all the apps, then going to the Settings app to Reset and reset your Network Settings. The iPad will reboot. Try it again after that.

  • How can i get my junk mail on my ipad?

How can i get my junk mail on my ipad ? I only receive regulare e-mail on my ipad. Offten regular mail is placed into junk mail.

With an IMAP account along with storing the account's junk mailbox on the server with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account.
All server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account will be available automatically when accessing the account with the iPad's Mail app along with all server stored mailboxes kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account. You will also be able to transfer a legit message from the account's junk mailbox to the account's Inbox mailbox.
None of this is possible with a POP account.

How best to screen junk mail in the mail application?

With the Mail program running, select Preferences from the Mail menu and then select the Junk Mail tab. Turn it on. This is a decent junk mail filter and fills the needs of many people. If you find too much junk mail still making its way into your in basket, there's a third party program called SpamSieve that takes filtering to another level.

  • Can I create folders in Mail in the iPad?

Can I create folders in Mail in the iPad?

If you're fortunate enough to have an ISP that also has mail via Microsoft Exchange, you can kill the original account and re-create it as an Microsoft Exchange account. That will bring whatever folders you have set up in the mail's webmail app across to your iPad.
The only downside is that you can only have one Exchange account, so if you already have one set up, you're stuck. But Frontier has my Internet business, so I was able to set up my second account via Exchange.  It's not perfect, but it works.
It's a way to get by until they figure out that POP limitation... :-)

  • Junk mail since using iPad

Since using an iPad I am receiving more and more junk mail.  I have tried to add to Blocked Senders but I still receive them.  Anyone else suffered from this?

The Mail app on the iPad does not have any junk filtering capabilities. You'd need to log into your email account through your email provider's web page and see what type of filtering they offer on their side.

  • Mail does not move Junk mail to the Junk mailbox.

I use  OS X 10.9.3, Mail Version 7.3 (1878.2) and have created the rule that if Message is Junk, Move it to the Junk mailbox, but it does not work. Junk messages remain in the Inbox, even after I select messages and Apply rules. I have tried marking and unmarking as Junk, and then they disappear, but this is obviously not a sustainable longterm solution. Any other suggestions?

  • Can I add folders to mail on the iPAD?

Just loaded 4.2.1 on my ipad. The mail only has in,sent and trash boxes. Can I add other boxes or folders to be able to sort my mail as I do on my mac.

I do not think so. You could not with iOS 3.2.2 and I do not think that changed and can't find any way to do it in the revised Users Guide. However, if it is an IMAP account a lot of times if the folder exist on another computer or webmail they will appear on the iPad. That is not true for an POP3 account.

  • ATT e-mail on the iPad 3

On the first iPad I had the ability to set up folders in mail for my AT&T email (i.e. [email protected]).  I now have an iPad 3 and when I migrated my information continued to have the folders.  Then I had an issue which I mistakenly tried to correct by deleting and setting up my mail again.  When I did this I lost the ability to set up folders in my email.  I've read that you cannot set up folders for POP accounts, but don't understand why I previously could add folders.
Any ideas?   If there is not a method to create folders, this is a serous shortcoming for the iPad.
    Thank you.

If memory serves me, the ability to create folders in mail didn't happen until iOS 5.  Original iPad didn't come with iOS 5.  The folders you had must have been created on your home computer, then when set up on iPad, were viewable.  Since I don't have AT&T mail, the best suggestion I can offer is to contact AT&T directly and ask them how to set up mail as exchange on iPad.

  • Mail on the iPad

Today on my iPad I tried to respond to an e-mail. After clicking send, this message appeared:
"A copy of this has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message has failed because you exceeded your sending limit."
This has never happened before. In the iPad settings I deleted all sent messages. In iCloud settings I see no control for resetting my sending limit. How do I correct or adjust my sending limit?

Maybe your email is hacked and used for spamming.
