Just bought Ipod Touch. Do I need to pay for 2.0?
I just bought my Ipod Touch today thinking that since I am buying it after Rel 2.0 has been released, it should be included with it. However, when registering it, it still asks me if I want to upgrade/buy Rel. 2.0. Should it not be included with the new purchase?

The pages on Apple’s website for the iPod Touch, and in the Apple store, don’t seem to mention which firmware version is on the Touch.

I just bought iPod touch 8GB put it in iTune and it show only 34Mb available. and it been use up 6.2GB show from the iTune Summery as "OTHER 6.2 GB" so I don't have enoght space to sync any much application for my kids. So either you bought this second hand and it had someone else's stuff on it, or you were unlucky and the first Sync of your iPod to iTunes resulted in a lot of "Other".
Conect the iPod to iTunes and on the Device/Summary pane (tab) look for and select the Restore button. -

Both Future Shop and Best Buy Canada advertised 8/16 & 32GB iPod Touch as i.e. - "iPod touch 16GB v2" on their websites, and their fliers. I purchased my touch 3 weeks ago, so I found the "version 2's" confusing. Both retailers have removed the v2 reference from their websites and changed it to "Jan 2008 Update" (whatever that means) but I have a flier in front of me to prove the "v2" advertising. My screen is cracked, there is a black spot on the actual screen itself on the bottom left corner, an the headphone jack doesn't seem to take different headphones....

However, the broken screen is not covered by the warranty and voids the warranty for the entire iPod.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

I just bought my 10 year old autistic daughter an IPOD touch that she needs to take to school with just the music (no apps) on it but she also also has an IPAD mini for home that is fullly loaded with apps. The last time I tried to connect 2 devices to Itunes I ended up loosing my own music library so I am a bit hesitant to start setting up this new IPOD touch with outsome help. Anyone have any ideas on how I set up Itunes to make this work and not loose her IPAD apps and media?

You can only use apps that are compatible with your dvice and ios version.
The secons gen ipod touch can only go to 4.2.1.
If you are running 4.2.1 then you can only use apps that require 4.2.1 or lower. -
Recently purchased my first Apple product (ipod touch) and am needing to know how to transfer music from other ipods and other itunes accounts. Can this be done? Ipod touch 4th gen needed a new screen and sleep/wake switch. So, I replace them. I was able to get to settings and do "erase all content and settings". I am not able to totally shut this device off as it keeps restarting after a few seconds. I have used itunes to restore and also recover. Device will actually shut off and stay shut off if I leave it connected to the computer. The moment I unplug (3 seconds) the apple logo appears, it boots, unlock screen appears, I can unlock and operate normally, unplugged or not. Just cant get it to completely shut down unplugged. Any thoughts?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem. Maybe you installed a bad component or damaged something during the repair/replacement.
Apple will not help since you worked on the iPod yourself. -

No, you should have Restrictions OFF.
Computer's iTunes > Preferences > Parental Preferences > everything should be unchecked.
Are the songs also on computer's iTunes?
