Just got a notification that a new email acct was accessing FaceTime when we were not. Thoughts?

We were trying to download Pinterest App on a phone, IOS was outdated so after entering Apple ID we were unable. A couple minutes later, got a notification that a new email address was accessing FaceTime when we were not.

Change the password for your Apple ID/iCloud ID.
Did the message say what email address was used?

You can send over WiFi, but it sounds as if you need to setup your Gmail account, or did you do this already?

I just got a notification that the phone of somebody I don't want on my imessage account, has been added to my account. how do i double check that they are indeed on my account, and then remove them?

I just got a message on my computer and my phone that an ex girlfriend of mine's phone was just added to my imessage account. For obvious reasons, I'm not okay with that. I just messaged her on facebook and double checked if the name of the phone sent to me is the label of her phone, and it was. She then sent me a screen shot of her phone's imessage settings page though saying that its only connected to her account. I dont believe that she is lying to to me, but I dont believe my computer is either. Is there a way I can double check what devices are linked to my accccount and remove one if need be?

The only "accounts" on iMessage are the accounts you have set up. Open iMessage, from the top toolbar click on Messages>Preferences>Accounts
There you will see what accounts are set up on your iMessage app. If your ex-girlfriend is still set up in your Contacts, you may want to remove her from there.

I stopped at an Apple store and they told me to copy them from the email back to Notes. But when I was in the email acct, I could not find a way to copy them. Shouldn't Notes remain in Notes unless I specifically send them somewhere else?

Go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, select that email account on the right-hand side of the screen and turn Notes 'on' for it - they should then appear in the Notes app instead of as an email folder in the Mail app (they will still be linked to that email account, so you may need to tap the 'Accounts' button at at the top left of the list of notes)

I want to change my apple id, but I am told that the new email add is already linked to an account?

I changed email addresses some time ago, and I thought that I had updated my Apple Account. When I tried to log in with the new email addy, I got a message that this emaill addy had not been set up as an account yet. So I cancelled that message, went into my account witht the old email addy, and proceded to follow the necessary steps to change my ID.
I then received a message that the new email addy was already attached to an account. ??????????????? I tried the new email again, but it still wants me to set up new account (ie reenter all my information). How do I get my new email addy cleared from the system so I can use it on my current account?

THe email address you want to use may be set as the recovery email for another account. That would prevent you from using it, until you remove it from that account.

You can't install 9.2.1 or earlier on any Mac that is only Mac OS X bootable. In fact you need to use the restore disks which came with those Macs to install 9.2.2 on those Macs. 8.6 is only possible to install on Macs which came with 8.6 or earlier. The 9.1 disk may be useful for your 1999 PowerMac G4, but won't be of any use for a 2006 Powerbook G4.

I just received an alert that there is a new email address for my FaceTime, and its not mine.

I opened my computer this morning and I found a popup that there was a new email address for my facetime. I opened facetime and the only address there was [email protected] Does anyone have any help for this? Was I hacked? Are my computer and passwords vulnerable? My iphone 5 and iPad (3rd Gen) seem unaffected.

There's no way you can access that information. Not even sure if Apple could.

If you have on your previous Apple ID a rescue email address and that email address is what you are using to create a new one, then it will not let you use it. See if you can log in to your Apple ID and remove that email address. Check out the article below for more information.

My iPhone 4s says that my software version 5.0.1 is up to date. Why am I not receiving the notification that the new update is available for me to download?

I have an iPhone 4s, not jailbroken. I was able to update to 5.0.1 when it came out last year. When 5.1.1 came out, I noticed that I never received the
notification that a new update was available. I updated my 2 ipads and my wife's iphone 4. I didn't bother looking into it, since I didn't feel the need to update to 5.1.1. Now I want to update to ios 6, but when I go to Settings > General > Software Update. It checks for updates , but still shows me that my 5.0.1 is up to date. I plug into itunes and check for update there and it still indicates that 5.0.1. is up to date as well.
Does anyone know what this is happening and how I can update to ios 6?

Adobe does not require a password to download the Flash installer. Generally speaking passwords are not required to download software, unless you must register with the website so as to log in. In that case you should never use the same name and password you use to administer your Mac.

The HT1766 article you attached lists the prerequisites for an iCloud backup:
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your device using iOS 5 or later. After you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage, it will run on a daily basis as long as your device is:
Connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi
Connected to a power source
Screen locked
You can also back up manually whenever your device is connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi by choosing Back Up Now from Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.

Is your phone jailbroken? If not, just ignore/delete the message...it's a Flash SMS, & nothing but spam. If your phone is not jailbroken, you have nothing to worry about.
