Just a reminder that video must be in a playlist to sync
I know it's mentioned elsewhere in the discussions but since it took me more than an hour to find the cause for not synching I thought I'd bring it out specifically.
Just got my ipod today and while I got my videos into iTunes they wouldn't sync to the ipod. Then I ran accross Podner, which actually created a playlist entry that it added the video to and about same time I ran accross it in the discussion.
I.e. the video needs to be in a playlist, just like songs. It was mentioned not to mix music and video in the same playlist.
Do you have your ipod set to auto sync it all or only playlist(s) you select?
That might be the diff as I have much more than I want on my ipod so I sync only selected playlists, so it actually makes sense that no playlist no sync. I just had it on the brain that video was different I guess, assuming playlists to mean music only. Learn something new every day. Every minute actually

I have the same problem with podcast playlists. When I go to the music window in my iPhone devices section, the playlists I have created on my macbook pro in iTunes do not appear as an option to sync with the iPhone. I know some web radios streams, like the BBC, won't transfer because of compatibility issues, but the playlists of podcasts that I have created consist entirely of podcasts downloaded from the podcasts section on the iTunes Music Store. They used to show up and sync properly before I upgraded to OS 5.1.1, but now they don't.
Does anyone have a fix and am I right in surmising that the cause is a glitch in OS 5.1.1? -

I'm trying to purchase and download a movie, but I keep getting message error that I have no space. The error states that I must delete some photos or videos in order to download. I've gone to iPod then edit and deleted some videos, but I'm still getting the message. What is the correct way to delete the videos and should they still be there.
They wont still be there if you delete them,but if you have those same photos on the main computer.

Can you transfer hd video directly from an ipod touch to the ipad 2 and then EDIT that video in imovie? I will be on the road and wont have a mac, just an ipad 2 and ipod touch. I want to shoot video on the touch and edit it on the ipad. Thanks!

Its funny. So far the responses have been 50/50 on this question. I even asked two seperate Apple Store employees here in NYC, and got two different answers! One said yes, the other no.

I know from watching the keynote speech about icloud and iOS 5 that you will be able to cut the cord between the pc and ios devices like the ipad. No more need to sync them via a cord. So will that mean i would then be able to load video directly to the ipad via tha cam kit connector from my ipod? Also i wonder if/when Apple will allow HD video from on Apple devices like a canon dslr to be able to transfer to the ipad via the cam kit connector AND be able to EDIT that footage in imovie for the ipad. Speaking of imovie for the ipad...i hope it gets an update soon as well.
Anyway....with the macbook airs getting updated next week with thunderbolt and new sandy bridge chips....i may just get one of them instead of the ipad 2 for editing video on the road. Still...i prefer surfing the web experience on the ipad. Grrrrrrr. **** youuuuuuu Apple!!! Lol -
I have an ipod touch 4th generation and have just recently downloaded the new update. I was wondering why the videos that I had added in my playlist won't show up. Is there anyway that I could get my videos to appear in my playlist? They are still in my ipod in the video section, but just won't appear in my playlist.
iOS6 problems aplenty ....not sure if the link I inserted is working or not, but the issue is a lot more prevalent - the issue being that what shows up & plays in iTunes after the iOS6 update is not what shows up (& plays) on the device itself. This may go beyond just the iPod Touch as well.
In my case I can see & play both audio & video files in my Playlist through iTunes, but can only see the Playlists on the iPod Touch with ALL of them being empty. Syncing numerous times no help. Contacting Apple Tech. Support no help - they suggested downloading my Purchases from the iTunes Store - waste of time, did not make a difference. It is clear Apple needs to release a fix to OS6.
Another problem I noticed on the device is that the Shuffle option is hidden on the built-in Songs Playlist, having to swipe the screen down to see it - dumb dumb dumb. -

I was recording the birth of my nephew my battery was low and so my phone turned off and didn't automatically save the video clip is there any way of retrieving that video footage or is it lost forever? :(
If it doesn't appear in the camera roll after charging the phone it is lost.

I forgot my password and am trying to reset my ipod, but it won't work.It says that my ipod is in recovery mode and that I must restore it. I click ok, and then click on restore and update. Then it says connecting ipod software update server and a screen pops up with ipod software update on the top and iOS 5.1. It lists a bunch of stuff this update contains and on the bottom it says next, which I click and nothing happens, it just goes back to the ipod restore page. Help, what am I doing wrong?

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. How can I view just music - not videos - in the libary and playlists?
I've noticed that when creating smart playlists and viewing the libarary I cannot filter out videos... is there a way to do this without having to just uncheck the videos and pretend they aren't there or is this something that apple didn't think of?
I want to create smart playlists to listen to in my car and want to back up my library on dvd-roms, that is where this becomes a problem. If anyone knows how to change the settings so that videos don't show up in certain playlists or on the libarary I would appreciate it a lot.How can I view my full billing history for the app and music stores without iTunes installed?

I am installing itunes to a laptop and have not sync device to this lap. It is saying that it must first restore device. The problem is I have over 2000 pictures and don't want to lose them. Now my phone is in restore mode and I don't know what to do. I don't want to proceed and loose these very important photos of family. What do I do to get it out of restore mode? My phone will not allow me to do anything to it at this point. I have the itunes downloaded on the laptop now. When I push the button for the phone it just shows Itunes and plug. I can't even call or open phone up.

Using a computer, other than the one you have regularily been Syncing and Backing up to, was the begining of your issue. -

PS I also cannot get the app for Podcasts.Having the same issue here. I unfortunately purchased a book on iTunes, then went to download iBooks, but can't due to their recent update/upgrade. My kids iTouchs are all 6.1.5 , So I'm guessing that if you did not have iBooks previously purchased that you are now S.O.L. if you want to read a book on your iPod??
I am rather frustrated that I spent money on a book that they can't read.

What is wrong with my computer or is it the program site that I am in? It keeps telling me that I must install Adobe Flash Player but Adobe says it is installed and up dates do not apply. Help because I cannot go further on the site that I am on and it is a secure site that I have used many times in the past.
What browser are you using? So you have a website pulled up and it is a full screen flash player trying to play or is it a area of the page with a player claiming on the player to install flash?

1. Test your Flash Player for versions to make sure nothing happened with that link. If Adobe's Flash Player test through this link says your player is working and up to date then,,,
2. Check your add-ons or extensions, depending on the browser for what they are called. Make sure Flash Player extensions are enabled. That allows it to play within a webpage.
3. Check your Flash Player settings itself. There are settings where you restrict, approve, and so on in different ways. The link I shared with help guide you.
4. Check parental settings. My son plays on this parental control software that always restricts the Flash Player with his games, or videos on Disney, Nick, and other channel websites.
5.I used to have a computer that claimed this all the time. It drove me crazy. I found out for that computer that it did not like an update so I uninstalled and reinstalled flash player. I made sure the Adobe page showing the Flash Player was reinstalled correctly came up, then closed all my browser pages, then reopened to make sure not permission spot popped up to ok for future use.

Why is En start transcoding if it just told me that I do not need to?
have HiDef footage that I edited and exported from Premiere CS3 to Encore CS4 using the BluRay High preset.
NTSC, 1440x1080, 23.976 [fps], Progressive
PCM Audio, 48 kHz, Stereo
VBR, 2 Pass, Target 20.00, Max 25.00 [Mbps]
Premiere asked me to save the file and it exported the file as .m4v for video and .wav for audio. Once AP finished transcoding it opened the Encore. Both files are shown untranscoded under the BR Transcode Status column. I transcoded the .wav file, but when I try to transcoded the .m4v file I get the following message:
The file you about to transcode is already legal for Blue-ray. Transcoding will affect its quality.
I click cancel in the dialog, but when I try to build a blue-ray folder Encore starts building with transcoding the .m4v file.
Why is En start transcoding if it just told me that I do not need to? Is there a setting I am missing?Are you sure it's transcoding the .m4v? I have on numerous occasions had Encore CS4 start to transcode the audio that I had just finished transcoding. I seem to have a bug whereby Encore 'forgets' it's audio transcodes, and has to redo them. Could this be happening to you as well?
