Just bought my Imac a week ago and found out the 23" is coming next week?!

I was wondering what the return policy is as I would rather have the new 23" IMAC. If I would have known they had it coming out I would have just waited.
Ideas? Suggestions?

Hello,
Generally, you can return the Apple computers within 14-days of their original purchase date.
This applies only to machines that have not been customized / built-to-order. So, if you ordered the machine with more memory than it would normally come with, or you got the machine with 256 MB of video RAM, or you got it with a larger hard drive, or any other alteration to the standard configuration, then you are not able to return it for any reason (other than warranty repair).
Also, understand that there is a 10% re-stocking fee. And, you can only return it to your place of purchase. So, if you purchased it at Apple's online store, then you will need to ship it back (be sure to call first for a Return Authorization Number).
Also, understand that the 14-day return period began when you purchased the machine. Not when you received it. So, if you ordered it online or directly from Apple, then your 14-day trial period began as soon as you placed the order. So, shipping time is just lost time in the 14-day period.
As for the 23-inch machine, that is just a rumor at this point.
There is no evidence that a 23-inch machine is coming. But, the rumor sites are generally right about 75% of the time. But, they've been continually wrong now for more than a year on topics such as iPods, iPod phones, and even speculation about a palm-held / tablet computer.
So, generally, the rumor sites should be considered educated guesses. Not 100% reliable information.
That doesn't mean that a new 23-inch computer will not arrive. But, it also doesn't mean one will. All any of us can do is wait and see what Apple releases.
If you want to play the waiting game, then go ahead and return the computer you have, pay the re-stocking fee, and any shipping fees that apply, and then wait and see what happens.
You can be generally assured that at some near point in time, that Apple will be upgrading the iMac systems. But, what those specific changes will be is purely guesswork and educated guesses at this point.
I hope this helps.

  • Just bought Logic 8 ....and found out 9 is now out

Hi all ! . Sorry to go over old ground (as Im sure this questions has been asked on here already) , but Ive only just made the change from PC to Mac so a little bit behind with thing's.
I got and iMac 2 weeks ago and bought Logic Studio 8 at the same time . Ive not even used Logic really yet , and I found out last week that 9 is now out ! .
Would I now have to pay full price for V9 or would I be able to get an uprade of some sort due to me only just buying it ? (apologies if that sounds a little naive) .
Is the difference that big even ?
    Any help would be cool
    Cheers
    Dave

    Helllo Dave,
Same thing here. Got it 2 weeks ago and now there is Logic 9. It looks like we have to upgrade to Logic 9 * £ 159 extra *. I`m not upgrading just yet. I`m using ableton live8 as well so i shall see which one`s better

You'll certainly need a new logic board.
If I were you, I would take the machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them evaluate the problems and give you an estimate for repair. If you're out of warranty, be prepared to pay a very high price to get your computer repaired.
    Good luck,

  • Just bought new iMac. When browsing in Safari, sometimes the text suddenly gets super large. I'm doing nothing except reading the screen, tho I have my hand on the mouse. I can get back to normal size by clicking "actual size" in View. What gives?

Just bought brand new new iMac. When browsing in Safari, sometimes the text suddenly gets super large. I'm doing nothing except reading the screen, tho I usually have my hand resting lightly on the mouse. I can get back to normal size by clicking "actual size" in View. But then it does it again a minute or two later. What gives? Something seems defective--but what?

From System Preferences, Mouse, Point & Click, Secondary click.  Go to it hover over Secondary click and watch the short video sequence change it left right, left right, you will see exactly what is does. No I do not think your Mouse is defective, you simply need to take control of your Mouse finger.

  • I downloaded iOS7 a few weeks ago and now have the No Sim message. Can not access AT

So I downloaded iOS7 a few weeks ago on my iPad2 and now have the No Sim messege. I can not access my AT&T 3G account from the systems as it is greyed out.  What can I do to fix it ?

    Hey robbeef,
Even though these troubleshooting steps are centered around the iPhone, they address the "Invalid SIM" or "No SIM Card installed" or "No SIM" alert messages and should apply to your iPad. I'd run through them and see if that helps:
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Toggle Airplane mode On and Off.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
Remove the SIM Card and verify that it is a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it is not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you still are unable to resolve this issue, contact Apple support for further assistance.

  • Hello, I just bought my mac four months ago, and I am starting to have problems with it. It take about 3 mins to turn on, and its very slow. I have mac keeper and every week I scan it. Also I donot go to any bad websites, I just this computer for work.

Can somone help me with this problem

Restore it back to how it was when bought.
Backup (THAT is the #1 step to clean and good running) your data and personal stuff, and keep your system updated.
Don't install without research and reading. Don't install or use torrents etc.
Use good judgement. I'd say common sense but that is sometimes uncommon.
Probably when people get their disk down to less than 20% free is when the disk drive has trouble, and even new faster SSDs also or even more so need 20% free space to function.
Take it in - my Mac is 7 yrs old, these things take 20 seconds to "turn on" and be back where it was. Waking from sleep even faster.
Something is not normal or right if hitting power to boot or wake should be very fast.
Unplug everything you don't need to and make sure that the System Preferences: Startup Disk is set to your disk drive and not say a network interface. Printers and other devices unplug and remove for now.
Learn to use Recovery Mode. Disk Utility from there, to repair your disk drive.
Add some web sites to your reading list that deal with the Mac OS - I started decade ago with
http://www.macsurfer.com which was a master list of sites and headlines and then found a few that provided the best in ideas, news and troubleshooting advice and for what was happening in Apple world.

  • I have just purchased an Imac 3 days ago, and my brother must of shook the computer, and or touch something on the keyboard and the screen went black? any advice?

    #screengoesblack #sleepmode

Have you tried powering it off and on again? You can also unplug it, wait for a few mins and plug it in again then try it.
If that fails and as it is brand new you should contact Apple and arrange to have to looked at.

  • I just bought a new album in itunes and accidently deleted the first track. when i go to redownload it from my cloud or purchases it tells me that the item cant be redownloaded on this device for 90 days?

i have two itunes accounts but i only use one to buy music. while on the account that i use for music, i bought a new album last night. i bought the album with my 5th gen ipod. after the album was done downloading i accidently side swiped over the first track and deleted it. when i went back to redownload the track the message "this computer is already associated with an apple id. you can download past purchases on this computer with just one apple id every 90 days. this computer can be used with a different apple id in 81 days." i do not understand why i cant redownload something i just purchased. please help.

Unfrotunately, this sounds like a dead TC.
    - also, the picture does NOT pick up the 2 airport expressess in the house that I used to extend the wirelass network on the previous TC
    - there is no option to extend the wireless network
You need to reconfigure the Expresses to rejoin the TC's network via a factory reset.

Hi my mum has given me a lovely iPhone 4s ..... Not knowing I had one , can she take it back ? It's sealed BUT she bought it 5 weeks ago and no receipt

If the vendor won't take it back, put it on eBay or Craig's List.

    Anyone having the same problem?

Makes no difference if anyone is having the same problem.  The important thing is that it's happening to YOU!
You have 14 days to return the computer w/no questions asked.
Strongly suggest that you take FULL advantage of the above before it runs out.  Let Apple deal w/the problems.

  • I just bought a new Macbook air 3 weeks ago and now there is out a newer model

I just bought a new Macbook air 3 weeks ago here in Thailand and found out that since 3 days the new ones where lunched. is there a chance to get the new one for no charge? it happend to me with the iphone in the US before and apple changed it to the new model for no charge. But does this service work for Thailand too??

After 3 weeks, probably not, but it's up to you to at least try.  If you purchased your computer through Apple's online store in Thailand, there's a phone number you can call.  If you purchased the product through a premium reseller (iStudio, for example), you should take it back to the store.  If you purchased it from a dodgy storefront in Pantip Plaza, or MBK, you can always ask...but, I'm guessing that they won't help.

  • Bought iMac.  3 weeks ago and now new version is out! Is there anything I can do?

Bought iMac.  3 weeks ago and now new version is out! Is there anything I can do? Is there a cooling off period as this new product is an i5 faster processor. Etc

I'm hearing there is a new model out of my Singer sewing machine. Should I replace it?
(I really do own and use this one. Amazing example of 20th Century mechanical engineering. Sews through leather and almost anything; does what I need, but it's missing the Thunderbolt option. Too bad, no computer will serve its function this long.)
