Just changed HD, saved ff bookmarks from previous, how to reload them into the new ff i just downloaded?????
just changed my HD. using XP. before the change, i saved the bookmarks to a file. i just put that file onto my desktop and can't figure out how to reload all of my previous bookmarks into the new firefox. when i do a search under desktop, that file isn't listed to import.
what to do?

Make sure that the backup file with the bookmarks has the correct file extension: .html for a HTML backup and .json for a JSON backup.<br />
You can check that via the right-click context menu of that file and open the Properties.<br />
If you are not sure about the file type then you can open the file in Firefox via "File > Open File"<br />
A JSON backup will show as one long text line without line breaks and a HTML backup as a web page with clickable links.

i do not have a mac home pc. just a regular pcI had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do: Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version! One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. each time I create a new album in IPhoto, photos from another album or from photo stream are automatically dumped into the new album.. how do I create a blank album and then import photos from a flash drive into the new album?

I filmed several takes of the same scene for a movie. I trimmed the best clips from each take and put them into the project screen. However, I can't figure out how to make it flow seamlessly as one scene. Can someone please help me??

If your computer is on one minute before it freezes, than you have one minute to secure your serial number.
click the apple----->click about this Mac ------> click on version----> until you see the serial number. You may have to do this a couple of times if it freezes before you have all the numbers. A camera might help.

Can't drag/delete files from C Drive after moving them into the D Drive
Like many others, I have depleted my C Drive space and needed to move my iTunes folder into mt D Drive. I got these instructions from iTunes which tell me that after I have moved the files into the D Drive to find the old files in my C Drive and just drag them into the recycle bin. When I try that it tells me it can't be done because of copywrite protection issues. I need to free up that C Drive space by getting rid of those files. Can anyone help with this? I'd preferr an e-mailed answer if you could. Thanks.

My 2010 Macbook Pro that is running on OS X Mavericks (10.9.4) has been running rather slow lately because of all the files I use for work. I have gone through and deleted all the unnecessary applications by simply dragging them into the trash, but I am curious, does this ACTUALLY uninstall the application? My reason for asking is because in some cases, when dragging the app to the trash, the app simply just says, "Move to trash" and other times it says, "Uninstall application." Like I said I want to clear up as much space as possible to get my laptop running a bit faster.
And yes, I am already in the process of ordering new RAM to help speed up the computer as a whole, but I would like some help in UNINSTALLING unwanted applications, and am also open to any other ideas on how to speed my computer up. I am EXTREMELY tech savvy when it comes to computers, especially Apples, I just can't seem to figure this one out.... HELP ME!

And unless you have a 250 GB HDD with less than 5 to 10 GB of free storage, freeing up storage space will not make your computer run faster.
Maybe think about getting an SSD as system drive, it speeds up your Mac quite considerably.

When I sign in to my homepage -same homepage as on previous computer / igoogle firefox browser- there are no listings in my Bookmarks menu. I assumed the bookmarks would automatically appear once I signed in. Did I assume incorrectly? If so, is there a way to get them back?
The bookmarks are on your machine not stored at Mozilla. You woud
have to ttransfer them from you old machine, see

when I changed my e-mail address and got a new computer so I have downloaded iTunes and it recognizes my iPod but when I have bought 3 new songs it wouldn't let me sync the songs onto my iPod. Have tried clicking 'transfer songs' but it wont work. I don't know what else to do these are really good songs AND I've paid for them and I need them for my work. So basically you are trying to sync your Nano on a new computer/iTunes library? iPods are designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time.
To add new content to the iPod, you'll need to restore the iPod to factory settings in iTunes. However, if you have content on your iPod that needs to be copied to iTunes first, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different ways to do this.

my slides are all mixed up after i imported them into a new slideshow. i just copied them from the events and dragged the icon to the new slideshow but the have re arranged themselves into a random order. I need to rebuild my computer which has iTunes synced with my iPhone and iPad. How do I export all the settings from iTunes so I can import them into the new install and not have to go through all the setup again? My music library is my own and on a NAS drive so not going to lose it. I am mainly concerned about setup parameters. Thank you for any assistance.
There's nothing to export.
The iTunesLibrary.itl file contains all the settings, playlists, and playcounts.
Copy or backup all your important files including the ENTIRE iTunes folder, then restore all your data including the ENTIRE iTunes folder once the system is formatted and rebuilt/reloaded. -
I just restored my 13" MBP i5 at the apple store to the newest version of Lion after issues with a previous Time Machine backup from Snow Leopard- this time I created a new account and just ported files and folders, and now MS Office doesn't work.
^^ that's the main problem. Here's the full history.
I bought a new 13" i5 MBP, early 2011 edition. I had an old white Macbook 2.14 ghz core2duo on Snow Leopard. I attempted to port over my time machine backup, but encountered problems in that my User was inaccessible from the new computer after the import finished, and I had to go in and change the root password, etc, and for some reason or another, I couldn't install any programs at all from that administrator's account. By "couldn't" I mean I could install them, but upon installation they would never boot. So, I took it to the apple store and did a clean install from the most up to date Lion OSX. Then, I created a brand new admin account, instead of trying to import the old one, and things seemed great. Then, I just imported my old files from the TM backup, but not any system settings, permissions, or user data. Just my Docs, pics, vids, apps, and itunes stuff.
Here's where things get weird again. I imported this stuff under the name "old", but all of these folders have a red negative sign on them, marking them as restricted. So, from my main admin account, I cannot even peruse these folders. Since I didn't import user data, I can't sign in to the "old" account to change permissions. I already tried to change the permissions from system preferences, but that didn't change anything. And now, for whatever reason, of all the apps that were imported then, MS Office is the only set of apps that does not work. When I click on it, it just says there was a problem and asks if I'd like to send a report to apple. I tried reinstalling it to no avail. I'm an English student, so i really need access to Word. Can anyone help? The Apple store is a major detour for me and would like to fix this issue myself.Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:

Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)
