Junk mail still pushing to iPhone 4s

I have turned off junk mail push for my hotmail account on my iPhone 4s but am still getting every junk mail in the folder pushed to my phone, anyone know how to fix that?

Yes it is.
When you select an account's Inbox mailbox, the account is checked for new email.
All server stored mailboxes with an IMAP and Exchange account are kept synchronized with the server.

  • TS4002 How can I change iCloud junk mail settings from my iPhone?

I have junk mail filtering turned on in iCloud. If it incorrectly tags mail as junk it is easy to correct using the web interface but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it from iPhone. How can you mark mail as junk / not junk from iOS? Matters are made worse in that it is not even possible to access the web app from an iOS device?

Yes! Fine if you have a computer and of course that's exactly what I do. But it is a bit frustrating! iOS and iCloud are supposed to be seamlessly integrated and this seems like a big omission. And with the push towards iOS devices being completely independent devices, unhooked from a computer, this seems like something that should be improved upon. Seems minor, but if you use your iOS device as your primary email client it is a real hassle. I'd be surprised if nobody else is frustrated by this. Anyone? How do you go about nagging Apple to sort it out?

  • Junk mail still loading images

Hi -- I've set my Mail program to NOT display remote images, and Junk Mail filtering is on, but if I click on a message marked as "Junk" it still loads up the image! Doesn't this kind of defeat the security involved in marking a message junk? Loading the remote image now tells the spammer that my email address is valid and I am clicking on their messages! How do I tell Mail to stop it? This makes me wary of even trying to check if a message is spam or not in fear of accidentally transmitting my existence to the spammer...

    Hi geefunk3.
it still loads up the image!
What image? The setting is just to prevent Mail from loading remote images. There is no harm in Mail displaying images sent as attachments with the message. Only images that require connecting to a remote server to display them are an issue -- see How HTML Email Messages Relate to Unsolicited Commercial Email ("spam").

  • Google Mail not pushing on iPhone 4

    Hello everyone,
I got my iPhone 4 last weekend and been setting it up since. Everything works just fine now, except for the push mail. I'm using a Google Mail Account that collects from my actual mail account because GMX does not provide free pushing. I've used this setup for half a year on my Windows Mobile phone, and it has always worked just fine, incoming mails were pushed within 10 seconds max.
But now I have to go into my inbox to get mails downloaded to my iPhone. I created the mail account on my iPhone using Add Account... - Google Mail. Fetch New Data" is set to "Push", and I don't see anything else I can about this in my iPhone settings.
Am I missing something or is this just not working on iPhone?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Nate

  • A Fix for mail not pushing after iPhone upgrade.

Here is the fix. Keep in mind that I'm a Mac, if you're a PC you will need to read between the lines a bit. .But this did fix the Push issue. What you need to do is a Restore, but when the dialog box asks if you would like to apply the Back Up iTunes has, that back up needs to not have any of your mail settings. Here you go:
    1) plug the phone into your mac and sync with iTunes.
    2) eject & unplug the iphone
    3) on the phone go to settings>mail, contact, calendar>select your mail accounts and delete them. When the "keep on iPhone" question appears choose <delete from my iPhone>.
    4) Reboot the iPhone.
    5) Now plug your "Mail-less" iPhone into your mac (if it starts to sync- cancel it..you just did a sync).
    6) Hold down the Control key while you click on your IPhone under Devices in iTunes. From the menu that appears select "Back Up"
This creates a back up of your iPhone without any trace of your Mail settings.
    7) Click Restore in the Summary Tab in iTunes. When the restore is finished it asks if you would like to restore from a back up. You bet you would.
    8) After all the smoke clears ( it transfers your stuff over and restarts a few times) grab your mail-less iPhone and set up your mail account as if your phone was right off the shelf.
FIXED..so long as you remembered to turn Push notifications on

Fantastic! Worked a treat - thanks!

  • Junk mail arrives in iPhone 5s mail app but not MBP mail app

This is a strange observation and I am wondering if others have experienced this...
My iPhone is a 5s running iOS v7.1.  When I access my email accounts via my iPhone each day, I am greeted with a slew of junk mail on a daily basis (typically Monday thru Friday).  Not a new thing right?  However, when I access those same email accounts from my MacBook Pro I never receive any junk mail (typically Saturday and Sunday).  In fact, junk mail never even appears in my Junk folder on the MBP.  Now, during the week when I do receive the junk mail on my iPhone, I wait until I return home and open the mail app on my MBP whereupon all of the junk mail received on my iPhone NOW shows up in Mail on my MBP THEN automatically moves into the junk folder.  So, my suspicion is that spammers have now determined how to identify mail access between devices (iPhone vs. MBP).  I am guessing they may be capitalizing the the inability of the iPhone mail app to filter junk mail.
Am I imagining this or has anyone else experienced this scenario?  Many thanks.

    Hello rayalamx
If the Mail app is not opening, then I would remove the email accounts. Open mail to see if that resolves the issue and then start adding the accounts back in.

  • Junk mail on iPhone 4s

Is there a way that I can access my iCloud junk mail folder on my iPhone 4s ?  There is a very important email that I suspect has gone into the junk folder. I don't have access to a pc.
    Thanks in advance.

If you set up your iCloud mail account on the phone, From the inbox, tap the upper right to go to your mailboxes, scroll down to the accounts section, select the icloud account, then select the junk folder...

I'm only receiving junk mail on my new iPhone. Regular mail goes into my Outlook account on my PC and junk mail is bypassed into the junk mail folder as normal. Also on the sync, I am getting no existing Outlook messages. Is there any way to view messages held on my Outlook program on my PC on the iPhone?

  • Mail keeps marking as junk mail in Mavericks

    Hello all,
I'm having an ongoing issue with my Mail app in Mavericks 10.9.1 in that it keeps sending an incoming email from a particular sender to my Trash box even though I have it marked as not Junk mail and I've added the senders email address to my Contacts. It even shows up in Junk mail still marked as not Junk mail? Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it? Thanks.

Having the same issue here. Some of my emails are going to the junk mail folder without being marked as junk. I tried resetting the junk filter and that did not help. In fact, I recently upgraded to a new iMac and purposefully did not use the migration assistant, but the problem has followed me to the new computer.
It seems to be linked to specific email addresses. Mint.com, YouTube, Twitter, and a few other corporate accounts all have 100% of their emails go to my junk folder without being marked as junk. This is despite the fact that my junk filter in mail is currently set on training mode and shouldn't be sending anything to the Junk folder.
Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

  • How best to screen junk mail in the mail application?

How best to screen junk mail in the mail application?

With the Mail program running, select Preferences from the Mail menu and then select the Junk Mail tab. Turn it on. This is a decent junk mail filter and fills the needs of many people. If you find too much junk mail still making its way into your in basket, there's a third party program called SpamSieve that takes filtering to another level.

  • Junk mail filtering in server 10.8- does it even work?

I would like to use the junk mail filtering settings in server 10.8 but when I enable them with the slider left, right and middle and mail to myself  it doesn't go through, or is delayed so long as make the filtering pointless. My conversation with Apple support is that that feature does not currently work. Is that true or what is going on that a benign email is getting hung up or not going through?

In Mail/Preferences/Junk Mail, I have checked the boxes:
    - Enable junk mail filtering
    - Move it to the junk mailbox
    - Exempt: Sender of message is in my Contacts
    - Trust junk mail headers in messages
    - Filter junk mail before applying my rules.
I have reset the junk mail preferences and have marked many junk mail messages in the inbox and manually sent them to the junk mailbox.
Junk mail still comes to my inbox.  None of it goes automatically to the junk mail box.
    What more can I do?

  • Loosing Junk Mail on the Junk Mail Screen

Starting a couple of weeks ago my Junk Mailbox has been accumulating items as it normally does, but when I then click on Junk Mail the screen shows no items at all.
Yet each day the number of items accumulating in my Junk Mailbox increases in number. Why can't I see the items that are in the Junk Mailbox?

I have had the same problem, junk mail message are not showing in the list window even though it says there are over 3000. I have tried many different ways to delete them.
The only "solution" I can find is to set the Junk mail to be put into trash (in Preferences -> Junk Mail -> Perform custom actions -> Advanced), but there are 3000 old junk mails still sitting there in the Junk folder. Is there some way to delete the Junk folder and start again?

  • ICloud push notifications plus junk mail

Ever since I changed to iCloud email, my push notifications aren't alerting me of new incoming mail.  I have set it for sound option and nothing is working.
My "junk" mail also is saying I ahve junk mail when really it's not junk mail.  I've tried flitering and teaching what's junk and what's not but it too isn't working.
    Help..,anyone ?

    bump!
i have the same problem on my iphone 4S.
mails gets correctly put in the subfolder i assigned but i dont get any badge notification so hours may pass before i realize i have a new mail in my "very urgent stuff" subfolder! which is quite bad
would love to know if there's a workaround, it's a known issue or i should just disable the rules for a while and moving the mails manually.
notice the rules are applied on the icloud webmail app, but not on my desktop mac

  • HT1694 Why is it when I delete my junk mail on my pc they don't disappear on my iPad or iPhone. As well when I put a file in a folder it doesn't go in the folder on other devices. Why is it that u have to delete junk mail one at a time. Very annoying

Why does my junk mail delete on pc but not on iPad or iPhone  why do I have to delete each one seperately on these devices and why do my files go into folders on the pc and don't appear on iPad or iPhone

Not too sure about the last part of your post but you have to manage your emails on each device if you are using a Pop3 account. It is only IMAP which provides for synchronisation across all devices. If you are not familiar with this then Google IMAP AND POP3 for more information.
