Just bought Galaxy S5 today (no contract) - when is the Dev Edition coming?
I really wanted to buy a Nexus S5, which does have the Verizon bands, but is "not allowed" on the Verizon network.
So, I settled for the Samsung S5, which is great so far. I bought it outright - for $600. But I'm a developer and I like to mod my phone and flash various OS's on it. So I'm frustrated to find out that the bootloader is locked and that if I do load a custom bootloader, I may void the warranty.
When is the Dev Edition of this device coming? I see news articles that vaguely say "soon". Does anyone know for sure? Can you provide me with a general idea?
Maybe when VZW has a pure 4G/lte service without the old legacy 3G/1X Google will want to deal with VZW as Google is letting VZW put their service on the NEXUS 7 tablet. I know I will not buy a VZW tablet. I learned a valuable lesson when I purchased the Samsung i815 7.7 tablet VZW never supported updating the OS on that tablet. I finally sent it to Samsung and when it came back they had updated it to ICS. The tablet kept saying it wanted to update and it would download the update and then try to update but it would always fail. VZW had many complaints about this same thing but VZW never fixed the issue and afaik that issue has never been fixed. I read a recent thread on here about a week ago and I just replied to the guy and told him what I did to get the tablet updated to ICS. Anyway after I got Samsung to update my tablet I sold it on Swappa.com and I will never buy another VZW tablet. I purchase the NEXUS line of tablets now any tether via Wifi to my phone and not worry about the overages on my phone data. I have yet to have an issue with my NEXUS 10. Great tablet. Just wish NEXUS line would have SD Slot.

Is the iPod that connects an iPod touch? If not that does not mean anything since iOS devices like iPod touch, iPhone and iPad use different drivers than other iPods. -
I need to change the home folder name. I just bought this mac today and my cousin put his name in because he had to back up his phone while we were still at the store so he could get a new phone and now my brand new imac says his name in the home folder. This is very frustrating. I would not have let him put his name in there if I didn't think you could change it. Someone please help!
Delete his user account and create your own, using your name.

I just bought an IMac today and found on "about this IMac" that it is of late 2013.
1. Does anyone knows if 2013 refers to the release or production year?
2. I use an enclosed HD from my old IMac for the set up, upon completion, only my documents and calendar are transferred, emails, Imessages, stickies, notes, music and photos are not. From what I understand EVERYTHING can be transferred, am I right? If I am right, can I re do the set up process again ? And how?
ThanksOn Q2, simply connect the EHD to the new machine and you can drag and drop. If the EHD is a backup HD (Time Machine or a Clone) then you can use Migration Assistant to migrate the data over. Also open the Mac App Store and update the new iMac, 10.1.1 is out of date now. Update it to 10.10.3 and install any other recommended updates. You should check for updates at least once a month and install all recommended updates.

I have an old IPID touch and just bought a anew Nano. If I downoload the latest version of Itunes for my Nano, will I lose all of my osns stored in my old version of Itunes and can I still use my Touch (with my current songs on it) with the new version of Itunes? In the past when I downloaded a new version, I lost my songs on my Touch. Thank you for any help any one might offer.

Just bought a brand new iphone 5. But the battery doesnt even last. I have changed all the location services n all. Still it doesnt last even half day. And the usage isnt heavy. My wife is using it, so it doesnt have a heavy usage. Tried every thing.
Gidday, I had the same problem when I bought my iPhone 5. If you drain the battery right down to nothing until it is completely flat and then recharge it 100%, drain it again, and fully charge it you should be good to go.

I want to make a TimeMachine backup in a new hard-drive I just bought. It says it has to erase the info but as the drive is new there's no info in it, so what it is going to be erased?
I had to format it after I bought it so that it could work with windows and Mac and I'm afraid that if I erase the info in the hard-drive, the format will also change. Is that possible to happen? Or the format will stay the same?

Maybe you need another drive. I would never have only one backup and one "live" data set.
you probably installed something, whether it is current or well supported or not, that came with the drive to allow writing to NTFS.
TimeMachine has to use HFS only and use Apple GPT (GUID) format.
sometimes erase changes a drive to GUID when you click on the raw hard drive name in Disk Utility. other times you can erase a volume and leave the partition format type as is. The wording use to be clearer when people knew when and how to initialize, format and setup a drive. And sometimes a message on the screen says it will be only launches Disk Utility and not to the PARTITION tab to make changes.
In addition to TimeMachine, having a clone of your system or data or both can be very useful as well. Drives fail.
And with a MacBook Air you probably have a smallish internal hard drive and might need to store media files and data on another drive to supplement the internal SSD. -

From reading on the internet, it appears that when there is a spike in memory usage, AVG "interprets" that as a memory leak, possibly caused by malware. AVG could be incorrect concerning that assumption. Maybe they are being a bit too conservative about memory usage; just my opinion.
The decision is yours to turn off the "advisor" or leave it on.

Just bought a refurbished ipod nano g1, wont charge the batteries
Just bought a refurbished ipod nano g1, when trying to start it up for the first time, sometimes the apple logo will pop up and stay there for hours and wont let me register my ipod in itunes and other times it will just be a blank screen.
Tried the 5 R when the apple logo popped up, however when i did the "menu and centre button move, but the screen will shut off and wont start up again.
Faulty hardware?There should be an option (on the left hand side of your iTunes) for your iPod. Then when you click on it you will just need to setup and there will be an option to sync at the bottom right hand corner

Just bought an iPhone 5s, as I turned on the phone it showed 71% of battery, I drained it to 15% and next charged it for 3 and a half hours to fully charge. Did I do any mistake ? Should have I let it to get discharged in order to fully charge it ? Somebody told me I should have let it discharged and then to fully charge, but I didn't do it, my iphone is working very well, the battery too but I'm worried if the battery lifespan is gonna get worsen soon if I didn't abide by the rules and procedures of battery charging.
I had problems on my previous iPhone 4s, it died because I didn't replaced the battery with a new one because my battery never worked well and I never knew it , the battery used to overheat my iPhone and it caused to damage my processor completely to death. Who does the replacement of the iphone processor? I need help how to maintain with the iphone battery. And also let me know if I did something wrong that I should get worried about or not ?!?!Apple does not fix the iPhone 4S, they replace the phone. If not covered by warranty, called an out of warranty exchange. Cost is US $199. Make an appointment at any Apple store.

I have an Apple Power Mac G5 Dual 2.3 GHz/6GB RAM/500GB HDD/Superdrive PowerPC Desktop and just bought an Airport Extreme card for it. The card is recognized but will not see the in-house network. This is a pre-intel computer. Do I need an additional antennae? If so, which one because my research is confusing me about what is supposed to work with this computer.
