Junos Pulse for Playbook and 9850

I see that all BB smart phones except the Torch 9850 and the Playbook can access Junos Pulse.  I have become a developer and have coverted android apps and installed multiple applications but am unable to do so for Junos Pulse.  I am a physician who does not want to use our hospitals bulky Ipad and there is no mouse in the attached bluetooth keyboard.  I love my Playbook and the OEM keyboard.  Please, please, please, configure Junos Pulse for Playbook and the Torch.  It is essential to have at least the tablet in our healthcare environment.

For your request you need to contact the developer to have the app ported to the playbook.

  • Unicode for Playbook

    Hi,
How can I view Unicode Fonts on my Playbook V2.0?
    Regards,
    -Pankaj

Whether Unicode is displayed correctly depends very much on the app, not so much on the PlayBook OS. While the OS and the on-screen keyboard may not support all languages & locales, apps can support whatever fonts they like.

  • Autodesk Sketchbook pro and football manager 2012 for playbook

I love the playbook and it's features, but it pains me that app world doesn't have key applications to me. I tried improvising with other drawing and soccer apps but it was a disaster. Can RIM get developers for these important apps, both androids and ipad have them. I am getting jealous of their users already.

    Hi
To be honest there are no many options to make the notebook faster
But I see that your notebook uses ONLY 512MB of RAM.
In my opinion this is definitely not enough and a upgrade to 1GB or 2GB would be definitely advisable.
Therefore I recommend upgrading the RAM.

  • Citrix goto webinar and cisco webex no support for playbook

    http://support.citrixonline.com/en_US/gotowebinar/all_files/GTW010004
As business tablet rim should get support for these 2 important business application

ofcourse it should come from product vendor, either citrix or cisco, but RIM has to put some effort to bring these apps to their platform. People have been crying for webex and skype for past one year but no luck yet. Webex is a widely used apps for meeting and remote support and its pathetic that RIM is waiting for someone to develop an app someday. That strategy is idiotic and so playbook is a great failure.

  • Junos Pulse 4.0 not working in Windows 8.1

    Hi,
anyone got a Junos Pulse 4.0 release version working on 8.1? After the upgrade from 8 to 8.1 both my Cisco VPN client and Junos Pulse client stopped working because of resp. a yellow triangle for the Deterministic Network Enhancer and the Juniper Miniport
WAN driver. Via the Citrix page I updated the DNE and this solves the problem for the Citrix VPN client, but this Juniper Miniport WAN driver problem remains and actually totally destroys the network stack. It adds the faulty driver to all NICs making them
    unuseable.
JP4 is not officially supported for 8.1 until release 4.0R7, however release 4.0R6 should take care of the most critical probleems. But the problem with the drivers existed from release 4.0R3.
I've tried removing drivers, registry entries, software and reinstalling many times but unsuccessful thusfar.
    Much obliged
    Marcel
PS version 4.0R7 won't be available until december.

    Hi ctaggart,
thanks for the follow up. From the Supported Platforms Guide (http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/software/pulse/releasenotes/j-pulse-5.0r1-supportedplatforms.pdf)
I do get the impression the 32bit Windows 8.1 is not fully supported. For some reason IE11 (standard in 8.1) is not on the supported browser list for 32bit, only for 64... A bit odd but maybe not relevant in my case.
But, I've received the 5.0R1 version (32bit) and installed it (created a restore point to be safe).
First try: immediately a blue screen of death when installing the drivers.
Second try; the software installed successfully but unfortunately the thick Junos client still is unable to secure the connection. The Juniper Networks Virtual Adapter (still) cannot be loaded. I verified the version of the driver: jnprva.sys which seems
to be the same as earlier releases: 5.40.0.27939.
The Junos Log files do not really help.
When I look at the Device Manager I still see that annoying 'Juniper Network Agent Miniport' appear behind each network adapter. But at least the warning sign for that thing is gone everywhere! The only warning that remains is the JNVA, however I'm pretty
sure that all those 'duplications' are not a good sign.
Another good sign is that my other VPN clients (Junos built-in and Cisco) still work(!), so a restore is not required at this point.
The reason I need to get this client working is that the Built-in client cannot access VPN urls such as
https://vpn.mysite.com/employees and this is (unfortunately) how it is setup by our admins.
    Frustrating....

  • My experience of Playbook and RIM customer support

On Oct 26, 2012, I purchased BlackBerry 32G Playbook from
The Source. I contacted BlackBerry support on Dec 27, 2012 as I was having problem charging it using the charger that came
with the Playbook. The charging cable connects to charging port on the playbook
very loosely and it doesn’t seem to make good stable contact. After some
troubleshooting over the phone, I was told to ship the Playbook for repair.
I was issued an RMA. The Playbook was sent on
Jan 7, 2013 to Lavergne, TN for repair. I received the playbook on Jan 14, 2013
from Lavergne, TN. It came with no note as what was the problem and how it was
    fixed.
On receiving, I soon found out that I still cannot charge
the unit. Called BlackBerry Support again. I was frustrated with same questions
from call center person and she hang up on me. I called them back and it was a
different person. Customer Service representative told me that they cannot see
what repairs if any were done by their facility in Lavergne, TN. I was issued a
new. One more time, the unit was sent back to Lavergne, TN for
repair on Jan 21, 2013. This time, I put a note with Playbook for repair
department to notify me as what was the problem and how it was fixed.
The unit came back from Lavergne, TN on Jan 28, 2013. There
was no note as what was wrong with the unit and how it was fixed. I soon found
out that unit is still not charging. Called the BlackBerry Customer Service
again and I was very frustrated at their sheer inability to fix the problem.
After a very long unpleasant conversation, I was told that they will put a hold
on my credit card and will send me a replacement unit. To avoid being charged,
I need to send my Playbook in 10 business days.
Since I’m out options, I grudging agreed. They couldn’t even tell me if
the replacement unit is going to be a new or refurbished. I was issued new RMA.
I received the replacement Playbook on Jan 30, 2013. Thought
my troubles were over finally. But then I tried my charger to charge the
replacement Playbook and the chargers cable won’t fit into the Playbook. So I
called Customer Service again, this time demanding my money back and they can
    have their Playbook back.
So far I tried three BlackBerry chargers and none of them
cannot charge the Playbook. Every time, I called Customer Service, I was told
to troubleshoot the problem myself. A customer service representative that hang
up on me told me to go to any nearby store, borrow a charger from store to see
    if my Playbook would charge.
The entire month of the Jan 2013 I didn’t get to use the
Playbook. Since I cannot charge Playbook, I cannot use it at all. I got to use
it for less than 2 months and I spent over $200 for a lemon, a horrible
customer/technical support and very long headaches. I had to take Tylenol after
every call to BlackBerry customer service.

Is your PlayBook in a case by any change? I have a friend who had his in a case. When he tried charging it, the plug would not fit in properly and would not charge. Apparently, the hole cut in the case was just a bit too tight so the plug would not go in all the way. He had to remove it from the case in order to charge it up.

  • Multiple devices + 1 BBID - Playbook and Smartphone

    Based on the answers provided in the thread below;
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook-2-0-Insider/Multiple-devices-1-BBID/td-p/...
    I do not understand the following statement;
App World supports one simultaneous BBOS device and one PlayBook, and only 5 switches each per year (a maximum of 15 unique device switches per product line per year)
I have a Playbook 64GB and Strom2 9550. My Storm 2 is on BIS and Playbook connects via WiFi or sometimes tethered through Storm 2. So, both my devices would be logged into my Blackberry ID. I would be using App world many times on both the devices, not simultaneously. Does every switch between Playbook and my Storm 2 switching counted as "unique device switching"? If that is called so, I would be reaching 15 switching in a day or two.
For some reason, at the time of my Playbook purchase, my Storm 2 was not on BIS, because of carrier problem. I switched to another carrier and now, just got my BIS running on my Storm 2. But I have not logged into the Storm 2's App world using my Blackberry ID yet.
Can some one give a clear definition of "unique device switch" ?

No. Those are the "simultaneous" use.

Changing your device from a Storm2 to a new Torch (i.e., a new handheld device PIN) would be a unique device switch.

  • BlackBerry PlayBook and Internet Explorer?

I am a small business owner and Mac user. My business, however, uses a website that works only with Internet Explorer. In the past I have needed to have a small notebook PC in order to access the site and it is time to get a new computer.
I really would like to check out the new BlackBerry PlayBook and will definitely buy one tomorrow (or Tuesday?)  IF it is possible to use IE on it! I really don't want to spend the money for a PC which would be used only for one purpose (I use my iMac for all other computer needs and my BlackBerry 9780 Bold for a phone. Microsoft stopped supporting Macs after version 5 or 6 of IE so that is the ONLY reason I have a PC.)
Oh please please PLEASE tell me that IE will be compatible with the new tablet!?
Anybody know? If not, might as well get an iPad -AND a new notebook PC -AND a new iMac, right?

Do you know why ? There are only two reasons:
either the website uses ActiveX scripts, and in that case you are out of luck
or the webmaster is simply lazy to convert the website to the W3 and ECMA standards, and in that case you can try and convince them. Once that is done, your website will work on any browser including Safari, Opera, MozillaFirefox and InternetExplorer.

Internet Explorer is currently available for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Windows Mobile, excluding all other operating systems.

  • Sayit App for Playbook doesn't work

I cannot get Sayit for the BB Playbook to work. The program states to allow permissions for mic but I don't have any settings to do so After numerous reinstalls (3 different playbooks) still doesn't work. The company doesn't respond to my emails so It leaves me with the impression they are a bogus outfit. Anyone else stuck with apps from BB App world for Playbook that don't work ? Be nice if someone could set up a thread that says which ones work and which don't. This would save time and money for people who pay for an app and then don;t get support ,.At $5.00 per app and maybe thousands of user who download it !!!

Apple doesn't vet or test apps. those apps meet certain requirements and they're in the app store. Look through there, you'll see plenty of 0 or 1 star apps.
There are millions of apps and Apple doesn't vet them.
the facebook app hasn't worked right in years, Apple doesn't care, it's up to Facebook to make their app work. Same applies to Charter
they will not make a developer make their app work well, they let 'survival of the fittest' rule...good apps get good ratings, bad apps get poor ratings, well rated apps rise to the top, poorly rated apps fall to the bottom.

  • Arabic language for PlayBook os 2

I'm from egypt and i use Arabic language and i heard that there are Arabic language for PlayBook but i can't git or fiend it
Please help me to install Arabic language for my PlayBook
    Thank you

    Dear Sir or Madam
I recently bought one of your products, the Blackberry Playbook. It is a great tablet and powerful. I speak English but my mother tongue is Arabic. Because I had a Blackberry phone and the Arabic language is fully supported in all blackberry phones so I thought that there will be no problem with the Playbook regarding Arabic language support.
However, unfortunately, my guess was wrong. The tablet does not support Arabic language. When using the bridge feature the Arabic letters are displayed unconnected and in the wrong direction (from the left to right instead from right to left).
This makes the Playbook useless for me in many situations, for example when presenting documents for conference.
I am writing to you to know if there is a fix for this or if you are updating the language support for the playbook in short coming time.
Please do not use the word soon, as this word lost its meaning when Google abused its use. The life of an electronic gadget is very short these days, so the full support should be available for the user to benefit from the gadget.
In addition, Blackberry phones are very popular in the Middle East and many people, which I know, said to me they will never buy the Playbook if there is no Arabic language support, (I discovered this after I bought the playbook).
If you are aiming high and looking to compete with the leading producer in the tablet market, then just look at how it is easy to change the interface language in the Apple iPad.
