Just bought a macbook, but still use a PC...can my Ipod work between both?

So I just bought a macbook pro...probably the smartest move of my life. I have an Ipod formatted for windows because I use it on my PC and my girlfriends PC; however, I would like to be able to use it on my macbook as well. Is this possible?
Thanks for any help, and sorry if this question has been asked.

Macs can read Windows formatting so you should have no problem connecting your iPod to your Macbook. Strictly speaking using a Windows formatted iPod on a Mac isn't supported, Apple currently only supports using the iPod shuffle in FAT32 format on Mac. What this means effectively is that if you need to apply a firmware update for your iPod and you wanted to maintain the Windows format you would have to do it on a PC. If you were to try and update a Windows based iPod on a Mac it would be restored and reformatted to the Mac file system and have the Mac firmware installed. An iPod formatted for Mac won't run natively on a PC because Windows operating systems don't recognize Mac OS-formatted disks (HFS or HFS Plus formats)
