Just a comment concerning Centro (Verizon) Zire 72 Office 2010 beta

Well I finally got way too tired of the problems with my Centro (Verizon): crashing, intermittent sync problems with Outlook 2003. I have always loved the Palm operating system until the Centro (Verizon) version (never figured out whether this was a "Access" or "Verizon" problem). After a year and a half of messing around and losing data, I ditched the Centro and fired up my old Zire 72s. I uninstalled desktop by Access 6.2.2, (did a registry clean), installed Palm desktop 4.1e and Outlook 2007 updater and believe it or not it syncs flawlessly with Outlook 2010 beta.  This worked for me; I can't say whether it will work for all the other situations that are out there. I'm am happy now; a stable machine with a large screen. (although I do not particularly like carrying around a cell phone and a PDA). I might try Palm Web OS later (if I like the screen).

Palm OS is a dying software it's good to see that you have had success with it working with Outlook 2010, without knowing anything firm or forseeing the future I would be skeptical to even see it get supported for Palm OS.

  • Centro (verizon) won't import my addresses

I used to use a Zire 72 till it was stolen.  I bought a Palm Centro, but it didn't see my addresses.  When I import using the .vcf card file I made, it says that there are too many entries.
    Is there any hope?  Thanks.

When I attempt to import it into contacts, it says
" Error occured while importing the Vcard file. The file may not be a valid Vcardfile or there are too many entries."
It just doesn't like it, but I exported it out of Palm Desktop..... so....
Why would the other selections only copy the first contact even though I had them all selected?  Not that knowing will help me now.
also, I am disappointed that the grey colors of this version of the palm desktop isn't at all as pleasing as the blue/ black of the older version.  Not very nice to look at compared to the other.  Can I change that?  I use it alot.

  • Palm Centro Verizon, Palm Desktop 4.1.4, Calendar WILL NOT SYNC

as above.  I tried to install the V6.2 desktop that came with the phone; the Hotsync crashes every time it starts (some HS20Log.dll problem), so I installed 4.1.4.
The calendar will not sync.  It hangs forever and ever.  Everything else syncs just fine.
I brought my trusty M515 home, synced it with the home computer, then synced the Centro to get the data.  It synced ONCE (the calendar) and never again.
I reformatted the disk and reinstalled the OS (XP SP3), got the same V6.2 hotsync problem and reverted to 4.1.4, and that's where I am now.
    Help.
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

Glad you got things to sync, just a quick thought.
4.1.4 is a rather old version of Palm Desktop.  I would have suggested you try 4.1.4E, as it was designed for later devices and has some updated USB drivers in it...

  • Bluetooth wireless keyboard and Centro (Verizon)

Anyone else having trouble navigatating menus within Palm applications on their Centro using Bluetooth keyboard Fn or Cmd arrow keys?  I can go up and down but not side to side.  Downloaded latest driver which is actually the same driver that came with the keyboard.
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

Follow up:  Palm live chat passed me on to tech support, who advised the Centro is not compatible with the Bluetooth wireless keyboard, then passed me on again to the Palm store for a return.  The Palm Store advertises the items as compatible and insist I just have a bad keyboard.  They are shipping another.  I will pass on the results with the new keyboard.  Is anyone else successfully using a Bluetooth keyboard with a Centro?

  • How to set "from" field in Versamail 4.0.1 EAS / Palm Centro Verizon

I have set up a Palm Centro to sync via Activesync using Versamail 4.01.00. All seems to be working normally but there doesn't seem to be a place to set the senders proper first and last name as the sender. When I send an outbound message the recipient receives the message from login "username" instead of "Firstname Lastname". Anyone know where to change this?
    Thanks,

  • How to synch Palm Centro (Verizon Wireless) with Windows 7, 64 bit??????

I tried to sync with USB adapater that came with the phone but I get error message that device driver could not download.  Can someone please help me.
    Thank you.
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

You cannot natively sync a PalmOS device with a 64bit OS via USB - the solution is to do it wirelessly.

  • Hotsync Centro (Verizon) to ms exchange

I need help please.  I have a new Centro (Verizon) which I am trying to sync to my work calendar and contacts (email is not important but would be nice).  The work stuff is on an exchange server so when I sync the centro to my outlook, nothing is being synced. Is there a way to sync all of my work stuff with my Centro without doing it wirelessly (I do not have a data plan).
    Thanks in advance

That does help. Thank you. From the log file it shows that it is not set to Outlook. So I would have you uninstall the Desktop. Make sure when you uninstall that you delete this folder as well. C:\Program Files\Palm or Palm One. Restart your PC and install Palm Desktop pick Outlook and sync.

  • InteractiveSyn causes Centro(Verizon) to freeze

Every time my Centro is about to be updated and shortly after it is updated it freezes up.  Nothing will work.  No calls can be received or made.  Nothing will work.  If the screen is on, it stays on but frozen.  If the screen is off, it cannot be turned on.  This can last for several minutes.
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

Tony, we need more information from you in order to help...
The title of your post has "Interactive Syn" in it.  We've never heard of that before, and are assuming it's some program you've installed on the phone by yourself.
It was suggested you delete it.
Are you confusing Microsoft ActiveSync  for "Interactive Syn"?
There is no "ActiveSync" on a Centro.  Do you have an email account set up on the phone that uses Exchange Activesync?   This may be the source of your problem!

  • Will a att sim card work in a palm centro verizon phone

Long story, made short...I had a Palm centro 690 that got smashed,my carrier is with at&t,I purchased a palm centro 690 "verizon" no contract phone from e-bay without giving it much thought. Can i use my at&t sim card in it even though it's a palm centro"verizon phone?
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

No, you can't use a SIM card in a Verizon phone.  SIM cards only work in GSM design phones, while Verizon is a CDMA phone.  Totally different radio with no SIM slot at all!

  • Picture messaging on palm centro, verizon?

i was told that i had to connect to the internet to view or save picture messages.
i have unlimited text messaging, so does that mean i can receive picture messages for no charge?
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

    Hello 00margo
Unusually if you have unlimited text messages and a voice plan then it might mean you don't have a data plan. In order to view picture messages this will require data. I might be a good idea to contact your service provided for more information on what you need to do this. Verizon might charge you more for using something that you don't have.

My Centro Verizion works great getting and sending emails, won't show pictures in body of email, or in the downloads.
What have I missed in setup?  My internet connection is broadband.

  • Unlocking contacts for BT connection to 2010 Lexus RX (Palm Centro Verizon)

Easy enough to pair the Centro to the Lexus (with Navigation), however, contacts will not transfer as they are locked on the Centro.  How can I unlock it and transfer my 900+ contacts?

    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

When you say they are locked, do you mean they are marked as private?
Unless you make the records private, they should transfer to the car kit.
On Page 197 of the user guide are the instructions regarding private records. See if the records are marked as private and if they are, make them visible and then try again.
Go to the learn tab on the support page for the user guide.
For reference purposes, click on the following link for the support page for your device on the kb.palm.com webpage.

There are links on the page to the user guide, troubleshooting, how to's, downloads, etc.
Have you verified that your Centro is compatible with your Lexus?
    This is the car kit that states it is compatible;
    Lexus (Denso)
Is your Lexus equipped with this car kit?

  • Centro (Verizon) always automatically locks REGARDLESS of Preferences setting to NEVER automatically lock

The subject line says it all: I set the security preference to NEVER auto-lock, and guess what?? Yep, THE PHONE AUTO-LOCKS ANYWAY!!! Is there some feature that's not documented that I should know about in order to get the Palm Centro to actually function as documented in the manuals???

I have as vanilla as possible a Palm device.  Only extra items:  DbFixIT, and a few (5 total) ringtones.  Below are my settings in PREFERENCES, and in SECURITY.  I wonder if the problem is repeatable.  If you have a Verizon Centro lying around, can you set it as below?   Is the system password-locket after overnight inactivity?
    My settings are:
    On PREFERENCES app:
    Auto-Keyguard: When power is off
Disable toucscreen when:  Incoming calls received, and While on a call.
    Power:  Auto-off after: 3 minutes
     Beam Receive: off
Backlight during calls:  Dim, after 30 seconds
    Bluetooth: Off
    On SECURITY app:
     Password:  [assigned]
    Auto-Lock Device:
      Never
    Current Privacy:
     Hide Records

  • Mundu IM stopped working on my Centro (Verizon)

I purchased Mundu IM for my Verizon Centro, was using it with Yahoo!
It worked fine for a while. I'm not a bit IM user so not sure exactly when it stopped working, but now Mundu can not connect to Yahoo!
I also have an account on MSN Messenger. I get the same mesage for both accounts - "Eror in login"
I'm guessing that Verizon started blocking the port that is required for this app. so that we're tied in to using their SMS based IM client (which of course incurrs text msging charges for each IM sent/received).
Anyone else out there that uses Mundu IM and Verizon?

  • Retail sources for new Palm Centro (Verizon?)

I recently lost my Palm Centro (Verizon), and would like to replace it with another Palm Centro.  Unfortunately, it no longer seems to be avaiable from either Palm or Verizon.  Does anyone know of a retail (not eBay) source for the Palm Centro (Verizon) that is not excessive in price (i.e., over $100?).  I am hoping to locate a new one.  Thanks.

You are looking for a discontinued model, so your sources are pretty much limited to after-market places such as eBay.  I doubt very much that you will find any new ones at any traditional retail outlets.
