Just bought a new iPad, and my highlights and bookmarks will not sync to it through iBooks.

Hey, I just bought the third-generation iPad. I have been reading on the iPad 2 for a year now, and have hundreds of books in my library. Because I'm such an intense reader, and value my highlights, it upset me when I bought the new iPad, synced it to iTunes, and then highlights and bookmarks were not transferred to the new iPad. The books were all out of order when they synced, and I had to rearrange them, but they were in the correct collections. This was my first hint that something was wrong. Next, when I opened my books, I could not find a single highlight in any of them. I checked all the books on my iPad 2 and they're fine as usual, everything is how I left it, including my bookmarks and highlights, and I even went into settings and made sure sync bookmarks was on on both iPads. I am completely confused and frustrated. I even put my new iPad into DFU mode and tried to re-sync everything, nothing is working. They just won't sync. Could someone please help me out, this means a lot to me. Also: is anyone noticing that the multitouch is slightly off with the new iPad? I'll go to tap dictation or drag an icon to another page, and it's just not that responsive. a few times I have clicked the dictation button but I gotten a space in instead. It seems you just have to press harder almost. Lastly, my 30 pin seems to be a little tight. I put a standard 30 pin sync cord that came with my original iPad 2 and iPhone 4 into the 30 pin and I almost had to jam it into the 30 pin slot. I work with iDevices all day long and have never had one that needed to be jammed in before. It doesn't seem good for the iPad. Yes, I am borderline about to return it, but the screen just looks so much clearer, I can't go back to my iPad 2. Wow, again I pressed the dictation button and the spacebar activated instead. If anyone can figure out this whole iBook situation so I can get my bookmarks and my highlights back, I would really appreciate it!

I also tried manually underlining a few things on the new iPad and when highlighting a paragraph, it would skip a few lines and the line would go through a few as well. Looks like a major iBooks glitch needs to be addressed here.

Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. Purchase a used Mac that will run Snow Leopard (with the optional Rosetta installed) and continue to run FCE on that Mac (you can actually use Screen Sharing with a "headless" used Snow Leopard Mac Mini and use the 27" screen from your iMac to view and work FCE in the Mac Mini environment);
2. Upgrade to an Intel compatible version of FCE and hope it converts your existing projects to its newer format correctly. There is much debate that the newer version of Final Cut are eliminating many needed features; for example Final Cut Pro X vs. Final Cut Pro 6 -- many users are staying with version 6;
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels and then install FCE in the Snow Leopard environment:

Best route here is to uninstall iTunes completely using the Windows Control Panel.
Make sure you know exactly which version of Win 7 you're running.
Restart your computer from cold (with no iTunes).
Go to Apple website and download the correct version for your operating system. Install following Apple prompts.
Once installed, close iTunes.
Restart your computer from cold (with new iTunes).
Start iTunes - all should be operating well! Good luck ...

It entirely depends on your needs. The top players (AVPlayerHD / ProPlayer, It's Playing, GoodPlayer) all have different strengths and weaknesses. I myself use It's Playing the most as I convert everything into MP4 and simply love the DSP's (brightness / volume / saturation boosting). (Its software decoders are definitely worse than those of AVPlayerHD / ProPlayer; however, MP4's are played back from hardware.)

I cannot pay for anything from itunes, I get a message saying I need to verify my account details... I continue to do so but I get a message say my payment method has been denied... Good morning, I installed ios6 on the new iPad and siri will not work. Each time I try to use siri she says "uh oh, I'm having a problem. Please try again. I have tried turning siri off and back on again. Resetting the iPad, resetting the network, turning Airplane Mode off and on again. All to know avail. My iphone 5 works great and so does my wife's iphone 4s with ios6. I have called Apple support but there only suggestion was that the servers were busy. If that was the case my other devices would not work either. Plus the servers wouldn't be busy for four days. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I was looking forward to using siri on the new iPad and other folks don't seem to be having a problem.

Then you need to change your device details as this still says iPad2.
It's very possible Apple's servers have been busy for 4 days as not everyone downloaded iOS 6 on the day it was announced. I downloaded it last Friday, myself, as an example.
There are a millions and millions of people using Apple iDevices.
Just because everything went fine with the iOS 6 updates of your iPhone 4 and 5 doesn't mean something couldn't have gone wrong with an update to your iPad3
If the iOS update missed something during the download, I am not sure how to go about re-downloading iOS 6 to fix the issue you are having.

As long as you have two apple routers then it is up to you which way you do it.
You can connect them by ethernet and use it setup as roaming network.. for wireless.. it will simply be bridged on the router side. Ethernet is much the faster solution.
But if you want to use wireless link that is also fine if the range is not too great. Then ethernet to the computer.. so you effectively have a wireless bridge...

Where the more solid lines are ethernet.. that is possible setup. And using the TC directly on ethernet to the computer will keep your backup speed good while also giving you hopefully your full internet speed so that works well.

If you have already set up the iPad and activated it - You have to restore from the iCloud backup which entails totally erasing the device and then setting it up again from the iCloud backup.

itunes used to be able to too when I right clicked incompatible media but don't see the option any more
