Just got a new battery: what should I do?
Just unpacked and it's at 46%. There's a particular procedure I should follow with a new battery? Let it charge? Or use my MBP with battery until it's down and then give it a complete recharge?
You can charge it all the way up (overnight), then drain it all the way down, to initially calibrate the battery meter. Then continue with normal usage except for a calibration every month or so.

My laptop was stolen by a roommate. I just got it back. What should I do to restore it?
It looks like she wiped my hard drive, but I think it's the same settings otherwise. I'm not sure how to tell, really! I have an external hard drive with Time Machine on it, so I'd like to wipe whatever she has done to my computer and start afresh, ideally loading back all my old files, hard drive, etc. Is there anything I should do to it for safety? She has made the only account hers, and has a master password I don't know. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I have the old installation discs/Snow Leopard, etc, since this is a fairly old laptop.
Thanks for any advice!If you don't have the original install disks you can contact Apple and ask them to sent a set to you. There is a minimal charge to cover costs but it is not outragous. In the USA call (800) 275-2273 or elsewhere call the correct number on this page.
User the original disks to erase and restore the hard drive. That way you won't have to worry about anything your wonderful roomie installed. Once you have done that, use the Migration Assistant (found in /Applications/Utilities) to restore your data from the Time Machine backup.
If the MacBook came with a version earlier than what you had on it when it was taken (like it came with 10.4, but you had 10.6.8 on it when it was lifted) you may need to purchase the newer operating system as well. Apple sells 10.6 from the online store.
You could just purchase the 10.6 and erase using that but if you did so you would not have all the applications that came with the original install, such as iMovie, GarageBand, etc.

Have you held the menu and left arrow together for 6 secs ? (I think you have from what you say).
Also try unpowering and restarting AppleTV.

Try:
- A reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Powering off and then back on the router.

I just got my new mac, when i try to import music files or even import a CD, it says "Error, a file was specified instead of a folder". What do I do, It is very frustrating i have all my music from my old PC and a bunch of CD's i cannot import.

As soon as you insert a CD (assumng you have a drive), iTunes should immediately open and ask if you want to add this to your Library. Say "Yes." (You haven't set the quality levels yet, but we want to set up your library, first.)
Music. If you have individual tracks you want to import, keep iTunes open, and simply drop the tracks in the "Songs" part of the Library on the left side of the screen. The tracks should be added automatically.
If this isn't working for you, please describe the error -- or better yet, provide screenshots. I'm certain you will be able to set up your iTunes library pretty quickly. -

Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.
As far as the link you provided, I already looked to that for help earlier. It states:

I did these steps, but I don't remember my admin password. The question is: How do I reset my admin password so I can reset my log in password.
Is my admin password the same password I use to log onto this website to post questions? If so, like I said previously, I already reset that password and my computer isnt recognizing it. -
I just got a new laptop and when i went to go and buy something, it asked for some security question answers cause this was my first time buying on this computer. When i went to go type in the (so what I thought) correct answers, it said they were wrong. After numerous tries, it disabled my account. How do I get the answers sent to my email so i can start using my itunes again?

I just got a new iPod touch 4th generation and I'm trying to connect to my router and my iPod says, 'Cannont find network.' I don't know what to do! No other networks come up on the list so I can't 'tag' along with thier wifi. Please help. I need advice.
What type network is yu router set up for? The 4G iPod can only connect and see 2.4 GHZ networl like B, G and the 2,4 GHz N. There is also a 5 GHz N but the iPod will not even seethat network.
