Just another oc problem

I have oced my cpu from 200fsb to 235fsb then i got a random shutdown wile playing and I sett up the vcore even further to 1.6v, now i don't get the shutdown but the game I'm playing shuts down.
vcore:1.6v
ram:2.65v
divider 5:4
temp idle(in bios):31c
temp load 42-45
if i sett vcore to 1.7 system will not boot at all.

You can take your memory up to 2.7 with no problem at all, that may help with the reboots during gaming.
I am running my Kingston hyperX PC4000 at 2.8 volts and it has not been an issue for me at all, you "can" try going that high with your memory, it will not hurt it just to see if your system is stable or not (IE short term use), if you choose to keep your memory at 2.8 there is a good chance that the life of your memory will be shorter than if you ran it at default voltage, so you need to figure out for yourself if you want to risk running your DDR voltage at 2.8 long term.
The way I look at it is this, I wont be keeping this memory for more than 2 years, so I dont mind the risk, if you plan on keeping your current system for a few years I would suggest leaving your system as close to stock as possable.

  • Just another ANNOYING problem with internet

    Hello everybody !
So here we go, I am another user that has problems viewing web pages. To make a long story short I would like to add that though I am not a system administrator by any means, I am an experienced user. So if I say for example "I did nothing but the program stoped working correctly" DOES realy mean that I did nothing at all (therefore it doesnt mean that I occasionaly pushed few buttons while viewing complex settings and then forgot about it).
PROBLEM : Sometimes (randomly) I am not able to view web pages. The problem may disappear suddenly, but otherwise I have to reboot computer to solve the problem (untill it happens again. And it WILL happen withing ~30min...4 hours, so several times a day)
I USE : Macbook air 2012 (i7 8gb if it does matter). MacOS 10.8.2.   Everything is up to date, I frequently check the system for updates.
WHAT HAVE I TRIED TO DO TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM :
    1) I have changed the wireless channel so that nobody around uses the same one
    2) I have changed router and internet provider (well I did not change them, I just use my mba at office, at home and somewhere else. Each place has its own router (d-link at work and apple airport express at home) and its own provider)
    3) I have changed mtu (maximum transmission unit) to 1453 from 1500 by default (System preferences -> network -> advanced )
    4) I have tried different public DNS servers
    5) I did try to request DHCP once again when the problem appears
    6) The last but not least - I have tried different browsers (safari, opera, firefox)
The only thing that works yet - reboot.
MY STUPID THOUGHTS ON THAT :
    - This is not a router problem, because I have already tried about 4-5 different models, including D-link, Airport and Asus
    - This is not an internet connection problem generaly (I am able to use skype, teamviewer etc. while the problem occurs)
    - This is not a macbook problem, because if I boot Windows (via bootcamp), it seems like I do not face that problem at all
As a result : this is a MacOS problem, and I have to look for fix inside it.
    SOME ADDITIONAL INFO :
It realy happens suddenly: I am browsing webpages, everything is ok. Then bum - and the next page starts to load SLOWLY. Few more pages load SLOWLY (if there are pictures, I find "?" instead of them). And then pages stop loading at some moment. If I try to refresh the page, it might help sometimes. But then, finaly, I just lose opportunity to load web pages by any means.
The problem may go away for some time, but it will return for sure. Rebooting every time is incomfortable for me, since I have a lot of stuff opened and rearranged between different spaces (desktops).
Thank you for your time in advance guys ! Hope some of you have already faced the problem and have found the solution.
Thank you for your time guys.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.) You can omit the final line ending in “$”.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}'
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null
Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • Just anothe installing problem topic...

    Hi,
i wanted to install Solaris 10 x86 on my pc on an empty second harddrive. on the master harddrive runs winXP. my system specs are:
    Epox 8K5A2 with AthlonXP 1800+
    768MB PC2700
    First HD:
    Samsung SP1604N IDE
    Second HD:
40GB IDE (more information will follow if necessary)
    Sapphire Radeon9600 128MB
However, when i try to install solaris 10, the installation stops at this screen:
    http://mitglied.lycos.de/grompl/sol10inst.png
I havent found another topic, where someone describes an installation problem at the same screen. Can someone help me?
    Thanks.

yes, i think the usb controller is the problem. with
"b -v" Im getting some messages about incompability
of the usb controller. That's probably about the VIA EHCI USB2.0 controller, which
refuses to load anyway. This should be more or less harmless -
    but USB 2.0 won't work.
But it probably means that you've got a system with a VIA chipset,
and I've seen hangs on the VIA USB 1.0 UHCI controller, too.
but do you mean disabling the
usb controller in the bios or in the installation
    program?
when in installation program, what do I have to do?In the BIOS.
But you can also try to enter the "Device configuration
assistant" (DCA) by pressing the "ESC" key during boot, and
delete the USB controllers in the list of identified hardware on the
second DCA screen. Might help, too.
If it really is the USB 1.0 uhci driver that causes the hang, you
may have to add a line "exclude: drv/uhci" to the file
/etc/system, once Solaris is installed. This prevents the use of
the Solaris USB 1.0 UHCI driver.

  • Just another xorg7 problem..

    Hi
I´m still having a lot of issues with this update.
I posted my problems in the relevant threads..but no solutions so far.
But here is a new one.
Some apps just don´t start. I´m getting this:
pixie: error while loading shared libraries: libdpstk.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
This dpends on X11, but how can it be fixed?

Errors like this are caused by a) a missing library or b) an updated library.
If you have a libdpstk.so.* on your system, then it's case b).  The package containing pixie needs to be rebuilt, i.e. get the PKGBUILD, makepkg and pacman -A.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
were the prom pictures on the iPhone 3 to begin with?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

i just posted a problem and gave you my email that i cannot get into. i have another email address for you to send an answer for me. [email protected]

What does the page say? What do you need help with?

  • HT201303 was just having this problem until today. It is now all sorted and I can explain what to do very simply and easily.

I was just having this problem until today. It is now all sorted and I can explain what to do very simply and easily.
I remembered the answers to my questions, I just forgot "EXACTLY" how I entered the text - so I had to have them reset. The easiest way is to sign in through www.appleid.com. Then on the right click the "Manage your Account" link and sign in. Easy so far right. Then, as others have said, look on the left of the screen you will see a link called "Password and Security" - click on this. Now this is where the confusion begins. Some people have a link located directly under the existing questions that looks like this "Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to blah blah blah email . If you see this click it and it will send an email to the "Rescue Email" address that you entered when you originally entered your answers. Follow the instructions contained in this email and you are done. If you cannot remember this email address or you have since closed it, you will need to go to the Itunes Express lane and send an email to Apple requesting them to reset your answers.
HOWEVER IF YOU DO NOT SEE A THIS LINK UNDER THE QUESTIONS - this means that you DID NOT enter a Rescue email address when you originally set your questions. The only way you can now reset your Security Questions and Answers is to go to the Itunes Express lane and email Apple asking to have these reset. I have 2 apple accounts, one for myself and one for my daughter - as I did not include a rescue email I had to email apple. On both occasions, these questions were reset and an email sent to me exactly 24 hours after I sent them the request. I entered the new details, WROTE THEM DOWN EXACTLY AS I ENTERED THEM THIS TIME, entered a Rescue Email this time and I am good to go again. Simple. Now when I log in and click on "Password and Security" I do have the reset link visable. Apple support are good, they just take a bit of time to get things done, but they always seem to get there in the end. I just wish someone had taken the time to explain this somewhere else in the forum as it would have saved me much time and angst.
To get to the Itunes Express Lane go to this website www.appleid.com make sure the correct country is displayed top right, if not change it. Once this is saved go to the tabs at the top of the screen and click Support. Then halfway down the next page you will see a photo of two random people with a title of Contact Apple Support - Click this. Scroll down until you see the itunes logo, to the right of this you will see the link Express Lane for iTunes Player and iTunes Store - click on this. One the right hand side of the next page click on the link "itunes Store". On the next page click the link "Account Management" check the radio button beside "itunes store account security", select your country from the drop down box and click "Continue". Under the heading MORE OPTIONS, you will see a clickable link called email - click this. Fill in your name, Apple ID and country. Then in the text box, write "I have forgotten the answers to my Security questions, would you kindly please reset them. Thank-You". Then Click Continue, you will be given a reference number and an email is sent to your address advising that generally someone will attend to your request within 24 hours. Like I said previously, I had to do this twice and both times it was reset however it was done within about 5 minutes of the 24 hour cut off, so you will have to be patient. I know 100% that this works for Australia - I am guessing other countries should be similar. Hope this helps someone somewhere!

    Standard troubleshooting...
    1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider.  Slide to power off.  Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
    2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    3. Remove apps from Recently Used list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Swipe up on the app preview card
    - Press the home button when done.
    4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
    5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
    6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

  • Just another rtorrent ui mod

hi, I have been working on just another rtorrent ui mod, it's mainly inspired from rtorrent-mod by karabaja4 - thanks to him :-)
I am sorry, I haven't made any package yet (need to study for it as never done before). I am attaching a patch for now, apply it from src directory like below.
    highlights:
1 - colored more elements (tracker lists, chunks, files list, transferring chunks list etc)
    2 - a bit different ui
3 - almost everything done lowercase (I like it like that, sorry if you don't like it)
    pwd should be rtorrent/src/rtorrent-0.9.3/src
    patch -p1 < ui-rtorrent-mod.patch

To remedy this problem someone suggested I get a range expander. So I did. And after spending over 2 hours setting it up yesterday (there are at least 6 other wireless networks in range so the setup was very complicated - the extender kept logging on to other unsecured Linksys networks) it seemed to be working ok. But the bliss only lasted about one hour.
    Here's the problem:
When I turn on the laptop it tries to log on to the weak router signal instead of the extender signal. This is because it takes about 2 minutes before the extender signal is even found. When the extender is found the computer gets confused and starts to log in again - this time through the extender. But for some reason it has a VERY hard time getting a new IP address. Thus it takes almost 5 minutes before the network works again.
    Questions:
    1. Isn't the extender signal supposed to be there all the time? it seems like the signal only appears after a computer logs in to the network.
    2. why is my computer having such a hard time obtaining an IP address from the extender? All the settings are exactly the same on the router and the extender.
    3. am I crazy or is this thing just causing more problems?\

hi..first off, ensure that both , the wre54g and wrt54gs have the latest firmwares on them...
after upgrading the firmware , reset the router for 30 secs and reconfigure it....
change the ssid , channel 1 or 11, change the beacon interval - 50 , fragmentation threshold and RTS threshold - 2304 ...
if u have a wre54g v1 range expander , reset it for 20 secs and then press the autoconfig button on it..this should configure the range expander..
if u have a wre54g v2 , connect it to the computer.. assign an ip add on the comp
    192.168.1.10
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.240
and try accessing http://192.168.1.240 . Keep the username blank and password as "admin".. once u logon to the ui .. make sure that the wireless settings are same as that of the router..
remove the static ip from the computer...do a power cycle....
this should configure the range expander...
and place the range expander somewhere in the midway ...

I'm having trouble with my new iPhone.it seems it likes to turn it self off for no reason at all.i would like to know is this a hardware or software problem or just a iPhone problem i don't know.

basic troubleshooting steps from the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.
Have ANY of these been tried?

Hello I just found a problem with my Ipod nano 6th generation. It worked fine an hour ago but then the screen turned a dark grey. Did the restore through Itunes and then it went white. Hi clarity,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You may want to first try removing and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes by following the steps in this article:

  • I'm having problems with my internet connection after installing OS X Lion. Is this a known problem or just a local problem?

I'm having problems with my internet connection after installing OS X Lion. Is this a known problem or just a local problem?
After +/- 10 to 15min my connection is gone.
    Does anyone have a sollution?

Lots of people are having the same problem, you're not the only one, belieeeeve me.
Just Googling the problem gets you tons of people complaining about the same thing, SOMETHING is up with Lion what wasn't happening with Snow Leopard. i just bought a new Imac and it CAME with Lion, so i started experiencing this internet dropout immediately.
It's been going on for the most of a year it looks like (at least by the dates from the threads i've been reading)
So your best bet is to fiddle with the System Preferences and read what other people have used to make theirs work. i'm doing that myself right now.  I already posted  a similar thread last night trying to figure out why my connection kept on dropping, i got a reply which linked me to a site. i followed the instructions there, so far so good, but i'm just being cautiously optimistic.
i'm gonna call Apple today and see if they've found anything, though seeing as this is a problem right out of the box there may not be an immediate solution. Good luck hunting for a solution :3

  • I have just been having problems with my Canon MP250 printer and decided to uninstall and re-install the printer and everytime I try to re-install the printer trough preferences and all I keep getting was a message saying "preparing to queue"......

I have just been having problems with my Canon MP250 printer and decided to uninstall and re-install the printer and everytime I try to re-install the printer trough preferences and all I keep getting was a message saying "preparing to queue"...... I then decided to try and reload the Canon printer drivers and for some silly reason I deleted the existing Canon printer drive. Now I cannot load them from the CD provided with the printer or from downloads through the Apple store. If anyone out there could help me I would be greatly appreciated......

These Canon printer/scanner drivers from Apple - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL899 - should work. The MP250 is listed on the support page. Try downloading and installing them.
    Good luck,

  • YAPP (Yet Another Printing Problem)

I've found another printing problem - this time with colour printing.
    To my
surprise, Forte (3.0.E.0) can print in colour (at least on a HP 690C,
    using
NT drivers for the 660C, the printer being connected to a Win95
    machine).
I can print OK with from my NT develpoment machine in colour, but when
    running
the same app from the Win95 client with the printer attached locally the
coloured text disappears. Has anyone else come across this problem?
Is this another of the 'Printing works fine as long as it happens
    non-locally?'
    features?
    Thanks

I wonder if this is related to the printing feature I discovered
where things I print from Forte have a strong tendency to come out in
the same colours as my windows desktop, which is
    typically yellow-on-black.
