Just a heads up

This morning I received a text that said the following:
"Your account verizon has been disabled by reasons of security enter link and confirm your data" followed by a link that I will not put here.
Now most of us, especially if you're an online gamer such as World of Warcraft, have been inundated with these idiotic messages in the form of email and we already know what they are, not to mention their grasp of the English language is a bit off.
However, we do have children who have cell phones who may be naive enough to click on this.
Please let them know not to!
This is keylogging program that can go in and get private information about you, your family and your financial information.  Blocking is not a bad idea but rest assured they have more than one route to your phone.  I don't know if the staff of Verizon reads these forums. I hope they do.

  • MMS not working with O2 - Just a heads-up to any L...

    Thought I'd give a heads-up to any Lumia 800 users on O2 out there/here.
It has now become something of an official 'issue' in o2 tech support that sending and receiving mms messages is 'troubled' for lack of a better word on the lumia 800.
I myself can only receive mms messages but not send. Others may APPEAR to have mms working but will find that the occassional (maybe every other) mms sent to them will not get through.
O2 are apparently working on this issue now but thought I'd spread the word just in case there's anyone on here who either cant get mms to work, are having mms only work every now and again, or also for o2 users who may not even know about this yet.
    Pads.

In relation to Potatowned's comment, yeah mate I have the latest firmware and os. It's makes no difference, at least where O2 is concerned. Yeah the network settings app was fairly useless for me. O2 themselves also said that the diagnostic section won't help
They seem pretty confident on the phone (they could just be good liars ) That this is going to be resolved fairly soon, at their end rather than a software update.
It IS a bit depressing calling a technical support line just to hear some moron on the other end reading through a script of questions - such gems of course including : "Make sure the o in o2 is typed as a letter, and not the number zero'.
    Thanks tech support.

  • Just a heads up on verizon scam

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that there is yet another verizon scam going around. Just got a call from (800) 888 9617 saying I have won the verizon price or whatever said I won $123 off my bill,  then to log into vzw123.com. This is not real, someone just trying to rip people off.

I just received the same type of phishing scam call.  It was showing in the caller ID as 800-888-9620 and upon answer an automated recording indicated that Verizon was calling about a pending $123 refund check.  They indicated that I needed to visit vzw123.com and enter my account information to claim the check.  The recording played twice and the call disconnected.  Seems like there are a few variations of this scam floating around using a variety of spoofed caller id numbers (CSID) and a variety of websites addresses.

  • Footer starts just below header in Firefox and Opera

    Hi all,
I have created a page: http://www.colombiareiser.no/ and finally the page looks like I would like it to look in Internet Explorer. But...the page look totally different  in Opera and Firefox. In those browsers the footer (grey area) seems to start just below my header, thus "ignoring" my main content.
    Anybody have any clue?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Ivan

    Hi,
If I understood you proposed solution correct it didn't solve my problem. I think adding another </div> would make 1 too much on my page.
Looking further into this I have kind of identified the problem:
    1. My page consists of 2 sets of divs; 1 is floated to the left while the other is floated to the right.
    2. They are not filling all the space so there is like 10 px between them.
    3. The footer seems to sneak up between the 2 floated div sets even though they are wrapped with another div.
Anybody know how I can solve this?
    Best regards,
    Ivan
    http://www.colombiareiser.no
PS: My "unsexy" solution for this is to create a new div at the bottom of the page and then fill it with "*********************************" (and then maybe set colour to the same as the background). That keeps the footer in place.

  • Downloaded new version of Firefox and now when I do a search I don't see any text of my results, just the heading.

Downloaded new version of Firefox 3.6.12. When I do a search the results on the screen use to have a heading and then a small description for each result. Now all that comes up is the heading. How can I get it back to the way it was?

I have the shortcuts on my browser to the sites that I go to frequently. It's when I press those buttons (which have always worked before and I checked their URLs) it takes me to the Yahoo Page not Found page. But then when I click the shortcut button again, it usually works.

  • Just a heads up - calendar/alarm conflict

If you add an entry to your calendar and set a reminder/alert for that entry, no alarms will go off while that alert is displayed.
I set myself an alert for 5:30 this morning, and also had my alarm set to go off at that time. The alert went off but I didn't hear my alarm until I woke up several hours later and closed the alert! A simple workaround would be to set your alarm one minute before the alert, but for those of you that like to hit the snooze button this could still cause problems.

  • Just a heads up regarding iOS 7; use caution if you NEED your phone.

Aside from the myriad things that can go wrong with a major OS upgrade like this, what has happened the last few times Apple released a major upgrade is that many people were left without a functional phone for a few hours as your phone needs to reauthorize itself with Apple after an upgrade, and those authorization servers get overloaded even if those serving the software upgrade itself do not.
If I recall correctly, when iOS 6 was released, many peoples' phones did not authorize for an hour or two.
I also recall that for many the upgrade process itself took multiple hours to complete, and then there were quite a few "teething" issues that needed to be worked out (one of the biggest was that Wi-Fi wouldn't work anymore, with people being asked to log into a website at Apple for which they had no login or password.)
Likewise I recall the iTunes Match servers were swamped, so many were left with a blank music list for a day or two.
Therefore, if you know you're going to need your phone within say three to four hours of when you plan to do the upgrade, you may want to wait until later this week when the traffic to Apple's servers slows down a bit.

  • Just a heads up about if you want to return the iphone 4

i had 3 replacements and decided enough was enough, i managed to return my phone yesterday after the 14 day cooling off period due to the phone being faulty. the networks can cancel the contract up to 28 days from the start.im hoping mr jobs announces a revised handset so i can grab one that actually works:)

3 Replacements? Over in the proximity sensor thread (a problem I suffer with too btw) there are some people reporting 6, 7 and even 10 replacements. I don't have words to describe how terminally stupid someone has to be to keep getting replacements with identical faults and then repeat the process almost ad infinitum. And I don't get why Apple geniuses are willing to indulge this kind of obsessive Groundhog Day behavior. These people either need to wait for a potential firmware fix, or get their money back.

  • Just a heads up for all, new and o

Soz if I have been a bit slack of late helping out where I can, been very busy, but I have been very hard at work on the holy grail of FAQ sheest for the Audigy2 ZS.
Pretty much over the time I have had my ZS, about 6-7mths I have been given out help, getting as much info as I can and also using my set up as a lab rat trying to force errors and all kinds of things, then trying to fix it again. So, hopefully in the next week or so it should be all done and I do feel it has pretty much EVERYTHING there is to know about the ZS from, how to install in 3 or more different ways ( the card does seem to have a mind of its own ) somewhat hidden files that come in handy for trouble shooting, a tonn of methods for error solving and ideal set up settings plus some other things that you may not know about .
So, hopefully once all done most if not all ZS issues will be very cloes to solved if not mastered, hopefully Creative will also read my findings along with others and together we can get everything the mighty ZS has to offer plus some.
Oh, hi ya CAT, hows things

    Hello, how things
Well there is something like 2.50 meg of plan notepad text, so that gives you a rough idea of the amount gone into it, phew
Although, now I have pretty much everything I think the average user will need if they are faced with an issue, setting up the catigories and proof reading for errors is going to take a bit a time.
I have though tried to keep it simple in terms of how it reads. I wanted to make it read in a way thats not overly complecated to understand how to go about solving issues and/or setting things up so I think most people who are new to the Audigy 2 ZS card will have no problem finding a solution.
Ok, I hope to have it up ASAP.
    Chow.
Oh, um there is bound to be well over 3000 or so chars, I remeber helping some guy out ages ago and I went over 3000 and could not post it, I got around it but for he life of me cant remeber how, little help please

    Hi All.
I have a problem that header and footer are displayed two times. I have two header jsp's one is header.jsp and the other one is header1.jsp.
Firstly I used this shell which displayed just one header.jsp in the header panel....

    </netuix:body>
    </netuix:shell>
    </netuix:markup>

  • Third Party : Sales order Header text should copy to PO Header text

    Hi,
I need to copy sales order header text to PO Header text
in the third Party sales order scenario.
Can anybody suggest how to do it.
    Thanx in advance.
    Regards,
    RRS.

I doupt that this is possible without using a user exit.
The 3rd sales order will create a PR, the PR has no header text (just a header note = internal use), the PO is created in reference to the PR. And it is not possible to copy PR header text to PO header text.

  • Adobe Reader 8.0 - Heads UP!

I just installed the Adobe Reader 8.0 for Mac (specifically 10.4 Tiger releases) on 10.5 Leopard, to see if it would work and what would be 'broken'.
I can say that printing was broken on my machine, and the graphics didn't look right. Preview looked better!
Just a 'Heads UP!' for any one thinking to install Adobe Reader on Leopard, who have installed the 8.0 version, or who may have had it on Tiger when they upgraded to Leopard.

Matt, have you tried it to see what isn't working with 8.1.1 and Leopard?
Not yet. There have been enough improvements in Preview that make it more useable for me. I haven't had much time to experiment with programs the developer has said won't be fully functional.
