as I am here, I'dlike to thank everybody @ apple for the superb job they made for many years...logic has always been my favorite tool, I even worked for apple in france in the seminars "guitarists & mac".
my last album was made with a big box...now I'm recording the new with logic studio and I still feel so good in this beautiful interface....

I am sorry to hear about the screen issues. To clarify, do you only notice the screen proportion difference when in a certain application? By to long or wide are you stating that parts of the screen images are cut off? Please provide details

Just to make certain, you inserted the original installation disk and started the MBP holding down the C key? Did the Optical drive reject the disk or did it just spin? If the former, the lens in the drive may be dirty and needs to be cleaned. If the latter, you will have to take it to an Apple repair facility.

HP Pavilion dv7 windows 7 64 bits, No sound and No record

Hi,Yestarday I realized that my interntal Microphone did not work. I traid to install upgrades from support Assitance, but a problems ocurred, I do not know if it was a internet coneccion problem or an Antivirus Problem, but after that I had to run Windows Recovery Program because the PC did startup. After that I lost the sound. Some file were corrupted during installation... I traid to run HP recovery or re install Sound Drivers (sp55461.exe), but the problem remains... I have a HP Pavilion dv7Notebock with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits.. I read a post telling this answer...1. Click Start, type: DEVMGMT.MSC in Search Field and Press Enter. It opens Device Maanger Window.
2. Go to 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' category, and expand it. Right click on IDT High Definition Audio Device entry and click Uninstall3. Click Start->All Programs=>REcovery Manager->click Hardware Dirver installation, select Sound Driver entry, and click Install. But, first... All--> All Programs-->HP-->Recovery Manager I do not have "Hardware Driver Installation"... so I do not know how to continue.. Any Idea?

Flash exe window close and display thank you JPG File

I have been created Flash Presentation for my client. I would like to incorporate thank you image in this presentation. But It will show only when user close the presentation. And it will appear for 20sec. and then disappear. I have did this in Macromedia Director few years back through lingo scripting. But I'm don't have much experiec in Flash. So I don't know whether it's possible OR not?
If know any body kindly guide me on this....

My iPad just randomly stopped having sound and will not shut down only restart.

my iPad just stopped have sound. Only works with ear-buds. Also, now when I power it down or even force it, will only restart & will not stay shut off. I have done the whole mute/lock thing, did a reset & even backed it up & restored it. Anybody have any suggestions?? thanks!

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

Internal HD: Need just a bit of insight and/or advice

I have searched through about 25 pages of discussion topic search results to find an answer here but am unable to find anything regarding this specific question:
My PowerBook G4 (1 GHz) 15-inch is now just over 3 years old. I periodically run Disk Utility in order to verify the S.M.A.R.T. status and the integrity of the original internal HD. Backups are done routinely as well. The hardware on this machine has never given me any trouble. The skinny on the HD from System Profiler is as follows:

This is the first time I have ever seen this message. I booted up from the Startup CD, ran Disk Utility, and followed through on the repair of the volume. Everything went fine and it reported that the disk was successfully repaired.
The advice that I am seeking is this: Is this really a "minor" repair in the volume header structure or is it a possible clue that the hard drive itself has begun a slide towards its death in the physical sense?
I am curious to know how long these drives are expected to last, in ideal conditions, based on actual user experiences.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The article also recommends the use of a third party utility, as Disk Utility is not able to repair this kind of directory error. You will need to have either Disk Warrior or Tech Tool Pro to have any chance of repairing the disk.
Your other option is to backup your HDD then completely reformat your drive (post back for step-by-step directions) then re-install the OS and recover your data from the backup.
Please do post back with further questions or comments.

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

Hello. I'm usin Aurora 7.0a2 and Firefox 5 web browsers. The Windows Media Player 11 plug in doesn't work in Aurora, but it does in Firefox 5. Should I change something in the configuration of Aurora? or just wait a new upgrade?. Thank you very much.

Screen displays just a bit of "html", and none of the rest of the page

Every now and then, when I navigate from one page to another, all I see on-screen is the "greater than" sign and "html". If I press F5, the page displays properly.
What's going on, and how do I fix it?

My iMac won't boot up, just makes a beeping sound and goes off. Any ideas?

Managed to insert diagnostic cd and got it to boot. Done scan and shows Video Ram, Volume Structure failed. Any ideas?

Make an appointment at your local Apple Store or AASP, it sounds like a hardware fault. You can begin booking the appointment using Apple Online Service Assistant.
