Just got a ipod and have many problems

first of all i dont kno much about computers but anyways how come when im transfering music in my ipod it says it only has like 900 mb of space. Also how come one of my songs is 5 min long and it takes up 5 mb but another 4 min song takes up around 6-7 mb ? Finally how come when im listening to my ipod the battery at the top corner goes down then goes back up ...?

I'm not an expert, but trust me when I say that you don't need to know much about computer to use your iPod. the size of a file (song) often varies according to the format. make sure that the format of your audio files is MP3 or AAC.Sorry I cant help with the battery problem... Enjoy your iPod

  • I just got my ipod and i have networks but it wont let me make a password i have tried to find my wi-fi password but i can't is there an app where i can get wi-fi off of it please some one help me i can't do anything on my ipod

i just got a ipod and i can't find my wi-fi password im so mad i have alot of networks but it wont let me make a password and i have tried to find my wi-fi password is there an app or something that can help me get wi-fi on my ipod i feel so sad knowing that i cant even do anything with it

You need to contact the people who administer the networks to get the passwords for the networks. If there was such an app as you are asking for then passwords for wifi networks would be worthless.

  • Hi...Just got a Ipod and in our house we have 3 ipod touch total. Can we put 3 ipods in itune?

Hi...Just got a Ipod and in our house we have 3 ipod touch total. Can we put 3 ipods in itune?

Yes.  When you connect your devices, iTunes knows which one is which so you can customize what does and does not get synched to each device.
The only caveat is each user needs to have their own unique Apple ID AND their own account on the computer so you can keep purchased apps and such separate...
By having separate computer accounts, each user has their own "space" to put stuff in.  iTunes knows this and will make individual iTunes library folders for each user.

  • I just got my Ipad2 and have my email accounts set up.  When I go to the folder icon at the top of the page and click on Sent Items they disappear to somewhere.  How do you look at your sent items?

I just got my Ipad2 and have my email accounts set up.  I have sent messages but when I go to the folder icon at the top right of the page and tap on SENT emails it makes the inbox email on the screen disappear.  How do you check your sent emails?  Thanks for your help.

You can send over WiFi, but it sounds as if you need to setup your Gmail account, or did you do this already?

  • Question I just got my ipod and I am currently converting my top five movie

to ipod format to be able to view them on my Ipod now I have two questions the first one is I have my fav movies saved in h.264 format each movie 1.5 gigs now when I converted my first one it created a duplicate of that specific movie my guess is one if the Ipod format and the other is the one I had originally in Itunes now my first question is if I sync it into my Ipod and then delete the duplicate movie that the conversion created, will I still be able to see the movie on my Ipod and the second question is does it make a diference which copy of the movie I delete, because I only wanna have one of each in my itunes, but I wanna make sure that the one I converted to ipod format is of the same quality of the original movie I had before converting it. So I guess I wanna know if saving the ipod converted one and deleting the original will lose quality. I know I saved the original one as a 1.5 gig so hopefully when I convert to ipod it doesn't compress the movie, if it does I would like to keep the original movie and delete the converted one. Sorry for the long question, but I just got my ipod yesterday and I'm loving it.

thank you for the info well my question was I always had movies in my movie section in itunes now when I converted those into ipod format it created another copy of the movie. So I have two copies of evey movie now, so I wanna know if I can delete the copy tha was created and still have it stored on my Ipod or if I keep the copy that was created if I would lose any video quality and sound quality, I'm not sure what happens when we convert to ipod format just wanna make sure if I delete the old copy that I don't lose any quality

  • Just got my ipod and it doens´t even turn on

I just got my Ipod Nano. I have itunes installed but it says that it can´t recognize my ipod right now. My ipod doesn´t even turn on. I haven´t seen a thing in it´s screen! My windows explorer doesn´t show my ipod too but when checking my computer configurations it says that I have a Apple Recovery connected to the USB.
I suspected it was battery but it´s connected to my computer for two hours now and NOTHING happened. I looked everywhere and called apple assistance (they´re not working today).
A help would be so much appreciated!!! I want to at least see my ipod turning on
    Thanks!

Where won't it let you flip the keyboard? What App?  Does the screen rotate in Apps like Safari?
Its up to the particular App to have rotation enabled. If it doesn't then the screen will remain in the orientation the designers set.
And By the way: this is the iPad forum. The iPod forum is here:

  • My daughter just got her ipod and she begam multiple apple id's. she entered her itunes card code into one of these and we dont know which one

my daughter received an ipod and  an itunes card for christmas and began multiple apple id's with a few different email addresses. she entered the itunes card code into one of these. i have all the card info and receipt. is there anyway she can still use this card?

As long as you are signed into the account which she registered the card with, you will be able to use it. I'm guessing you just don't know which account that is. Logging into all of them would be the only way to find that out. Hope that helps :)

  • Just got a Macbook and have a few questions

Ok, so I just got my Macbook laptop today and because I have never owned a Mac product i just had a few questions
First off, is it safe to be plugged into the internet right off the bat or do I need to go out and buy some antivirus software? i have heard from some people that macs have built in antivirus and that they are also just in general less likely to get a virus then your average pc.
also just wondering, when i play a cd the disk reader/laser? whatever you would want to call it makes alot more noise then i expected it to. i didnt know if that was normal or not, and just wanted some opinions from other macbook users. thanks!!

On these forums, just about anyone you ask will say that there is no reason to get antivirus software. Most mac users don't have any installed. It's not viruses on the mac you really need to be worried about; it's stupid stuff like phishing or scams - things that don't have anything to do with the operating system - that you just have to watch out for. You'll be fine without antivirus software. The thing I really liked about my mac (windows user all my life; switched 6 months ago, haven't regretted it) is that instead of worrying about viruses and keeping my anti-virus/spyware software always up to date, I was just able to start using my mac, right out of the box.
They do make antivirus software for macs. If you really are that worried about it, go to:
    http://www.clamxav.com/
The ironic thing is that it checks for windows viruses (someone correct me if I'm wrong) so you don't pass them on. A windows virus won't have any effect on your mac.
Surf the net. Be productive. Stop worrying. Have fun. Welcome to Apple.
    ...not a bad little slogan
EDIT - wow, a million people posted while I was writing this reply. meh.

  • Just got my IPOD 30 5th Gen Problem with adds to IPOD

When I add music CD to IPOD I get duplicate names..ie. Queen (2 disc set) add disc 1 ok then disc 2 but in iTUNES it shows duplicate song titles under Queen.. when u play each they are diff songs?
Also I get the question mark in the far left column.. when u click it to play nothing happens..If I add the song a second time the question mark is gone and song plays?
    Can someone assist...Most appreciated
What is the correct way to add music to IPOD?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Are you importing the CD through iTunes? Are you letting iTunes name the tracks? Are the duplicates showing up in iTunes too, or just on the iPod. You have to get them into your iTunes library the way you want them or they won't transfer on the iPod the right way.
Which symbol is showing up next to the song in iTunes?

You can add songs to the iPod manually by dragging them or by letting iTunes automatically add them, depending on the preferences you have set.

  • I just got my Ipod and someone stole it :'| it didnt say that i had to download icloud ( i didnt know what it was then) PLEASE HOW DO I GET IT BACK  ??

    Help please.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod and wifi is on and connect go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - Apple will do nothing

You should copy your iTunes library from the older computer to your new laptop using one of the methods described in this Apple support document.
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
Or if you would like you can use your iPod to move your iTunes library as well, assuming it's a model that supports Disk Mode (meaning it's not an iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad).

    HI,
This is fairly generic (for iChat 4) although some links are out of date.
Start at the second menu down that says "Get a Screen Name"
    http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/versions/ichatvers4/howtos4.html
iChat 5 is virtually no different
iChat 6 adds the Yahoo option.
As has been said more specific info from yourself will enable a much more detailed reponse from us.

  • I just got my iPod and turned it got set up, but no apps will download! (iPod 5th gen)

It is white if it makes any difference.
I have set everything up, but I haven't synced it with a computer.
    Would this be the problem?

    Okay
To both you guys who commented, I know the problem!
If any of you guys have music downloading in the iTunes music section, that's whats making you wait!
After you finish with the music and videos, and whatever is downloading in iTunes NOT THE APP STORE JUST THE MUSIC SECTION, then you will be able to download your apps,  if you can't wait that long then go to the music section of iTunes, and pause each download.  That then should let you be able to download the apps you want. BUT AFTER YOUR DONE WITH THE APPS MAKE SURE YOU RESUME ALL YOUR MUSIC, VIDEOS ECT......... DOWNLOADS, IT  WON'T RESUME AUTOMATICALLY!
