Just cleaned my iphone and thought it was off..it was on sleep-OK?

Hello All! I am new to the forums. I just got my 3g and love it. It is life changing. I usually give a quick swip of the slightly damp cleaning cloth at the end of the day over the screen (I also have a Iskin protector on the screen} I did it today and I noticed the phone was not turned off but was on sleep. Should that be OK?
Many Thanks

Thanks! I kind of freaked as I am SOOO paranoid with damaging it in any way.
If you are paranoid on damaging it, you should skim through the forums and you'll see a whole bunch of broken issues. I've seen dozens of them. One would be dropping it two feet and it'll break easy. Though I've been saving my iPod Touch by the headset cord. I end up slipping the touch out of my hand, hold the headset cord firmly, and the touch just grazes the ground.
