Just a DVD from Handycam - can this be done?
Hello Savvy moviemakers,
As a newbie to the entire process of transferring movies to a DVD, I would appreciate a simple approach without titles, themes or music. I want to send a DVD from a Handycam. Period. Is there an easy way to transfer a movie from a Sony DCR TRV 350 to a DVD? Without all the hoopla?

Sony sent me this info, which suggests I have to buy a convertor. Is this the piece I've overlooked? It's amazing they reference Apple on their website.
How to transfer video from an 8mm or Hi8™ camcorder to an Apple® Macintosh® computer.
To transfer video to an Apple® Macintosh® computer from an 8mm or Hi8™ camcorder, the following items are necessary:
The computer must have compatible video capture software installed, such as iMovie®.
The computer must have an Apple FireWire® serial bus (IEEE 1394) connection.
An analog-to-digital converter must be used to connect the camera to the FireWire serial bus connection on the computer.
IMPORTANT: Information regarding iMovie software and the use of an analog-to-digital converter is available on the Apple Macintosh Web site at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61745.
Connect an Audio/Video (A/V) cable to the A/V output jack of the camcorder.
NOTES:
If your camcorder has standard A/V output jacks [FIG. 2], use standard A/V cables [FIG. 3] for the connection.
If your camcorder has a mini A/V output jack [FIG. 4], use an A/V cable with a mini connection [FIG. 5] on one end.
Connect the other end of the A/V cable to the A/V input jack on the analog-to-digital converter.
Connect a FireWire cable to the output on the analog-to-digital converter.
Connect the other end of the FireWire cable to the FireWire serial bus connection on the computer.
Turn on the camcorder to the VCR, VTR or PLAYBACK mode.
Turn on the analog-to-digital converter.
IMPORTANT: If the converter has more than one A/V input, make sure the input to which the camcorder is connected is selected on the converter. In addition, make sure the converter is set to convert an analog signal to DV.
Cue the video in the camcorder to the beginning of the video footage to be transferred.
Turn on the computer.
Start the video capture software.
Begin playing the video in the camcorder.
Begin importing the video with the video capture software.

You are able to sync purchased content from your iDevice to a new computer as long as the comptuer is authorized
To authorize the computer follow these steps
At the topi of the screen next to File- Edit -View, click store then Authorize this computer.
Enter in your appleID email address and password and click authorize
**If you do not see the File Edit View option, At the very top left corner you should see a little square click the square and click show menu bar.
Now that your computer is authorized click the file menu button, then click Devices, then go to your iPhones name and then click Transfer purchases this will allow you to transfer all of your purchased content to the computer
Now if you want to transfer your non purchased content to the computer you can do so if you have wif and the previous computer on the same network as the new computer with home sharing

I don't know about the first letter cap but the spelling is simple. Edit - Spelling and Grammar - Select While Typing and Correct Spelling Automatically.

its not a question, but i just hope someone from apple can read this, i just wish you can make a card just like itunes card, for ipad wi-fi card. would be convenience.

But returning to your proposal ... Apple does not sell any of the "wifi" connections. It would be up to providers of service to sell giftcards, and perhaps Boingo or some of other airport-commercial WiFi firms do. I can't think of any other place I've been asked to pay for WiFi.
Now Verizon and AT&T, as well as other providers in other countries, could sell Gift Cards... and again, perhaps they do, but you'll have to check with them or make the suggestions there. It's really not an Apple issue, as they don't sell or provide any connections, just the hardware to make them. -
I have just purchased the new iPad with the camera connection kit and want to be able to view my photos full screen and not import them. Can this be done and how? Please advise. Thank you.
When connecting the Camera Connection Kit to a camera or SD card all you see are the thumbnails of the photos. I suggest you review those, select the photos you might want to see full screen, then import them to your iPad. After viewing them you can always delete them if you no longer want them on your iPad.
I also suggest Keeping the photos on your camera or SD card until you import the to your computer and back them up to at least one other location. -

No, this canot be done, afaik. When your camera or card is connected, you will see the thumbnails in the camera pane, but not full size preview. So to browse your photos on the iPad you will need to import them to your camera roll. But you need not delete them from the camera or card after importing, so you might simply import selected photos to your camera roll from the camera grid and then delete them again from the camera roll after importing and browsing, without removing them from the card/camera.

But, just as a piece of advice, take a deep breath before you access those websites. Prices of Apple products here in Brazil are absurdly higher than those in the US.

Sorry, but balances can't be transferred from one iTunes Store account to another. You'll either have to make his purchases through your account, or buy another prepaid card and redeem that in his account.

Can this be done? Airport extreme connected wireless in extend mode to connect a wireless Mac Pro with an ethernet cable from the extended airport extreme.
This will work.....IF....you also have an Apple AirPort router configured to provide your wireless network.
In other words, you need to have two Apple AirPort routers to extend a wireless network.
When the AirPort Extreme is configured to "extend" the wireless of the "main" AirPort, it will provide more wireless coverage and the Ethernet ports are enabled, so you could connect your Mac Pro to any of the Ethernet ports and use that as a network and Internet connection. -

I want to import songs frm my Ipod to my itunes library. Songs were ripped from CDs to the ipod not purchased from itunes store...how can this be done?
You would have to let itunes rip the songs from the cd's, or you would have to copy the music from the computer which ripped cd's.
iTunes does not support transferring music from the ipod unless it was purchased from the store. -
I need to block someone from emailing me, it is important that they receive an undelivered message when they attempt to email me. Can this be done? I do not mind deleting the whole account and starting again, but i have not found a way as of yet.
You can go to the Mail page at http://icloud.com , click on the cogwheel icon at top right, choose 'Rules' and set up a rule that moves all messages from this person to the Trash. However there's no way of producing an 'undelivered' message.
As to deleting the account, this isn't possible; you can abandon using it and start another. If you do this, messages to it will pile up until the storage limit is filled, at which point they will be bounced with an 'Account over limit' message. Alternatively you could set up a 'Vacation message' in the Preferences which would inform anyone sending to that address that it was no longer in use.
