Junk Mail won't move to Junk folder after training+switching to automatic

After training for months, I switched my preferences to automatic and now my existing junk mail doesn't move to the junk folder.
Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Same problem here - also using an IMAP account. Junk mail is labeled correctly but does not move automatically to the junk folder even though the option to do that is enabled in preferences.

Try resetting the Junk Mail filter. This will start it on a new learning curve. Mail/Preferences/Junk Mail.

Classified junk mail intermittently not moving to junk folder

Hello,
I am running Thunderbird 31.3.0 and all of a sudden the junk mail (which is classified and marked) is not being moved to the junk mail folder intermittently on some of the IMAP accounts setup on Thunderbird.
Again, this problem only intermittently occurs but it seems to happen on the same couple of email accounts. The junk mail is marked and stays in the inbox but does not automatically move to the junk folder. If I unmark one in the inbox and remark it - it moves automatically. if I restart Thunderbird, all newly received junk moves as expected for a time until the problem intermittently start occurring again.

Apple Mail - all mail in Junk Mail is categorized as "not junk"

My Junk Mail stopped working properly on Christmas Eve. The problems that are occurring since then are:
1. Most junk mail is correctly sent to the Junk Mail folder, but so too are some (about one in ten) e-mails that are not junk. Those one in ten are already classified as "Not Junk" so I can't help the system to learn by reclassifying them as junk
2. All e-mails in the Junk Mail folder have the standard blue ball icon and none have the junk mail icon
3. All the e-mails in the Junk Mail folder are classified as "Not Junk"
4. When I reclassify the items in the junk mail folder as junk, the blue ball icon does not change to the junk mail icon.
Are these four separate problems or part of one problem?
Any help with one or all of them would be much appreciated.

What I'm saying is that originally Junk Mail that I received went directly into the Junk Mail Folder.
Now all previously marked Junk Mail comes and stays in my In Box.
Nothing is going to the Junk Mail folder on it's own like it did a few days agao.
I'm not using anything except Thunderbird.

Junk Mail: applying custom rules disables junk database

Using default settings my junk mail filter works most of the time. But there are several persistent streams of spam that never get recognized as junk, and custom rules would identify them easily. But everytime I try, suddenly all the other junk that was being flagged comes through to my in box. I've selected "Trust junk mail headers in messages" and "Filter junk mail before applying my rules" but it has no effect.
Also, the minute I add custom rules, "Erase Junk Mail" greys out and cannot be selected anymore. I have to first send my junk box to trash, then erase my trash.
I've read the help files and they don't address this at all. (Same problem in 10.6)

Don't have 3.0 on my computer but go to the Mail menu and choose Preferences.
The click on Junk Mail then on Advanced and see what color is chosen in the setting and the conditions under which it is set.

I have a brown coloured email which has been accurately diagnosed as junk mail, but when I go to Messages>flag>...the only two options I have are "not junk mail" and "mark as unread" yet in the help support it says that it should have "junk mail" there too. Have you studied Mail prefernces? If not, go to Mail > preferences > Junk mail and check out the options there. Alternately, click on the 'info' question mark and follow up anything you are currently unsure of.

You can't, so mark it as Junk.

Junk Mail icon turns to "NOT junk mail" when dragged to toolbar

Okay, maybe I'm missing something here. I get a piece of mail that Mail thinks is junk. I'm supposed to be able to select the message, and click on the "mark as junk" icon, or go to the menu and do Mark Message as Junk. Well, neither of those options exist. Within the menu, I can only Mark Message as Not Junk. When I try to drag the Junk icon from the toolbar options to the toolbar, it turns into a Not Junk icon on the way. Wierd.

This sounds like Mail already thinks that the message is Junk. The switches are automatic, and will swap between Junk/Not Junk depending on which the message is.

Junk Mail no longer goes to junk folder

I am getting mail labeled as Junk in my inbox (it is clearly spam). It used to go directly to my Junk folder, but now is staying in the inbox. (I think it started after going to 10.5.6)
I check preferences, and the box is check to sent it to the junk folder.
How can I get these junk emails not to show up in my Inbox?

do you have your iphone set to recent? You should be able to have all 8 accounts sent to your mail on your mac. You could also set your emails to foward to other accounts.

When I try to move a message (from the inbox, for example) into one of my yahoo Mail folders, I get this message:_"Unable to Move Message."_
Is this happening to you? Is there a solution??

Have you tried deleting the Yahoo account and readding it? Was it working earlier(with the update)? I know Yahoo has been very up and down with various things so possibly there might be a server related problem if it just started.
You could also possibly try to reset the network settings and then try to move the messages.

How can I disable sorting in a folder? When mail arrived or move to a folder, I want that mail to show on top.

This is mainly for my trash folder. Sometime when I accidentally deleted an email, going back to the trash folder to looking for it gives me headache. If it is on top, I know where to find it. Thanks.

So you want the last thing that you placed in the trash to be on top no matter how new or old the message is? I am not sure how this could be done. Every window sorts on something. Maybe someone else will have a work around.
If you notice right away you can select Edit-Undo from the menu bar or use the shortcut control+z. This will undo the last action. If you do something else before you notice it then this does not work.

Mail won't import messages to inbox after envelope file moved to desktop

I had some kind of problem with a HD backup that cause my mac pro quad to lapse into beach ball mode. I had to restart and found my mail app had problems. All messages in other mailboxes are ok, sent items are ok, but inbox has lost messages. The messages are viewable from pop mailbox folder (in library). I moved envelope file to desktop and tried importing messages, but received a sql error notification and only very old message appeared. I backed up my mail folder before this procedure, and I have a copy of the same account on my laptop. So I have the messages, but can't seem to get them back into the mail program on the mac pro (running latest version of 10.4 osx).thx ra

Footer won't move up the page after deleting a number of elements

I'm using a template in Muse and I deleted a bunch of elements that I won't use on one of the pages . But the page footer doesn't move up to close the gap. The footer element on the master page appears normal, but the document page has a long expanse of nothing to scroll down before the footer becomes visible. Can't find anything preventing the footer from moving up. Any ideas out there?

Yes, there were hard to see elements that were preventing the footer from advancing up the page to the end of the visible content. I more easily found them in the assets panel and deleted them there.

ITunes won't download to specific folder after iphone name change in iTunes

I accidently changed the name of my iphone on iTunes. I have changed it back to what it used to be named. But, now when I download a song from iTunes on my phone. It will not download it to the specific folder it used to. Now it downloads it to a specific folder called "Purchased on iPad". Songs will stay there until I sync my phone to iTunes on my computer and I click "Transfer purchases". Then it takes them and places them on "Purchansed" tab. After I finish transfering perchases I disconnect my phone and I have to go back into itunes and go to purchased tab and have to redownload them again which go again into "purchased on iPad" folder on my phone and stay there until I sync my phone again to iTunes... its a vicious cycle and driving me nuts. Is there any way to have it downlaod again to my specific folder "purchased on iphone" and keep them there? Hope someone can help.

I actually tried with two other iPod software cds, uninstalling and reinstalling, and nothing is working.
When I go into the library and look for an import button none is to be found!!!
