Just cant connect wireless wrt54g2

i just cant get the wireless to work.
and when i try the software we get the following....

Wireless Settings
Click on the Wireless tab on the Setup page- Here Wireless Network mode
should be mixed- Provide any non linksys network name ....
Name (SSID) box- Set wireless channel to 11- And wireless SSID
broadcast should be Enabled and then click on "Save Settings" >>Now
Click on the Sub tab under wireless > "Wireless Security" Change the
Wireless security mode to "WEP"...and put a 10 have a note of the key ... click save settings ...
Click on Advanced Wireless
settings>>Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation
Threshold to 2304 Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"
On your wireless Computer...Selected the network.... type the right security key.... and you will be able to go online.

Is the status light green?
Your Airport device may be in Bridge Mode.
Airport Utility 6:
Open Airport Utility, select the Airport Express and click Edit. Navigate to the Network tab and change Router Mode to DHCP and NAT. Then click Update on the bottom right.
Airport Utility 5:
Open Airport Utility and click Manual Setup. Navigate to the Internet icon and change Connection Sharing to Share a Public IP Address. Then click Update on the bottom right.

Cant connect wirelessly to internet after installing iphoto 9.2.1

I recently upgraede my system to 10.6.8. Today I downloaded and installed iPhoto 9.2.1 (going from 6.0.6). Now I cant connect to the internet wirelessly. Ethernet works. Could these actions have something to do with causing this problem?

Probsbly good to post in the OS forum along with the error message when it failes to connect
Is this failure only from iPhoto or from all software on teh Mac?

WRT400n cant connect wireless to pc

First time connecting a router ,I installed it made it through all the checks using the advisor,when i clicked go wireless took forever to get the network address and when it said you are connected i unplugged the ehternet cable and lost the connection now it tells me it cant connect to the router? I have vista on one pc ,router is about 35 feet from laptop in one story apartment ,any help would be appreciated

WRT1020N cant connect wireless

Hi
Brought this new router yesterday after my old linksys was playing up. I set it up on my pc using a wired connection. PS3 upstairs was able to connect to router wirelessly but my laptop cannot.
It recognises that the router is in range with full signal strength but everytime I click connect it just wont connect. It doesnt give any error message, just after 40 seconds it times out and stops trying to connect.
I took all security settings off the router but still nothing, Any help please?

What is the operating system on your laptop?
Remove all the preferred wireless networks from the laptop.
Open the setup page of the router on the wired computer.
Go to the wireless tab and set the configuration view to manual.
Create a new wireless network. Change the SSID and set the wireless channel to 11.
Go to the wireless security sub tab and change the security settings.
Go to Wireless MAC filter sub tab and make sure that it is disabled.
Go to advanced wireless settings. Change the Beacon Interval to 75, RTS threshold to 2307, Fragmentation threshold to 2306. Try to connect to the new wireless network on your laptop.

I can't find my wireless adapter in the device manager. cant connect wirelessly

I can connect to the internet using my ethernet cable but i can't connect wirelessly anymore. I restored my system using the restore disks but I still can't connect. I looked in the device manager and I don't see the wireless card. how can I get it reinstalled? I'm getting the following errors:
local area connection is experiencing driver or hardware related problems.
Local Area Connection adapter is not working properly
What can I do to fix this? I've tried a lot of things but not much progress.

Learn How to Post and More. I see that your wireless adator on your computer is not visible in the device manager, and I would be happy to assist you!
To begin, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless adaptor's driver software. To do this, please follow this document on Uninstalling Software (Windows 7). The next step will be to re-install the driver by downloading the Original NVIDIA Networking Controller Driver. If the issue persists, I recommend following this document on Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7). This should help determine if there is a hardware issue.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

Cant connect wireless!

New to the forum, and I probably know you guys have seen, read, or already answered this, but whenever I try to connect wireless, it doesnt do anything. And im going to describe everthing that i see, I got an acer computer and whenever i bring up my acer enet management, and go to see what networks i can see, of course i see my and it reads; the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. thats it on that. and on the quick list it shows my router name with a icon of a padlock and a G. Im new at this, and its probably gonna be something simple but ill appreciate if somebody helps out, thanks!!!

If you see your Network name it will either say secured, unsecured, or connected next to the name. you should also see your signal strenght between good and excellent ( 1 bar to 5 bar depending on system).
I reread your original message. Padlock means that it is secured and you are on the G router.
You will have to log on to your router and manually copy the info in each box under wireless connection and wireless security.
You will then go to your wireless management and right click on your network name then click on properties. You will input the info copied from your router into each boxes

Cant connect wireless access to harddisc

Hey. I have a problem when i try to connect my Samsung story station 3.0 external hard drive. I wAnt to connect it to my airport extreme so it Can be accessed wireless. I have done all setup. I have set it to share by wan. I can find it when I click into my base station. But I can't get into it. And no matter what I do I can't find the external drive in my finder. What have I done wrong?

Hi, I'm having the same issue with my seagate external hd but I have a couple of more questions... if you can help me I'd really appreciate..
I just bought a new 2011 mac air and a new airport extreme and I connected my old seagate external hd. It is formatted in NTFS and I could, eventually, re-format the hd in Mac OS Extended but I also work with a pc and so my wife... I'm assuming that if I format the hd in Mac OS Extended I won't be able to use it with the pc. Am I correct? Unfortunately I need an hd connected to my airport that works with BOTH the computers...
Any solution??
A frind me suggested me to try a software called NTFS 3G that should enable my mac air to see the hd connected to the airport...
Has anyone ever tried this solution?
Otherwise, does exist a router that allows me to connect an external hd without having this compatibility issues, so I can read, modify and back up my files at home from both pc and mac??

Cant connect wireless to Westell wireless modem/router

Im pretty sure its the fact that the imac uses N and the router doesnt broadcast to N, but even still i know that wireless N is backwards compatible and can connect through B and G. So Im trying to figure out how I could go about changing the airports configuration so that it would run as a G or B instead of an N or if thats not possible. If its not possible I need to know what my options are. Thanks guys.

It would help to know what operating system and router. Nevertheless, let's try this:
If Windows, go to Control Panel > Printers and delete all instances of thsi printer.
Next, go to Start > All Programs > HP > [your printer model] > Add a Device. Follow the instructions. Make sure a USB cable is NOT connected when you start this process. The software will ask you to connect a USB cable during the re-installation.

Cant print wirelessly after getting new router

Hi,
I cant connect wirelessly. After I uninstalled then reinstalled using the hp set up assistant I downloaded from this site, I get asked ito check a box f I want to connect wirelessly.
I check the box. It asks me to connect via USB. I am connected via USB. I disconnect then reconnect. It asks me to enter my wireless network name. I do that but it says the device isnt connected and that I should connect via USB. I disconnect the USB and connect it to another USB port and it still doesnt work.
I shut down the computer, disconnect the printer, and reset the router. I turn on the computer then reconnect the printer and launch again the set up assistant. It still cant discover the WiFi. I go to my system preferences and open up Print & Fax. I see the printer there. I delete it. When I add again finally I see a place to enter an ip address. I add that and now I see a generic printer with the ip address. I still cant connect.
I go back and re add the HP 6000 printer option that it says to add. I uninstall the hp software, I shut down my computer, disconnect the printer. I turn off the router, disconnect it, reset it. I wait for the router to turn back on, then turn on the computer, turn on the printer, reinstall the software. It still says the device isnt connected.
I check to see if its listed in Print & Fax and it is. The set up assistant wont let me continue. I
just discovered that I can manually connect to my network device by typing in my ip address under the gear icon in the set up assistant. I input my routers ip address and every ip address listed in my network but it still cant connect. Im out of ideas!!!

My hp photosmart 309ns went offline yesterday after some windows update and now cant connect

my printer (hp photosmart 309ns) shows as offline and cant connect wirelessly. Worked fine for the past year until yesterday after updates by

HP 3050 - Cant Connect To Anything Via Wireless

I am very baffled as to what is going on this is how my computers are connected....
My main PC is connected to my router via an ethernet cable
My 2 laptops are connected via wireless
They arn't in a network so to speak as in they see and share files they just use the router to connect to the internet now my PC I got is working fine so it sends info to the router via Ethernet and bang printer prints via wireless, Now for my laptop I installed the CD software V 22.5.0 according to the disc. I went through the set-up and wanted to connect wireless so I followed the screen prompts used the USB cable to install device drivers and though the next screen see's my printer and network name it will not connect at all says it cant find it to actually connect to it.
I turned off the windows firewall on the laptop thinking that could be it but no I even went into the screen where I can manually type the IP address of the printer and it still wont find and connect to it, for router is a Netgear DGN2000 with the latest firmware I have set it up so that all the hardware I know thats connected has a IP address reserved so everything gets the same address all the time.
I even tried to get into the printer via IP address in IE9 but it wont even connect to it even searching in Add Printer it wont see my model even though the software is installed unless I keep it connected via USB to keep drivers on
Can anyone help because I have seriously tried for days

That means nothing wrong with "seeing" each other (asuming the printer can also ping the laptop). I'm chatting with my network people now (using communicator). Hope he can have some thoughts. I will update this.
Updated: He was saying why you selected to use USB to install on laptops ( I followed the screen prompts used the USB cable to install device drivers ) ? You need that printer driver and its wireless utility. Should be on the CD.

All of a sudden, can't connect wirelessly to WRT54G2!!

Hi! I have a WRT54G2 router with a desktop wired to it. The desktop is mine and my roommate wirelessly connects with her laptop and has been doing so no problem for about 6 months (ever since we got the router). On Christmas Eve, she was connected, went out, came home and found she'd lost her wireless connection. Now she can't get it back.
**I can still get online on the desktop.**
I've power cycled to no avail. What is weird is sometimes she will click on the list of available networks (so she can choose which she wants to connect to) and mine WILL be there, other times it will NOT. If she does happen to catch it at a moment when my network is there, and she tries to connect using the passphrase, it says "Trying to connect" or something to that effect, for like 3 minutes and then nothing happens. Also, not that I would need to, but if I go to "connect to" on my PC (as if I were looking to choose a network to connect to), my network name doesn't always show. It is random. Sometimes it does not even show when I go to "Networks" on my desktop.
We are going crazy here and I'm sad to say I am not very technical. I can provide more info if need be. My roommate took her laptop to her parents house and can connect to their wireless network, so I know the problem is the router or something to do with it....Can someone please help me?

Thank you so much for writing back! The ssid is currently set to my name. (I named it that when I first got the router...so, it's not currentlly the Linksys example).
As for security, it is already set to WPA2 Personal and for WPA Algorithms, it is set to TKIP+AES. There is already a passphrase in there (The ones that we've been using all along for her to connect wirelessly.. and that has worked until now...she's been able to use it no problem)...
So, everything "appears" to already be the way you advise it needs to. Am I doing something wrong?
Would it help to rename the router and change the passphrase, or does that not matter? What is weird is she seems it sometimes, but no all, and when she does see it, and enters the passphrase (which has worked before) it just doesn't connect.
Here is some additional info as to the way it is set right now
Under "Basic Wireless Settings"
Wireless Configuration- Manual
Wireless Network Mode- Mixed
Wireless Network Name- Tara
Wireless Channel- 6-2.437GHz
Wireless SSID Broadcast -Enable
Wireless Security
Security Mode- WPA2 Personal
WPA Algorithms- TKIP-AES
Then there is my group shared key
Group Key renewal - 3600 seconds
Wireless Mac Filter- Disable
Advanced Wireless settings
(Most here are set to the default)
Under setup of the router, DHCP server is "enabled"
Under firewall,
3 things are checked
Block anonymous internet requests
Filter muliticast
Filter IDENT
Under Access restrictions, it says "status" and it is set to "disable"
Under administration, where it says "Wireless access web" --"enable" is checked
Under status, in regards to firmware, it says this:
Firmware Version: 1.0.00 build 012, Jan. 24, 2008
Any ideas? What baffles me is that is has been working for her to connect wirelessly for months, using the passphrase and everything...and now, without my making any changes or messing with the router at all, this happens.
