Just got a Platinum Box, how can I use

I just bought a Platinum upgrade for my Audigy 2 ZS and I was wondering, for the Coaxial SPDIF, the Optical, the "midi", and the line in RCA connections, can someone give me a list of what kinds of things can be used with them?

Well if you don't have the laptop to get the storage drive out of it, and you don't have any previous backups how do you expect to get the photo's?
PhotoBooth is just a program, it stores the files on the computers storage drive, if the computer is lost so are your photo's.
There is nothing you can do to delete or retrieve them using your new computer unless you stored them online someplace.
DId you save them online? iDisk or something else?
I don't use such services because my data is mine and not theirs to snoop through, so if your looking for that sort of help I can't assist you any.

1) Congratulations on purchaing an iMac. But an iMac is not considered a laptop.
2) Apps you bought for you iPhone and iPad can interchange with each other, but can NOT run on an Imac or a MacBook.
You will have to buy the same title again from the Mac App Store. When you do, you can run them on your iMac and your MacBook.

Just got a Movie Box and can't get it to work

I just purchased a movie box from Pinnacle in hopes of transfering some of my vhs tapes to the computer in a quick and painless fashion. This is proved to be anything but!
First of all, even though the box is Mac compatible, the software isn't. And there are absolutely no instructions on how to use it with a Mac. I beilieve that I have everything hooked up correctly but have no idea where to go from here. It doesn't "pop up" on the screen or anything, and I can't find anywhere in iMovie to connect to it or import anything. It's like the computer doesn't even recognize it.
I was in a previous discussion group that told me to go with the movie box. Are any of you still out there that could shed a little light on the subject for me?

I have one it works fine. yeah, the Mac instructions aren't great. Try this.
(1) make sure you have your VCR audio and video outputs connected to the side with the two selection switches.
(2) be sure you know the difference between the audio and video outputs no matter which colors you use.
(3) make sure the indicator light is green on cable that connects to your computers firewire port.
(4) when you operate the vcr through Imovie. you will only be able to play your vhs tape. so to fast forward or reverse. you must use your vcr remote or your hand.
(5) to import your footage just click on import in imovie.
That should solve your problem. Also, in the future put these questions in the imovie forum.

It's a trust issue. You can set them up so you don't receive each other's messages as long as you each have your own email address.
The trust issue is the fact that either of you can change the separation at any time via Settings by checking the appropriate (inappropriate?) email address.
To be absolutely sure you can never receive each other's messages will require two Apple IDs.

I just migrated all my old data from an external hd onto my new MacBook. I see my website data, and I put it in the Sites folder, but opening iWeb prompts me to start a new website. How do I continue working on my website, i.e., open my old files in iWeb?

iWeb '08 stores your website data in a domain.sites2 file located in Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb.
You need to copy this to the same location on your new Mac and then double click the domain file to launch iWeb for the first time only. After that you can launch your site from the application.
If you open a new site in iWeb first you can save the blank domain file in a new folder for starting new sites.

I back my music and photos from my windows laptop before it broke on a external hard drive . I just got a new mac book can I use the hard drive to put my wave files and JPEG files on to my mac book

My old lap top broke I save all my music what is wave and my pitches is jpeg on external hard drive

If your external drive has the right ports, you should be able to plug it up to your Mac and copy over your photos and wav files. You'll probably (I don't know this for sure as it's been a long, long time since I've dealt with wav files) need to convert the wav files to MP3 or some other format (but I would try opening them directly from iTunes, first - wait a second... yes, iTunes will open wav files).
There are only a fixed number of ways that Windows drive can be formatted and a Mac can read (though not necessarily write) them all. So you should have no trouble with that.

I just got PSE 8.0. Can I use Raw w/ the Canon 30D ?

This would be very helpful. It seems the old 5.0 works but not the 8.0 which seems
a bit odd. Don't know why this would be the case but Raw does not come up when I try to
use the 8.0.
Your help would be appreciated. I am new to this Raw Stuff.

What happens is: when I click on the thumbnail picture the RAW editing box does not come up. If I click on the full edit button, it still
doesn't come up. It looks like it is just tlike when I photoshop a jpeg on photoshop Elements 8.
Nothing comes up or says anything.
However, if I click on a thumbnail in PSE 5.0 the screen comes up for editing on RAW.
I hope that states it clearly.
(PS do you know a good book that is simple that helps you understand the RAW info?

Depending on why it's been disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your phone/iPad then try logging out of your account on the phone/iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it

If you turned on Settings > iCloud > Find My iPad before it was stolen you can use the steps under "If Find My iPhone is enabled on your missing device" in the following link: If your iPhone, iPad, user iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support
If you had not turned on Find My iPad before it was lost, there isn't a way to locate it. There are some suggestions in the "If Find My iPhone isn't enabled" section near the bottom regarding changing passwords and other steps.
