Just bought a macbook air and new one comes out

hey guys bought a mba like 2-3 weeks ago and now the new one comes out lol do i have any options ?

Yes. Enjoy the one you have or sell it and buy a new one. You have 14 days from date of purchase to exchange it without question or get your money back. After that option has expired you may find the local Apple Store manager is kind and will allow the exchange anyway. Call and ask.

A 2003 MS office sounds like a Windows version.  A 2004 MS Office that was Mac compatible can not be run natively on a new MBA since the Lions do not run PPC applications.  You will have to get a newer edition of MS Office that is compatible with your new MBA.
    Ciao.

  • Hi, we just bought a Macbook air and we can't find the 'reminders' app in the applications or through the spotlight search. Is there a link to download the app? I can't find it online or through the app store. Please help!

Reminders is automatically installed with 10.8 or above. A new Mac should have 10.9; it's possible that, with a third-party vendor, you have an earlier OS. Check under the Apple menu in the top left and click About This Mac. That will tell you what version of OS X you have.

Ziatron is correct that Flash does not work on an iPad, but it does work on a Mac. See Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.160.

  • I just bought a macbook air and I can't open any of my downloaded apps in itunes

I just bought a macbook air and I can't open any of my downloaded apps in itunes. They also keep trying to download to my iphone 4 s but only half of them will download, the others say waiting. thanks.

iOS apps will not open in iTunes. iTunes will sync your downloaded apps to your iOS devices (iPhone or iPad) only.
    1. Login into your iTunes account
    2. Authorize your Macbook Air
    3. Download all your purchased apps to iTunes
    4. Sync with your iPhone.

  • I just bought the MacBook Air and tried to transfer my songs from my external hard drive to my mac. now i cannot open iTunes and it said that the file cannot be found or created.

i just bought a macbook air. ive been transfering all my songs from my external harddrive that i had on my previous laptop for itunes. now that i got them transfered. my itunes wont open. it says "the itunes library file cannot be found or created. the default location for this file is in the itunes folder in the music folder." what do i do!?!

How did you move the music?  You have to do it in a specific way:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
do not confuse moving your whole folder and library with moving just media files as in
iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Media folder - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1449
Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the whole iTunes folder and all its subfolders and files intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

  • Just bought a MacBook Air and it won't connect to wifi. Any ideas??

I have a new MacBook Air and am trying to set everything up but it won't connect to my wifi connection at home. Password is correct, have double checked everything. Even tried using a personal hotspot through my iPhone but that doesn't work either.
    Not sure what to do.
    Any help??
    Thanks :)

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

  • I just bought a Macbook Air 2 months ago, turns out they sold me a 2011 instead of 2012! What can I do?

I am brand new to purchasing Mac computers, and pretty much was duped from the start. I purchased a "new" Macbook Air and was so excited. It's pretty much had huge issues from the start. I did some reading and found out all 2011 models have this issue and the 2012's don't. Turns out my model actually isn't a 2012 it is a mid 2011. I don't understand, for the 1st time yesterday I saw a 2012 model and it is completely different!
What can I possibly do? I am so upset that I didn't get a 2012 model with USB3 when it was clearly already out and the same price...

Speak with the vendor. You have 14 days from purchase to make a change.

  • Does Apple discount existing MacBooks when the new ones come out?

I haven't bought a Mac in over 10 years and I don't how Apple does business. I want a new MacBook Pro, but I'm not in a super-rush. I can wait another three months, if necessary.
The current MacBook Pro (top of the line) is more than sufficient for me, it's just a little expensive. I certainly don't need whatever's coming next, but the current 17" is mighty attractive.
When Apple releases the new MacBook Pro's ... (1st quarter 2010, right?) ... do the existing high-end 2009 models usually sell at a big discount to get rid of the current inventory? You know ... (like car guys say) ... blowing out last years models to make room for the 2010's?
Is that the cheapest time to buy the previous model? When Apple releases the newest ones?

There is no "blow-out sale" when the new models come out, at least through Apple. Apple generally keeps a very tight inventory (only a few days worth evidently) on hand, so when new models are about to be released, they are pretty low on inventory of the existing model. In fact, when new models are up for sale through Apple, the older ones disappear from their website/stores.
Some 3rd party resellers may have discounts on older models, but they too are usually not of the "huge sale" type. A 10% discount is usually pretty generous.
Other options are to buy a refurbished machine through Apple's website (cheapest option), or if you're a student, faculty, or staff member of an academic institution, take advantage of the student discount (also around 10%)

  • I just bought a Macbook Air and there was OpenOffice, gone!

Are they not including it now? If I upgrade my iMac to Mountain Lion will I no longer be able to work with the many documents I have in  .odt format?
    Andrew

Open office is an open source free program downloadable from the internet.
You can download it free from its website: http://www.openoffice.org/
Or you can download a better version (its a modification of openoffice) here: http://www.libreoffice.org/
Also, if you want an openoffice modification made specifically for macs: http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php
I don't think apple has ever included it in its computers, though.
