JUST DOWNLOADED THE LATEST ITUNES 6.0.4 UPDATE AND IT DOESN'T WORK EITHER !
It keeps getting to be "Ground Hog Day" over and over on each update.
Come on Apple, is it going to be the next Itunes update?: The one after that? No after that etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
Or you going to have an update to fix the Shuffle or not?
Just tell us one way or the other!
Or you having problems working on an update? I am not a shuffle engineer, can it be that hard to have a Itunes update that works? I am not trying to be mean, I just wonder maybe there is not fix?

I am on my second one, I really don't want to keep going to the Apple store and get new ones.
I play advanced fingerpicking guitar, and I would love to hear my creations on the shuffle. I tried restoring as well and had severe problems.

As for the rest of your screed .... frankly, if your tone with Apple Support is the same as you use here in these user-to-user forums, I'd be amazed if you could get anyone to help you at all. I guess you haven't used the chat feature, I guess you haven't used the online troubleshooting, I guess you haven't read or done any of the many things that are ..... ohh, never mind.
Okay, so it's a waste of time and bandwidth to revisit all of this with you .... your mind's made up and I'll not try to confuse you with more facts. For others reading this unfortunate thread just be aware, as pohlman so very clearly is not, that (a) there are many other resources available, beginning at but not limited to the iPod Shuffle Support Page ( http://www.apple.com/support/ipodshuffle/ ), (b) that the iPS actually does and will work on your machine, (c) that there forums are strictly user-to-user and are not any official part of iPod Support, and (d) that anyone posting a valid question here will usually, eventually, find some other user trying to answer it.

I just downloaded the latest itunes update 11.1 for windows 7 and now when I try to open itunes with the shortcut on my desktop I get this error message: "The item 'itunes.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly." Does that shortcut work?
If so, delete the current shortcut that is in the Quick Start tray and drag the one that is in Start > Programs down there. -
I have just downloaded the latest itunes version (11.0.1). All my data cannot now be located, though the library is showing all the correct content.The data is stored on an external hard drive. How do I tell the library where to find it's data?
The iTunes application should be installed on the system drive. You may need to repair iTunes to fix that error regarding a missing .exe.
To organize your library properly see Make a split library portable.
If you don't have a working version of the library that can be transformed into a portable shape I have tools and techniques that can repair the broken links.

Hi, I downloaded the latest software for my iphone 4 and this morning I received text messages that were meant for my son. we both use the same PC and iTunes for our iphones, so will he get a copy of my messages too when he upgrades his software?

CathyYou have an Apple ID signed in to all the devices which is causing this.
"When you sign in to your Apple ID with iMessage using an iPhone with iOS 6, your Apple ID is linked to your phone number. This allows you to receive iMessages sent to your phone number on other iOS 6 devices signed in to the same Apple ID."
To correct this, go into Settings > Messages > Send and Recieve at > See below...
On your phone: Uncheck your son's phone number
On his phone: Uncheck your phone number.
On iPad: Uncheck both phone numbers to prevent iMessages sent to either number to also appear on the iPad.
If you have email addresses associated here, then you may have to remove those as well, although you won't be able to remove the Apple ID that you're using. Any iMessage sent to that Apple ID will arrive at all the device unless you sign out of that Apple ID and create/use another Apple ID for that device. -

you did not get an authorized version.
If you did and it still does not work then you should be in touch with one of the Flash Player or Adobe help forums, because it's an Adobe product they would know best how to troubleshoot issues. -

Downloaded the latest iTune upgrade on my labtop and iTunes will not open?

I just downloaded the latest itunes and i cant figure out how to update my iphone apps on my computer now. I go to the toolbar on the top and press search for updates and it tells me that the latest version of itunes is already downloaded or that there are no updates available at this time. Previously, i would be able to go to the apps page on itunes and then press search for updates and then download all. Then I would sync with my phone and both phone and computer would be updated. Now I can only update on the phone and I know Im going to encounter where it tells me the info for downloading is too large to do it on your phone, hence my first question.....where do I go to update my apps on my computer????
While you're in itunes, with the leftside window open, click on Apps. Then, look across the top middle of your itunes screen. You will see several choices: All, Iphone/iPad Touch, Ipad, Ipod Games, List, and Updates.
Clicking on each of these gives you a different view.
When you select ALL you will see all of your apps. When you select Updates you sill see only the apps that need to be updated. When you are in Updates you will see the Update button in the lower right corner.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.
