Just bought new Ipod - and music won't sync. what's wrong?
I just bought the ipod nano - nothing is synching at all. Not sure what to do.
when i click it or try to move it to my ipod it says the file could not be located...would i like to locate it? so what's that all about?
Exactly what is says. Basically each song has an attribute/piece of metadata, that holds the track's location on your computer. If it can't find it there, it puts a small explanation point next to it in iTunes.
This script may be able to help. You are going to need to search for these tracks and either place them in the proper location already specified in iTunes or re-import them and delete the missing entry.

The last time I synced my iphone to itunes, I lost all my contact info, photos, calendar, and voice memos. This time I still have them, but I lost all the apps I had downloaded. Also, I just bought an ipad, and itunes does not recognize it.
Re: That garbage is unreadable.
If you really want help, stop messing with the fonts and post so that others can read and offer suggestions.
Or better yet... try a search, I'm certain you'll find a solution to whatever issue you're experiencing.
I have found that many times it is the things that make you most angry that push you to action. This was the case here. Thank you for causing me to get so angry that I found the answer myself. -
Just bought an iTouch and it won't sync :(
So I got an iTouch today and it's taken me all day to install iTunes.
First I had to clear my registry, then I downloaded the wrong iTunes for my PC, and now I've finally gotten the right iTunes version, the latest one, I might add and converted my library from my old Zune player.
But now my iTouch won't synce. My computer recognizes the device, the apple mobile device is on, but the device does not show up on my iTunes. I'm tempted to do a system restore from before I started downloading iTunes and starting over.
I've checked the troubleshooting page and literally done every step. Help!Okay, update on the situation:
Apparently it's my Microsoft Windows 7 computer because the right updates aren't installed or something like that. -
Software update 2.0 bricked my iPod and it won't restore, what is wrong?
OK, I did a fresh restore this morning to remove Jailbreak from my iPod. That worked fine and everything was perfect.
And I got home tonight and plugged in my iPod and it immediately told me that I could buy version 2.0, so I went ahead and bought it. After it downloaded it installed, it was hung on the "Preparing your iPod for software restore" for over an hour, it only took 30 seconds on this step before. So I unplugged it. When I put it into restore mode to try installign it again, it says it can't restore my iPod for an unknown reason.
Now what? But this morning I did a full restore with version 1.1.4 and it took the Jailbreak off, because I was only using one application from it and the new App Store has a even better app.
So when I bought the update there was no Jailbreak on it. It still somehow can "tell" it was there? Isen't that what a restore is supposed to do "restore to factory settings"? -

If you are still having trouble, post what is happening and what you have tried to do. Include your computer operating system, model of phone, version of iTunes -
I have just brought a new ipod and it won't work with my old imac as it is running pre 10.5 software. I can't upgrade the software, so what should I do?
There is nothing to do, unless you buy a new computer.
Mac OS 10.5.8 or later is required. -
Hi everyone,
I have just bought new Ipod touch 32 GB and upgraded to 5.0.1 and it it worse now my battery doesn't last for more then two hour.
what should i do? it is seriously big problem.
Please help me.......This is a general comment, not directed to anyone, and not to be taken personally by anyone. This ongoing screw up with the new upgrade (5.0.1) is getting to be a **** SHAME. In no way can APPLE or anyone else for that matter not know by now that the upgrade is terribly flawed. The Ipod machines themselves are super great products, and I enjoy mine to the max. However the upgrade once applied ruins it. And at least, not to my current knowledge, there haven't been any fixes forcoming.
In my opinion Apple should own up to that fact and warn folks that, even though the upgrade was presented with the best intentions, IT JUST AIN"T WORKING. And not to download it until further notice. This noticication could be done through the retail sales outlet, online, what ever.
I liken this to a pharmaceutical coming out with a new vaccine, encourage everyone to use it, then discover it's bad to the degree it causes it uses to become sick. Rather then pull the vaccine they keep on allowing unsuspecting ones to continue to vaccinate, and become sick. What a shame!

Just bought new iphone4. How do I sync my apps/books/music with my ipad2??
Sounds like you don't meet the system requirement for either the iPhone or iPad and/or have not updated your iTunes.

My Ipod was originally set up as a sub-account of a firends. After that, I got an Iphone and set up my own Apple account. I just got a new Ipod, and now can't sync my old Itunes to it. Can anyone help me? I'm even OK with deleting the old Itunes account, and staring over. I just really want to get the new Ipod under my own account, and be able to use it...
There is no such thing as a "sub-account." Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account." Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases. iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account). You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying. You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend. Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library. Is that on a different computer? How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod. What is your "old iTunes"? Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend? -
Just bought new iPod touch. When I connect to computer to sync it tells me "iTunes could not connect to this iPod touch. Could not send a message to device." Not sure if it is b/c of an older version of iTunes but connecting via wifi sync unacceptable
What version of iTunes is on the computer? You need at least 11.4.

I just bought a nano and am trying to sync to itune on my mac. It tells me I need the latest version of itune. When I try to download this it tells me I need a new OS. I have updated both and my nano still will not sync. Any suggestions?
Numbers documents from iOS need Numbers 3.2 on a Mac to open. And Numbers 3.2 requires Mavericks. If you are using Mavericks you can get Numbers 3.2 from the Mac App Store. It will be free IF you have Numbers 2 (iWork '09) installed. Otherwise you must buy it.
Your other option is to send the Numbers file as an Excel file via e-mail to yourself to open with an earlier version of Numbers. -
I just bought new computer and redownloaded itunes. Will it erase everything on my iphone when plug into the new computer?
Yes, it will.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -
I have just bought new ipad and have icloud but my photos haven't transferred across to my iphone 4, not even one I took yesterday on the ipad. What am I doing wrong?
What do you mean by copy? I thought the i cloud did that automatically for you. That's what I don't understand.
