Just downloaded update for nano, now the ipod does nothing?!?!?

I've just signed in on home pc, connected ipod, itunes opened, and told me there was a new update for my ipod, I have clicked yes to update, and then left it to "do its thing".
I came back roughly an hour later, to discover that my ipod no longer showed up in itunes, and that all I got showing on my ipod was the apple logo.
I have tried resetting, to no avail, have read through the discussions and tried putting it into disk mode, at which point itunes will recognise my ipod, but after ejecting, reconnecting, resetting, nothing works.
Can anyone help me?

Why did you disconnect it when it showed that screen? That is just one step in the update process. You need to complete the update; that is what that screen says. Just plug it in and let it finish. If it doesn't see this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

You should probably think about upgrading your operating system to the newest one, which is Yosemite. It has the latest version Safari running.

I just downloaded update for MP610 printer on my Mac OS 10.5.8

After downloading update, printer will not work. It seems to be locked in the "hold" position and an exclamation point appears on the "hold" icon.

Please try the following adjustment to see if we can correct this issue:
1. Click the Apple and choose 'System Preferences'.
2. Open the 'Print and Fax' menu.
3. Highlight and delete any copies of the Canon Printer listed on the left by clicking the minus (-) sign.
4. Click the plus (+) sign.
5. Click 'Default' on the upper left corner. Wait a few moments, then highlight the USB version of the printer.
6. Click 'Add' on the bottom right corner when it becomes available.
Once this has been done, try printing to test the connection with the printer.

My IPOD Classic is not synching to my itunes library so the songs in the library are not placed into my IPOD. This happened subsequent to my laptop crash and it was restored. I downloaded Itunes and was able to transfer songs and I also imported music from cds into library. However, when I click on SYNCH nothing happens and the songs in itunes library are not imported into my ipod.

Are they configured to sync to your iPod from under the iPod's music configuration tab in iTunes? See this article for more help and assistance on syncing music to your iPod Classic.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.

Updated my 3gs now the phone does not activate?

The message that appears is,
"your phone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. try connecting your phone to itunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes"

Possible causes:
1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.
2. Your phone is jailbroken.
3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.
4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).
For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

If you want to simply do a 'fresh' install (versus wiping out all of your data and doing a 'clean' install) simply boot to your Recovery partition (hold down the Command and R keys whilst booting) and when the Recovery screen appears, elect to freshly install OS X.
Don't know that will solve your problem, though... did you do the 'automatic' update or download the update as a disk image (.dmg)? I wouldn't think that would be causing your problems...
